  • This is ral speed, real punch to the face attack and defending with basic parry with wrist lcok and throw from Japanese Ju Jutsu. Great self defence technique when you use the energy of the attacker and redirect with efective wrist lock and throw. There is a simple two steps foot work and hand control for this wrist lock to work - with practise is achievable. Works for me and manyof my students. Remember - keep personal safe space and observation!

I studied Jiu-jitsu for a while a few years back, and one of my fellow students did this exact technique to defend himself against a knife attack; it worked, but the attacker was high on drugs and wouldn't go down until the student broke his arm. Then the pain was enough to get him to fall. He held him down with one arm and called 911 on his phone with the other, and was able to hold the attacker in place until the police arrived and took over. The attacker ended up being changed.

The element of surprise is in our advantage when come to self defence, because of attacker will not know what we are keepable of!

Sorry guys, hate to break it to you, but Liam Neeson, is actually a Black belt in Taekwondo & informally crosstrained in others for films.
So it's not the greatest MA in the world.
But to say "He has never" when a quick Google can confirm or refute a claim.
The lesson here is... Don't assume, check first, confirm your statement before you make it.
Im not trying to be a dick, In fact for a minute I thought you were right, then I remembered he did some martial art but couldn't remember what it was. I had to confirm myself.
So... Yeah, just be mindful and confirm yourself. It avoids arguments too, because a fact is a fact.
      Be awesome.

Pull it off in a real spar or fight against a good opponent, or show someone doing it consistently in those situations, otherwise I'm not a believer.

I watched a Gunnery sergeant strip a dude of a knife using a similar takedown in theatre. Not movie, in combat. It's possible. Remember these arts came from a culture that did this for a thousand years. Japan was at war for a millenia. Judo? Jiu jitsu, karate... HEMA has similar tactics.

This technique will get you killed against a knife and hurt badly against any attacker. The guy who punch you overextend, doesn’t pull back and stop at the end of his motion. A situation like this doesn’t exist in any real world scenario. Please pressure test your techniques in real conditions before showing stuff that you may not even know will get people hurt.

I’ve studied martial arts for 48 years, worked and security in night club in London and locally and I’ve used my martial arts skills many times, I’ve been attracted with knife during door (security work)
As well as scaffolding short pipe, and also screwdriver on the street when I’ve stopped robber breaking in the car and my martial arts skills never have let me down. I’ve trained thousands students over the years and few have to use there martial arts skills also on the street for self promotion or protect others and have worked for them too! If the martial arts practice doesn’t work won’t be the most in door popular activity, and military forces too! You should try sometimes you may even learn something useful!
      🙏👍🏼

@@EZMotionSimpleSelfDefenceThe UFC will never see a move like this because it is useless (it could only work with untrained people who are not remotely strong). Anybody who practices martial arts know pretending this works can get us harmed. It is irresponsible nonsense

@@EZMotionSimpleSelfDefence So what you are saying is that it works on drunk people who dosent know how to fight? And I assume you did it to smaller opponents like your student in the video?
This is a dance move more then a martial arts move.
