Naulakhi kothi was built by an angrez in days of old when the Raj was at its height and when a thousand bricks could be bought for a mere 20 rupees. Back then it had cost a princely sum of 900,000 rupees to build. And so it was always known as Naulakhi.
نولکھی کوٹھی اوکاڑہ میں 34 چک کے قریب واقع ہے ۔ 1913 میں اس وقت برطانوی راج کے دوران یہ عمارت بنائی گئی ۔ کرنل کال نے اس کوٹھی کی تعمیر پہ اس وقت 9 لاکھ روپے خرچ کر دیئے ۔ کلیانہ اسٹیٹ کہ امورکبھی اسی بلڈنگ سے چلائے جاتے تھے۔

The one rupee coin being used in India at the time of 1920s was made of 1 tola silver. Current price of 1 tola silver in Pakistan is Rs. 3,056/-. So essentially the Rs. 900,000/- of United India in 1913 becomes around 2.75 Billion. (3,056 x 900,000 = 2,750,400,000). Interesting. 2:05
