  • The ALEXA 35 Lightweight Set includes a number of new and unique mechanical support parts designed for single operators, small crews and lightweight rigging scenarios. In this video, Product Marketing Manager Sean Dooley will take you through the process of building the Lightweight Set, and give you a little bit of info on each of the components and what you can use them for.
    Please note: we have incorrectly labelled the LCH-1 as being "not included" - it is definitely included in the ALEXXA 35 Lightweight Set!

    love these videos, and esp. having mechanical experience, seeing a camera 'tech' use a star pattern to tighten the screws, GOOD job, it applies force evenly on a large, multi fastener part. (also unlike 'Gaffers' actually using the RIGHT tools, not just an open ender or a 'monkey wrench', a well under used common sense decision making approach).

    At 3:14 why do you recommend turning wifi off in the camera if you take of the antennas? Is it bad for the camera or the human or something? I've been operating my Mini for 6 years without the antenna because it gets in the way and I still get good enough signal to my phone. I hope I don't develop a mutation or something. Thanks!.

      Hey there, it's always best practice to turn off a radio transceiver if it doesn't have an antenna attached, as it's possible to damage the transceiver to do "foldback", particularly with high powered devices. - Sean

      @@ARRIChannel thanks I really appreciate that reply! You think I got away with it because I always kept a rubber cap on the port, or because the Mini isn't as high powered as the 35, or just got lucky?

    Will there be a bridge plate for VCT, similar to the broadcast plate for the Alexa Mini?

    • @ARRIChannel
      @ARRIChannel  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Richard, we're expecting third party manufacturers to come to the market with VCT-compatible plates in the short term, but we're looking into developing a plate specifically for the broadcast market.

    I’d love to see side brackets made from titanium so they maintain their rigidity but weight less than the steel brackets

      Thanks for the suggestion, this was looked into, but would have more than tripled the cost!

    Step 1: Sell your house to afford this kit

    • @gianlucapistoia8993
      @gianlucapistoia8993 Před 2 lety +5

      Step 2: instead of selling your house, start renting the camera through the thousands of rentals in your city
      Step 3: Once you're established enough in the industry and you have a few jobs per month (that are large enough in budget size to be able to shoot with an Arri), then move on to step 4
      Step 4: Approaches (as a private individual) a third party dealer. These have, like car sellers, different installment models. There you choose the best model for you and continue to step 5.
      Step 5: Now, in addition to your normal fee, you also offer the camera with which you want to do these jobs. So the camera pays off by itself and depending on the order situation, it goes extremely fast. Congratulations you are now the owner of your own Arri cam and can continue to live in your house.

      @@banemcmusic Step 6 (extra): Because you work so much and are on different projects with different people, you also have a large network and can also rent out your camera if you should not need it :0
