Love the beauty and use of your old stove. Please be careful with the older gas stove/ ovens. They often do not have the safety features new ones have. My mom was using one in her twenties, had a roast in the oven and a pan on the stove. The flame in the oven went out but the gas stayed on. When she opened the door to check on the roast, the flame from the stove lit the gas in the oven and it exploded in her face. She had severe burns requiring multiple surgeries. As a firefighter, it is not uncommon for us to find that these same issues have caused house fires. My grandmother had an Aga stove for years and years. Definitely, one of my favorite memories.

I'm 1 that simply can not get motivated if I'm still in pajamas. I have to get dressed to be able to function. Then the type of cloths matter too. If it's a shopping day, I'm out in public, so I dress for that. If it's a grungy day of doing, then it's clothes that don't matter. My clothes also keep me reminded to stay on task too. 😊❤

I had strep throat as a kid for many years ...always had to take antibiotics. Later in life my naturopath told me strep throat and ear infections in children can be a sign of dairy intolerance, which is true for me because I also get bad acne from dairy. My son had two ear infections in a row when I stopped nursing him and switched to formula based on cows milk. We stopped formula and he never had ear infections since then.

I’m right there with you about cloth diapers. I did them almost totally exclusively for almost 7 years and 3.5 kids but once my fourth starts eating solids I am planning on being done. It isn’t that hard, but it is just enough extra to do (wash fold stuff spray) that I want to spend that energy on something else now that I have so many kids. It used to be a blessing to us to cloth diaper, until it wasn’t!

On antibiotics: my husband had tonsillitis and bronchitis every year for about 10 years, then I met him and told him he could probably try something else other than conventional antibiotics. That year he put grapefruit seed extract on his tonsils, and it cured quicker than with conventional antibiotics. He’s used it a few times over the last 12 years for other infections and I took it internally for mastitis.
Also for jaw formation/wisdom teeth etc. you could look into Weston A. Price. I think you probably know who he is and it seems that jaw formation can be a generational problem, where if grandmother didn’t have enough nutrients, daughter doesn’t, then daughter’s kids may not no matter what the diet is.

It’s important to calculate many needs when contemplating and purchasing a stove. Deals can always be found at any time but it is critical for the stove to cover all basics for you. Looking at things like cooking for a large family, using it in business is crucial to finding the right stove.

Enjoyed hearing your answers for many of these questions. I am sure that not only the baby clothing storage would be a lot of work for you, but also, you have siblings and know people who can pass around clothing easily from one to another. I used to do that with one of my friends. It was so worth it. It was cute seeing her kids in clothes mine once wore too.

Thanks for sharing your life with us! I love the questions and answers episodes because they they show the real person behind the scenes. Don't get me wrong, I love all your content, even though I'm in a different stage in life (my kids are grown-ups now). I always learn so much from you! I like that you are real. Sometimes, we want to be purist and perfectionist as mothers, but the reality is that the days have only 24 hours, and our bodies can only handle so much. It's ok to simplify your life and choose your own battles and prioritize what's important for your family now. If disposable diapers will give you half an hour more to be doing stuff with your family, your business, or just resting, then go that route. I admire you for your sincerity and openness. May God continue to bless you and your beautiful family.

I was shoked because he didnt have a sore throat, and the doctor prescribed antibiotics, Inwas so torn because he seemed like a carrier, where antibiotics are not necessary, or that he was healing already, but because of the risks we dis antibiotics, he finished sunday, and weve been working hard to give him lots of probiotics, most in food and milk keifer etc. ❤ great episode, I just loved that question!

Lisa, definitely make sure if your kid gets strep throat to get an anabiotic. My husband at the age of 28 got a bad case of strep throat and he did not go to the doctor. He got better on his own but a few weeks later, he started having night sweats a lot of heart palpitations, and then he was diagnosed with rheumatic fever. By the grace of God, he did not get any heart problems from it but that was very rare. Please get your kids antibiotics because the doctor told him he was very lucky. It was very painful he could barely walk it took a whole year to get better and still gets joint pain and has arthritis. He’s 58 now and has never had strep throat again thank God.

I’ve cooked on an Aga in England and they are nice but in the summer boy are they hot. Right now I have a chambers stove. Which I love. The well, hot plate and style make it worth the small oven. I’ve not had anything not fit. You can also cook with the gas off and the oven doesn’t release in the back. So it’s sealed I do not get soot on the walls. And moisture traps on the oven which makes great bread.

I always did newborn disposables for the first month or so during the adjustment phase. I used mostly thick commercial old-school white cotton diapers with pins for all 5. Also, used disposable traveling.
Cloth is great if you can get over the plunging the poopies in the toilet. That's only once a day, typically. I guess there are liners, too. It's only 1 to 2 loads of wash.

There are definitely options for strep throat! None of my kids have had it so I've not dealt with kids but I had it. There is a whole section in the book "How to Raise a Healthy Child in Spite of your Doctor" about strep. I've also learned a lot about homeopathy in the past few years and there are options! Yes, it takes a bit longer sometimes and isn't as quick of a fix, but it often means you don't deal with it again. I think it was in that book that I read many people who treat with antibiotics tend to get it repeatedly. That said, I'm not totally against antibiotics and have used them in situations where I felt we needed them, but I do try not to! It was a 10 day battle of strep for me and it was not fun, but I think if I'd known about homeopathy it would have been much easier and shorter. I've never had it since and no one else got it from me.
If the wisdom teeth were crowding you did the right thing. You've done so many of the things people would recommend to help with dental issues, and palates having enough room--raw milk, healthy food, lots of bone broth etc. Some people have been able to avoid certain interventions but it often takes years to decades and isn't always possible. In a situation like yours I would have done the same things with meds and then quickly shifted into healing the gut.
On concussions, I don't think it's necessarily unwise to get the scans. Head injuries should be taken seriously.I had a son who got one and didn't tell us of any symptoms until much later! It went undiagnosed for almost 6 months and then we had personality changes, massive headaches, and vision problems. We didn't do imaging since it was an old injury, but we found an amazing concussion specialist who also did chiropractic and he referred us to another specialist for the vision issues. But we also discovered homeopathy around the same time and I put him on arnica 200 (right after an injury you can do frequently but at least 2 times a day) and Nat Sulph and they were SO helpful! Now anytime there is a an injury that could be problematic, arnica 200 is the first thing I reach for.
