    literally a work of art. when you first started playing back your voice, I didn't realize it was from the speaker itself!!!! I thought it was your own natural voice in the room....that really messed with my mind....I was only convinced when you moved around to the back of the shell and I could clearly hear it was off-axis....but man! This is pure technical genius mixed with artistic genius!

      @@DaveRat in this video you add some weight, i think, on the sub speakers... what is the effect en how does it work...?
      And i am very curious when you compare the little amp with a pro amp!

    • @DaveRat
      @DaveRat  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The added weight lowers the resonant frequency of the speaker. In this case I lowered it from 90 Hz to 45 Hertz. It won't get as loud or handle as much power but the tone will be much lower and deeper

    I suspect the first kerf cut failed because the plywood sheet wasn't flat. I have a router with vacuum table (30"x40"), and I have had that problem. I've had to come to terms with the fact that sheet materials are not flat!

    • @DaveRat
      @DaveRat  Před 10 měsíci

      I messed up the depth of cut setting on the CNC setup in fusion 360. I had it was n manual select and forgot to select bottom of cut instead of bottom of model. The vacuum table sucks all the wood down flat

  • @dtroutmann

    Did you put adhesive in the kirf slots for extra strength? Or is it just not necessary?
    Haa just answered it

    • @DaveRat
      @DaveRat  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Before I poured the resin I sealed the kerfs with durhams so the resin wouldn't leak out the kerf slots

    why not a horn?

    • @DaveRat
      @DaveRat  Před 10 měsíci +3

      What would we honk at?
      Horns increase output at the expense of fidelity, great if you want loud and don't care if it sounds as good.

    Thought you might find this interesting .
    Reminded of what we called the 'bulletshell' which is more likeliy a korea, ww2 or Vietnam ordinance shell. do you know anything else about it, Dad?
    Hope ykure having a good day, i. Working on that turntable you very kindly dropped into me.
    Also, as wi ter is winding down, i will also pull down and repack the 'magic heater' you lent me.
    I havent looked at the power usage, but it was usually only on one, maybe 2... great machine, and i expect massively efficient.
    Ill get thatt done so when yku are up this wy i can get it back to you..
