I'm absolutely not a fan of them raising damage on overkill
I absolutely loved Payday 3s approach of making enemies smarter on higher difficulties instead of just more damaging and it's so incredibly disappointing to me that they're resorting to old tricks so soon
Yeah, wait hold on, didn’t that make a big deal about specifically NOT turning up damage numbers on higher difficulties and that people were really happy about that? Why are they already backpedaling on that?
I do look at buffing health specific damage slightly differently. This is being done to make your health bar actually matter, instead of armour being the only valuable resource.
This. I really, really, really dont want Payday 3 to go the way Payday 2 did. Unlike many others, I enjoy the more grounded and cover based combat we've seen so far.
I worry if they keep doing these 'difficulty tweaks' the same way they did for Payday 2, it'll become the same crazy horde shooter from before
@@donovanjoseph737 You might be mixing things up a bit - the enemy HEALTH doesn't increase across difficulties, but their damage sure does, and has from the very start.

I love how down to earth you are about this, cause everyone is right, the price of this dlc is too much for how little you receive. Payday 2s heist dlcs costed usually around 6-7 dollars and came with the weapons and masks. So 18 dollars for what isn’t even a tenth of the full game is just an actual joke

also, if the PD2 heists added up to $200, sure that’s a lot, but wasn’t that over a ten year lifespan? and you could play most dlc heists one time through using career mode? that’s paying $20 a year. compared to literally every annual release on the market, that’s a steal. besides, you can probably wait a couple years before the new PD3 heist bundles appear in one huge pack like the crime wave bundle. that’s how I unlocked mine.
I also think it’s important to remember that you don’t really have to pay for every heist to play it; if you play with friends of randoms, only one person needs to buy it
You have to bare in mind every single game these days is way more expensive than it once was so they did lowball the game so I think it’s reasonable for them to make this a bit more expensive but I hope they don’t continue with it.

Yeah, this sucks. I think Overkill sold the Border Crossing model of DLC to investors as a new normal, instead of a favor the community was doing for them because they wanted to see Payday 3 survive development.
Payday 2's (before The End) heist DLCs weren't just cheaper, several of them included multiple heists, or also included three weapons like Syntax Error, and cosmetics were pretty much always a baseline. And also, Crimefest 2015 nonwithstanding, the game didn't have cosmetic microtransactions on top of that, which PD3 is going to have some months into next year.
Overkill could've avoided this controversy by putting Syntax Error at around $8 and putting 2 of the weapons in the weapon pack as a free update instead, which IMO would've been far more sensible
I agree, I feel like executives nowadays are so afraid their product will fail they have to fill it with ridiculous micro transactions to make up for it, when in reality if people made good content everyone would pay for it

Agreed, I got the DLC cause I bought the Silver edition. The mission is fine but I don't think there's enough content to sell here À la carte, instead the masks and weapons should've paired with the heist DLC like we used to see back in the day. Setting aside the Taylor pack, you're being asked to pay $13 dollars for one mission and three guns which is a bit much.

10:51 this is the exact type of character that was missing in the animations. Not bothering to drop the empty mag and using it to reload the gun is exactly the type of stuff the Payday gang would do.
It doesnt make any sence, it would work better as a "secret" animation that triggers only sometimes, like the ones from bf hardline

I personally quite enjoy the more stylized reload animations and hope they continue to do more in the future, the AK47 reload animation in Payday The Heist is still one of my favorites.

honestly something small on my wishlist for payday 3 once the game is in a better state overall is for them to add character specific weapon animations like maybe in their weapon inspect animations, chains could give his gun a proper inspection making sure everything works meanwhile wolf does some stupid shit like looking down the barrel or posing with it during a heist and other character related animations for everyone else
10 years ago, november 13th 2013, first pd2 dlc armored transports, releases 5 new heists + bonus secret heist train heist, new weapons and new masks, for 5 euros. 10 years later? 1st pd3 dlc releases 1 heist, 3 weapons, 4 masks and some suits for 18 euros, modern gaming is great guys
This game NEED'S crime net again, I can't get into a populated lobby for the life of me and it just kill's my motivation to play every single time. I don't want to play Payday 3 singleplayer but matchmaking doesn't give me a choice.
And as someone who wants to play singleplayer / friends only, the matchmaking doesn't even give me that option correctly. I have to launch a game with friends only, alone, and sit through a matchmaking queue for literally no reason
As someone who loves customization, we NEED MORE MASK CUSTOMIZATION!!! But they do need to get all of the QOL changes ironed out first
With the initial launch being as poor as it was and the first patch taking a month to roll out I would have thought they'd make this DLC pack around $9.99 for the whole lot, but $17.99 is too high...

