man, never been to death valley but im from vegas, drove from there to socal & back hundreds of times, so the second half of this was familiar. miss it.
some people might not think so, but in my opinion deathvalley national park is the most beautiful, mysterious magnificent place in america, its the size of connecticut, the main valley is a vast desert floor surrounded by rugged beautiful snow capped peaks, with over 650 miles of sand dirt rock roads over some of the hariest passes in america, thru canyons to 4 other surrounding valleys with many abandoned mines and cabins that some folks fix up to stay at, golden canyon is a canyon of duh golden walls which leads to the red cathedral, a 1.5 mile hike, the hottest recorded temperature on earth at the pld furnace creek resort in 1913 134 degrees, it has a never ending waterfall a 1.5 mile hike from the trailhead to darwin falls, a hole in the ground called devils hole that may be bottomless, rumored to have walls of gold in its depths, one reason ol charlie manson stayed in DVNP, the idiot free dove it and was later captured at barker ranch in striped butte valley, dante's view is a must that view looks like you're on another plant, the parks vastness makes your problems and this world disappear, the main valley was once a massive 600 foot deep lake manly devils hole is filled with an ancient iceage aquifer, it has a crater formed from an underground explosion of hot magma rising and causing a massive megaton steam explosion that formed ubeeheeebe crater 500 feet across and deep and a super fun hike down and back up, there is another ancient drylake called the racetrack playa where rocks from surrounding mountains fall on the playa and move across it leaving a trail, its a 3 hour drive to it at 35 mph its washboard, now before going on these offroad trails, 1 have a capable rig thats in good shape bring 2 gallons of water per person a sattellite phone don't think the park has a cell tower near, or just watch the video of the deathvalley germans on youtube as not what to do in DVNP, oh now there is a 100 million dollar resort and 4 diamond resteraunt where the old furnace creek place was, with a golf course ponds and 2 swimming pools 22 casitas at 155 bucks a night, that park is a photographers, old wild west buff, hikers, explores, offroaders, geologists, nightsky watchers fuqin dream and certainly the best part of california enjoy it, i live 3 hours from deathvalley and yosemite, i'd rather go to dearhvalley anyday
I drove from Las Vegas to Death Valley.... gonna put this on mute and turn on my music and pretend I m driving againa but this time back. It was fucking awesome, I love death Valley
I’ll be driving through Death Valley in a couple months and was wondering how the cell reception is. I have Verizon, but I’d imagine even they don’t get much if no service out there.
Am sure you already did the trip but for those reading this, it may help shedding light. The cellular coverage is very spotty and rarely found outside of the smal settlements such as Furnace Creek and Panamint Springs. However, by downloading maps ahead of time, it is possible to navigate your way even after leaving the cellular coverage areas.
65mph seriously a hwy like this shouldn't have a speed limit on it especially driving on the long Stretches here in UK we have what's called a national speed limit sign you wouldn't need to worry about 65mph
+Chris Diamond That's indeed an awesome trip, I wish I could do it again anytime soon :D I've been currently using the Hyperlapse smartphone app for road filming. It's nice and better for shorter distances, while being very smooth. Check it out: czcams.com/video/dXDMtmij2V4/video.html
I think this is from south death valley. I did a similar trip in 2005. Since then, in places the desert seems to be kind of ruined and the city has expended. Terrible song by the way.
I’m glad you took NV 160. It’s very scenic.
i love driving there to see my good buddy trevor
I did that drive this year, Awesome vid mate. really brought back some memories

Driving so fast can't even see much
as your attorney I advise you to drive at top speed. It will be a god damn miracle if we get there before you turn into a wild animal.
Darwin would want this for us.
What did you use to film this?
+Chris Diamond My good old fake-GoPro aka Actionpro SD21Pro, attached to the windshield, filming in time-lapse mode with one frame per second.
+solimar91 Awesome. I am driving from LA to Las Vegas to San Fran and back down to LA next May so looking for ideas on how to film it :-) thanks
