What kind of problems? I would imagine after so many years of her husband would be fed up with the flirting, especially now that the show is almost over. I can see Sam being mad about the director job going to Cait and not him as well. He did a lot of work to promote that show and I suppose he feels he had it coming. And she went out on her own to get the job not including him. They always worked as a team before. So a lot of true colors are starting to show Though to be honest she gets to direct one scene, I don’t think that makes her a director

And no, she has directed a few scenes in S7 and will direct a full episode in S8.
