If the the “Next” button is still grey after trying this (mine was grey) reset phone completely and redo all steps without removing sim card. When you get into the Settings first connect to wi-fi then update the phone. After update is complete phone will work. :)
So do everything and update last?
Once I get back to the start page and select next after disabling the Google play services and force stopping it, I hit next then got the wait a few moments screen like yours did. Then came up to the screen for phone activation and the icon that is blue that says next on your screen is still grey on mine. I've repeated all my steps even done a factory reset on it to try again but still keep coming up to the same issue. I don't understand what's going wrong.