@@1337139 I highly doubt you ever did defend it. If you defended payday 3 before this, you would defend payday 3 more now. The past few updates are actually good unlike anything on release... so if you defended them before it sounds counterintuitive that you wouldn't defend them for overpricing a bit (notice inflation). Minimum wage for places like US increased by over 100%. You can buy the DLC bundle within 1 hour of working minimum wage. The heist itself for less time. On top of the game costing 40 bucks in 2023 is insanely cheap. It's the same people whining about 70 dollar priced games when they had no problems about 60 dollar games back in 2003 as if they never heard of inflation before.

I highly doubt you were ever going to buy pd3. Most people who haven't bought it yet will never until it comes out with a payday 3 gold pack similar to payday 2. I never bought payday 2 till it came out with a gold pack too because all those DLC's are 100% a rip off. Which is a reason why I think payday 2's pricing and patch cadences aren't much different than pd3.

It really should've been the one heist DLC, with the masks and weapons included for $10 dollars. The mission itself isn't too revolutionary, the weapons aren't that unique, the cosmetics I like but they too should be add on's.

People are already able to buy less than they could in 2012, and now SBZ is expecting people to pay 18 bucks on a bundle. You can easily eat healthy for three days from that. Or badly for a week, if you're in dire straits.

So I can only assume someone posted(And then deleted) something whinging about inflation, so a counter point on a 2 week old comment because fanboy defenders annoy me on a personal level:
Even accounting for inflation, a $10 DLC from 2013(Which I should point out is MASSIVELY generous because heist DLCs were 7-god-damn-dollars on average) would only be $13 today.
I would also be remiss to point out that the DLC oftentimes came with content that wasn't JUST the heist: Golden Grin for example had weapons and masks on offer. So let's ignore that the heist itself in PD3 is $10, because you're not getting the same amount of content. EVEN if we wanted to use a more generous comparison: Crude Awakening's bundle included a tailor pack, the heist, a weapon pack, and a music pack for $10 VS Syntax being $18, nearly 200% markup.
If y'wanna have a live service game, then whatever, sure, but you have to offer an actual good experience. Christ, as much as I give Darktide shit, at least the new missions and weapons are free as opposed to the inevitable deluge of Pay To Win BS that Payday 3 will inevitably become.
Random thought, What if they put an armor plate in with the overkill weapons? Would grant extra armor when we need it (loud) without having to add anything funky to the game.

btw, i find it really funny that DS put always online onto pd3 to prevent something like this from happening i presume, but it's not even day 2 of the heist being out, and we're already able to play it for free

Syntax Error is my favorite heist from PAYDAY 2. I'm glad they decided to add it to PAYDAY 3. Sadly, it is a little too expensive for me right now.

the Canadian prices are definitely too steep for me. $25 for the bundle is a lot, and even with me having no interest in the cosmetics and a payday crackhead friend to piggyback the heist off of, almost $9 for 3 guns is absurd.

No, not really, This was planned dlc before launch
The DLC was announced to be a thing prior launch (that's what the Silver and Gold Edition stated) and their very early roadmap stated that the first DLC would hit in Winter 2023. So they are sticking to their announced schedule.
And given how loudly the community complains about "lack of content", now they are complaining about content being added. And they just got two free heists not even two weeks ago, so shut up about it costing money, too, please.

@@gimok2k5 We got free heists regularly in payday 2 (every single event, holiday and most classics were all free), massive heists like big bank were 6 dollars and on top of that we also had more than double the launch content and it was STILL considered a bad launch. Stop sucking up to companies for not screwing us over as bad as they could have
I think the FSA-12 is a really good gun for more suppressive fire tactics, its ammo efficiency, good mag size, good rate of fire, and decent damage make it a pretty good option with Heavy Hipfire. With the small buff to Coup de Grâce, 10% extra damage to a staggered target, on top of the easy Edge of Gunslinger, the two-shot range is easier to hit, and its become one of my favourite weapons out of the existing ones. Also never had ammo issues with it, although that is with the ammo funneling combo, but still feels like it was never an issue at all.
The WAR-45 also seems really good, my favourite SMG but that's not really saying much, feels nice and deals alright damage.
The FIK-22 TLR though, that's by far the worst weapon in the DLC pack, I can forgive the FSA-12 not being able to hit close range 1 shot kills as often, but a marksman rifle that can't hit the 1 shot range at all is really bad, feels too weak to have fun with in my opinion,
Another skill point or 2 would also be nice, especially since they've added 2 new skill trees
Sadly Mio says that they won't add more skill points till near end of the year 1 roadmap since we're still getting more skills down the line which they need to evaluate how much skill points we need. Understandable but it would hurt to get a couple of points anyway so it sucks.

