- I figured I'd end this year with the release of Absolution - a song that was written originally intended for Echopocalypse, but had to be delayed for various reasons. It was recorded in the same way as all of Echopocalypse.
To quote myself from the release of Echopocalypse:

"I've recorded all instruments, written all of the music and lyrics, recorded, and mixed it myself, as a full 1-man-project. It's been fun, challenging, and rewarding to say the least. Definitely stepping out of my comfort zone by singing, but it's the only thing that makes sense - to express your emotions and tell your story. I feel ready to put this out there, and move on to work on new music.
The drums were recorded quite differently as I've suffered from Tendonitis for the past 6 months. As I can't use my right arm for drumming, the drums were instead recorded in separate takes between kick/snare/toms and cymbals. An interesting approach - something I've never done before. A lot of fun experimentation in general for me, personally!"

This feels like a good closer to this chapter and year - I'm hoping to slowly be returning to drumming in January, and hopefully be back to recording some videos in February. I would also guess that the next music release from me will be instrumental - but we'll see about that, when it's time!

Dynamic range/compression of this production!! You're a CZcams content creator-surely you know your audio levels are going to be normalised to a sensible playback gain/level?! You could have made this sound AMAZING, particularly your drums, to contrast how most modern productions are squashed and weak,,, and suck! - instead, my hifi sounds weak playing this :-( Please, PLEASE consider remix/remaster immediately and amend the audio made available! You've got some+6db you could exploit!! Take advantage!!!
Thank you for the feedback! I am no mix/master engineer for sure, but I would assume in general things sound rather flat after the youtube compression. I do not care enough to put effort into making unique mixes/masters for youtube specifically - and with that said, it's probably not too nicely mixed/mastered as it is, but simply as best as I could do it :) But I appreciate the feedback!
@@maxadrums it's all a journey. Everything you do is certainly already better than i could do, or do :-). I think what you've done is still fantastic with the creativity and performance. Hopefully you enjoyed it and found it rewarding.
Ps:. CZcams upload/publish certainly doesa lot of "data compression", but won't damage dynamics -and the playback level it targets leaves plenty of good dynamic range.
