Indeed, it is not always easy to restart a practice that has stopped for a few years. In addition, as you say, there have been small technical changes. Some are from a return to the origins and others are improvements decided by the JKA HQ. Alain Lescaut Bonne année, tes videos sont très instructives.Les blocages dans les katas se font en gyaku keiten , certains enseignants font travailler certains blocages en keiten notamment le shuto dans hian shodan en bout de ligne des tsuki.Si c'est possible, j'aimerai avoir quelques conseils.Encore merci pour tes videos.

One problem with so-called Traditional Karate is they make Kata the test for black belt and other ranks. The only reason I'm not a black belt, hell the only reason I'm not at least 4th Dan is because I kept failing the Kata portion of the black belt test. I was already fighting at 4th Dan fighting standards and could beat two second dans in a 1vs2 handicap match. I think Grand Master Choki Motobu would be disgusted at the way Kata is prioritized over fighting ability in traditional martial arts. It's why very few "Karate" fighters excel in MMA.