I just started Phantom Liberty on CP2077 and man the difference in value in nuts. Dozens of missions, guns, vehicles, outfits and an impressive map to boot for 12 bucks more, compared to what? A single heist and enough cosmetics and guns to count on both hands? smh
the thing i found weird is the weapons. We dont have the Mp5, ump45, Vector, Skorpion and other very iconic smgs, and they added 3 guns with extremely generic modern silluettes that you can barely recognize at a glance
I've taken the gold edition of the game so i owned already the dlc. I'm loving the heist and the lines from the ia, and shoutout for the guns they all feels awesome. I'm especially a fan of the shotgun with ammo build meaning spam shot in melee range

The £15 to spend is way to much for me since I got it base edition. Only level 44 since I'm still getting connection problems with servers so I can't get into games

I noticed that on Xbox series X that the final charge does that a lot. I found it odd when I would have to wait almost a minute for the next wave of cops whne they “weren’t backing down this time”
Another thing that I've noticed with this update is that Pearl has a couple more pager voice lines.

The major limiting factors for me are the big disconnect between how much time the heists take and how long it feels to rank up. Because not only are skill unlocks dependent on using earlier skills (some lines I haven't even started because the starting skills aren't worth it to me), but now weapon levels are separated AND not cross-weapon interchangeable. Not to mention the per-mission character XP.
Then there's the armor just, in general. I don't care for the attrition "thousand cuts" approach the game has.
While I don't want to say "Just make Payday 2, but prettier" but I also can't say that *isn't* what my heart is wanting to scream with so many of the new changes making me not even launch the game.
18 bucks for a bundle... That's nearly half the price of the game for _one heist, three weapons, four _*_uncostumizable_*_ masks and four outfits,_ one of which you'll probably like. Yeah, Starbreeze isn't getting my money if they keep this price point. 10 bucks per bundle and no more.
And for 10 bucks there's plenty of fantastic full-games to buy during a sale. Let alone 20.
my issue with the pricing is that starbreeze knows how to price fairly and also understands prices need to be approachable, payday 2 costs one dollar, then its earliest content only rings up as 26 dollars, then buying the most modern stuff is 33 dollars, with the price of a current modern title you easily get 1000s of hours worth of content
And to think I was arguing with some people who were defending this DLC and Starbreeze. Now, sure they'll get their DLC they " very happily" paid for but in return have to deal with less players due to Starbreeze alienating more players and thus killing their game even more.
Was hoping for more achievements at this point. Payday 2 on steam has something like 1300 different ones to go for. Would be nice if they added some with every new heist in this game like they did with the previous game. Gives people a little something extra to chase.

For the game being online only, you should be able to use dlcs you own on one platform, on the other on the same nebula account. It’s ridiculous to have to pay for the same dlc on the same account on a different platform. You also are unable to use the weapons from the weapon pack that you purchase ingame on another platform, with the game just removing them.
I agree but it isn't a Starbreeze decision. Xbox, Sony, Steam - each takes a ~30% cut of any purchase in their respective online stores. As a result, none will allow content purchased in a competitors store to run on their platforms. They want their cut.

For the weapons, what I can say for now is, the shotgun is a dozer melter, half an mag an the dozer already drops. And for the FIK 22 if you are trigger happy, that thing shots so fast you can clear an hole room in seconds its nuts, but I would never hip fire that thing, the recoil is way to high then. Also I don´t mind for a well made heist and guns to pay 15€, its for to days standards fair enough.
Wow, you would think that after this whole desaster with the launch and losing all the player base, they would at least try to win the community back with some free content (and no, I don't mean old PD2 maps as a thrown bone). Asking 18$ for one map after all this backslash... I get it, that they have to cope with all the refunds for their poor excuse of a game. But this pricetag is just another very bad decision of a game dying or a company in dire needs.

The new DLC itself is over-priced. 18$ for 1 heist, 3 guns, and 4 suits and gloves is nowhere near enough gameplay variety or cosmetic choice to even consider buying this. The heist itself is over-priced, like you mentioned, we paid $5 for each heist in base game, asking for twice that is already kind of absurd, but $6 just for 3 guns, and none of them secondary weapons which desperately need some padding of some kind, really burns me. The most reasonably priced thing is the cosmetics, and that doesn't interest me at all because I'm still in love with the default masks and suits and likely will be for literal years honestly.
Not to mention that Overkill has been far, far better with their pricing in the past. I mean, even now, you can get 20 dlc's and the base game for Payday 2 for twenty dollars and the base game alone is 10. You get 20 DLC's for $0.50 each with that pack. I understand they can't price it that low since it's a new game and it's just released, but come the fuck on guys, really? They're charging me almost the same amount for 1 map, 3 guns, four masks, suits, and gloves, as they are for A whole ass game and 20 DLC's including several guns, heists, and masks, and playable heisters with their perk decks.

Overpriced while we're already low on content. It was nice receiving the free update but that in no way should affect the pricing if dlc as some people think, the price is too much for a game that has a lack of heists, weapons and masks you can proper customise like in Payday 2.

