    I have fond memories of WM IV as this was the one my dad took me to see at the old Boston Garden as they had a closed circuit feed.
    They had actually constructed a ring and hung four enormous screens at the Garden to broadcast WrestleMania IV. And they were selling souvenirs, t-shirts, the whole nine. That was a great WrestleMania to watch on closed circuit.

    Amazing intro the Wrestlemania, the likes of which we'll sadly never see again. The music the WWF used back then was great, still gives me goose-bumps.

      You were 50 back then? Sure how old are you now? You must be in your mid 80's? Lol

    The Trophy was to be awarded to the winner of the battle royal. Would have been a nice trophy to award every year at wrestlemania. That opening match battle royal, is better then any I have seen since. It was a real moment in WWF history, completly overshadowed, by the entire evening. Undoubtably the best ever opening Wrestlemania match.

    Wrestlemania's IV and V were two of the best ever. I wish they would go back to Trump Plaza again.

    I saw Savage Steamboat Feb 87 in Vancouver BC during the lead up to wrestlemania III. Savage got himself counted out, it was obvious that was his plan all night. The match at WrestlemaniaIII between Savage and Steamboat is to me the greatest match ever, on the biggest stage ever. It does overshadow the main event looking at it historicaly. Randy Macho Man Savage and Ricky The Dragon Steamboat were two highly conditioned athletes in their prime who put on a show of wrestling excellence.

    Ehclips recalls- WMIV started with a 20 man battle royal. George the Animal Steele never got into the ring. Bad News Brown[Allen] and then heel Bret Hart teamed up to elimante JYD. After Brown and Hart stood victorious, Brown gave Bret Hart a "Pearl Harbour Job" and deliverd a getto blaster [huricanranna]. Brown Won A trophy that stood 6 feet tall. Brett hart returns to the ring beats down Brown, and destroys the trophy, and turns face.

    Good point !!! Just imagine Steamboat and savage went at it again it would of been a rematch from Wrestlemania III. Arguably the best match ever in the 20th century !!!!!

    This was actually the first Wrestlemania that was available in our area on pay per view. The others we had to go the local arena to view.
    It was a very cool moment.

    wrestlemania 4 gave the ball to macho long enough for hogan to make a movie. As soon as hogan came back, they began the angle that broke up the mega powers.

    Ehclips recalls- The Ultimate warrior and Hercules Hernendez wrestling to a double DQ and snapping the chain of Hercules in a tug of war. Axe and Smash Demolition win the Tag Team Titles From Rick Martel and Tito Santana Strike Force. Bobby the Brain Heenan Wrestles with Haku and Tama the Islanders vs The British Bulldogs. Heenan wrestling attire consisted of an attack dog suit.

    It's too bad the PPVs are watered down so much there is no time to build feuds like they did in 80s when you only had 4 PPVs a year rather than now with 1 PPV each month

      anil2 It was held at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, NJ. Guess who owns it? Yep, you guessed it. Donald Trump. He paid big bucks to make it happen for BOTH years.

    • @johnepants
      @johnepants Před 3 lety +2

      One thing people forget these days is that from 1987-1989, boardwalk hall in Atlantic City was the sight of the biggest prized boxing matches of the time, and all were brought into town with Trump’s help, so his name was slapped on as a sponsor. Wrestlemania 4 and 5 were held at the Mecca of prize fights at that moment in time.
