I have played RPGs since 1978 and solo games for the last 5 years or so. I like your oracle it has huge potential stick with it!
Excellent Oracle idea, thanks for that. For the random events how about making Double 1, 2 or 3 a negative random event and double 4, 5 and 6 a positive random event? So in the example you provided, a Double 4, 5 or 6 would mean the rock fall is in the middle of the river creating a walkway, making it easier to cross the river without being swept away by the current. However the walkway will only last for 2d6 turns before it gets swept away (with any player characters standing on it at the time).
I always loved the basic 2d6 advantage/disadvantage system. MUNE also uses it, and it's so simple and effective. Could maybe even add a 3rd die for "extremely likely/unlikely", though not sure how that would play out statistically.
Still looking for a good/simple oracle, I will give a try. Thanks for sharing ☀️
hey! as was said already it looks like Recluse with the 2D6 advantage / disadvantage, but I love your idea of a random event on doubles, especially with the clock mechanic!
thanks for sharing this n_n'.
Really cool ideas. It reminds me of the Recluse Solo Engine by Graven Utterance.
I'm not sure if I have heard of that one. I'll have to check it out.
I like it. I'll give it a go in my solo campaign.
Interesting. I'm going to give this a try and possibly hack it.
Ah, that's clever! K.I.S.S. - Keep It Stupid Simple