I really hope they consider lowering the price of DLC. One of my biggest issues with Payday and Overkill has always been how predatory and costly all the DLC end up being overtime. I bought the gold edition thanks to the sunk cost fallacy, but I can safely say that after my pre-paid content ends, I will be mooching off my friends if they keep that price point up. That's nearly half the cost of the game with a fraction of the content!!
one thing I hate about pd3's missions so far is it feels like it's already trying to get us into deep conspiracy killing people who have info on us robbing servers and stealing usb stuff man I liked payday 2 because it was about robbing banks and getting cool loot

Canadian here, the DLC altogether comes out to $30, which is more expensive than the USD to CAD conversion of the price. We're being absolutely jipped. Overkill needs to learn their place or they're gonna drive off most the player base and become another game thats stuck milking a niche market of cash cows

If a DLC is half the price of the base game, I better get about half the base game's enjoyment out of it. It's a shame to see the DLC only having maybe 2 hours of content max (if you fail multiple times and are just messing around with friends) when it's so expensive. Games such as MHW are a great example of expensive DLCs that deliver, Iceborne is effectively a new game and is 100% worth it since you'll get double the playtime out of it than the base game.

Until the gold edition upgrade on steam drops, I'm entirely done with pd3. The faq promised us an upgrade at launch, and that was clearly a lie. Who wants to pay $30 per individual dlc pack? Not me.

I’m disappointed with how the end of the Heist in Loud feels like Henry’s Rock mixed with the chance to fail that came from Gold&Sharke’s roof. I also think the process point for non-special edition players is bad as well. Drones also suck, and the techies have no hiding spots outside the actual lab, and drones are brutal, and the zipline asset placement could be better, but is great for moving bags. That being said everything else about the heist is good.

Just a friendly reminder that on top of the awful pricing, unlike PAYDAY 2, this game has barely any regional pricing as well (In fact, it's even 3% more expensive than if I were to pay in USD LMAO).

the crazy thing is that i would totally buy the season pass separately if i could, only reason i didn't get the silver/gold edition at launch was because the game wasn't working and i didn't want to waste money on the garbage tier preorder cosmetics
ofc there's no way to upgrade my edition or purchase the season pass separately, and i am absolutely not dropping nearly $20USD on a single heist, a few guns, and a handful of alright cosmetics lol

really glad I got gold at a discount cuz wow, this one DLC is more than I paid for the season pass section of the gold edition. It doesnt feel like an OVK move imo and im well aware of the rep deep silver have from other devs who have left the publisher. its looking a bit worrying to me

This is some inception right here. Payday 3 is a daylight robbery, the DLC is a daylight robbery, and the mission is a daylight robbery! WOW! The devs really went all out on this one.

as i currently type this Payday 2 Legacy collection is 25.58 Canadian Dollars. The Syntax Error bundle sits at 24.99. At this point it isn't even funny how far Payday has fallen. you'd think for a game centered around robberies the devs wouldn't want to rob their customers

This is truly criminal especially considering you're paying twice the weapons pack just for the heist for a fraction of the content. making this paid for was a mistake considering launch and this just sours any further good faith I have in the game. I'll still play only to see how bad the glaring issues are and to spite overkill at this point.
And my car4s is still lvl 28 with stuck XP... Also leveling those weapons just to get same lame set of parts and barely any performance boost is disgusting, considering how awesome modding weapons were in PD2... Pricing is beyond crazy having silver helps for now but damn its just too little for too much and to think I was happy how reasonably priced base game was...

I have a crew of four, lvl 100+, 3 lvl 140+, and we cannot complete 99 boxes or Syntax Error without stealthing majority of the heist on Overkill, all of us having (mostly) solid heads on our shoulders and bringing meta builds, these heists need some changes for Overkill, and with Syntax in specific, the techie, even on Normal, with her drones, absolutely shreds through armor. I find the rest of the heists balanced fine, some, too easy (Dirty Ice and Touch the Sky) but 99 and Syntax are awfully difficult with the systems in place, there is no reason to play these loud, not only being easier, but faster in stealth. There are my two cents, the rest of the update is great.

I dont want to be that person, but it really is a skill issue. If i can complete 99 Boxes with a friend on OVK, loud from the beginning in around 10 minutes (with all loot possible, no downs) you should be able to do it with a crew of 4 players. If you dont have the dps to stop the constant flood of cops or dont want to force the objective just wait inside a container and do the circles in the break. For the thermite objective camp behind the small box just behind the flare and you should befine. 99 Boxes is pretty easy if you dont stand around in the open.
Sounds like good DLC but as a normal edition owner won't buy until I can buy the season pass so I can save money overall so I don't get shafted buying each bundle individually.
