In my previous short i talked about the canon human design of angel dust that viv made a couple years ago. A similar situation happened with alastor, but it’s not as cut and dry so i’ll break it down.
So in 2019 a now deleted artist called pieofpieee made this human design of alastor.
Vivziepop then drew this human design in a livestream, allegedly saying it was pretty accurate to his real design and she put the image up on her twitter after.
So after this event, this design of alastor became the most popular rendition of him by fans.
Since it was 5 years ago, prior the release of the pilot, i’d say this design is likely non canon. Nonetheless i think the story is really interesting, and i hope we get an updated version of alastor’s human form in the future.

I think the drawing of human Alastor works WAY better than the human of Angel Dust
Angel's looks weird to me because instead of making Angel a genuine human, they're trying to make the human version of angel look like the demon version of Angel, so his head and hair is extremely weird to look at. It is almost uncanny.

@@ibraahimdureng7482but not that much. look at how the other characters get portrayed in human form v their demon form. now look back at angel's -they're completely right about the face hair & overall head, particularly the jaw if you ask me. he doesn't even look different: plus the one I saw, his skin is like. the same shade of alabaster white. I wanna say along with his hair, which neither would be a big deal if they humanized his facial features a bit more

When she drew the sketch on the livestream, she even said she always worries about drawing things like it, since people will take it as canon even though she’s not had time to properly design it. So I’d say deffo not cannon. Need more Al in my life though.
This brings such peace and clarity to my soul because I actually hate that design for my own silly reasons and have only very recently come to tolerate it due to there apparently being no stable alternative 😂

Okay cool idea, we get a prequel series about the human life of the main cast and what lead to their deaths, maybe a character each episode, or less important characters combined in a couple episodes, and we could call it hazbin histories or smthn

Yeah! It can be a short series. Just 20 min episodes for each main character to get a quick overview of their lives

For some characters it would probably ruin a few story things, though. Alastor is kept purposely mysterious, we don't know a lot about Niffty but she probably isn't what she seems, etc. I do hope humam backstories get revealed naturally through the show, though.

Well, people who are mixed race can definitely be white passing, even pretty pale, but it’s nice to see mixed characters who have traits from both sides of their DNA, not just pale with straight hair!
It would make sense if he’s more white passing. I don’t think there were too many black or racially ambiguous people that would be able to have their own radio show. Segregation and racism were very much a thing during his time.
I was half-expecting him to say something about a controversy about the design being so white. I'm guessing he just didn't mention it or there was- somehow -no Twitter moment

I know people will complain about Alastor looking white, but i was actually surprised people were surprised by that.
Like the dude was a cannibalistic serial killer who practiced voodoo and ran a radio station in the 20s. He had to have been white passing to get away with it.
Black people couldn't even be suspected of something with out the chance of a mob execution till like the 90s.
Also it would maybe be an interesting reflection on his afterlife. Alastor loves his mother who is confirmed to be in heaven, many white passing kids would have to separate from their non passing family to successful pass. So might be an interesting comparison for Alastor to he separated in life and death by the one person he loves.

I just hope that if this is the case (which is also the conclusion I came to seeing how white-passing he was), they actually make it so it's intentional and not just an afterthought.
But he has zero ethnic features as it stands, and ik they aren't all the same (I'm POC, mixed too), but he would have ethnic features.

I’ve always loved this design for him but i do think his color palette would be darker. Love all other aspects though, would love to see an episode that canonizes human designs!

Was watching the whole series with my dad, he’d always bring out the fact the characters were all the same: beautiful long straight and lustrous hair, skinny figure, tall
I brought out Mimzy for him and he said “well that’s just one” and now it’s got me thinking if their human designs would be all the same

edit: maidenofhusbands and a few others made some good points and while i still don't know how i feel about his design just on a personal tastes level i change my statement on it being really bad mixed rep, mixed people come in a bunch of different appearances as the term mixed suggests
i really hope they change that a lot cause if they try to say he's mixed and then make that his canon design i'll tear my face off
mixed people can turn out pale too. People over here have family that look like damn gradients with how much it can vary (we're mixed with native, european and african so theres plenty on the gene pool to pick from)
There's a different design vivize has said is very accurate and it shows him to have browner skin and darker hair.
You can actually see it in this video where he shows the different designs on the web image search. It's the one at the bottom captioned "found the actual Alastor Human..." and it cuts off, he's also wearing a red vest unlike the others.
@@j.a.r.5974 yeah i fully get that but that design removes any of his mixed features, it makes him look entirely white as opposed to mixed creole as he's intended, i'm partially mixed myself and even though it's a bit less notable on me in comparison to my late-mother who was directly mixed it's still noticeable, i'm just saying that even if they keep him pale they can even just do something like give him textured hair or a different nose shape

His human design is cool but if his hair was short while he was alive, he probably would've cut it. He must like his hair to not cut it so it was probably longer while he was alive.
I wanted to see fanarts where alastor still has the same hairstyle (minus the ears).. And I forgot that I can draw so.. maybe I'll try to draw him and his haircut as accurately possible and see if he looks ridiculous (not saying his haircut is ridiculous, I meant it as my drawing..😅)

I think it has to do with possibly hunting a Deer, not being too much light and hon bending down and Bam.
I think similar have happened before, nothing about looks really. Forests, Shadows, what they Hunted before shooting Them etc
I am pretty sure he did not look like a Deer as a human and No human look like a Deer, so by that logic it is not possible at all he got mistaken despite drawikg being Canon or not.

I honestly hope this stays canon. If we do get an episode of the main cast in their past human lives, I hope this stays canon in the show for Alastor because I really like this human design for him 😅
It does frustrate me that hes both very pale, and that his hairstyle is not one that would have been common or stylish in the 1930's
Him being able to be a radio host and do all the stuff he did, would make more sense if he was white passing, if you want to be realistic about it.

Lowkey I heard that Alastor is mixed (like biracial) so either he’s tanned or have brown skin and I didn’t know how to draw his design since I know DAMN well that people will probably burn me to death after making him “too black” even if he’s Creole..💀
im very interested in the lore behind how sinners change into demonic forms... if they have power over what their souls become or if it's based on their personality or aesthetic. i have no idea if there's ever been any explanation though.
