Frig! I did not know this about Dio not being included in Black Sabbath's induction! It's bad enough he was not inducted based on his monstrously good solo works contributions to metal. This truly is the last straw for me in regards to the RRHOF... No Dio with Sabbath? Metal fans might think they are 'lucky' to have Sabbath inducted period! Personally I don't. I no longer have one shred of credibility to bestow on this pathetic excuse for a hall of recognition. To me this organization means NOTHING but shame! I still respect those who do accept their inductions because I believe (most) deserve (a) hall of fame type recognition for themselves and their fans but I have even greater respect for those who refuse acceptance on the basis of the hall's total lack of integrity to their operations. What the people need is a new RR HOF that is put together by a good number of impassioned people who care about music and music history more than the dollar. They would have to be willing to run the hall as a non-profit operation. Donations, admission fees, HOF concert revenue sharing (between artists and hall) are some examples of how to keep the boat afloat and integrity would be its cornerstone. There would be no need to charge guest band members of inductees $10,000 per dinner plate to share in the 'honour' that some of them are unjustly denied for themselves! No, the new hall would let in those who are deserving right away! No financially (only) motivated trickle down admissions causing decades of delays and denials to worthy inductees. Assuming good music is still being made today, later bands and artists would be accepted as they prove themselves. You guys out there with the money, let's make it happen!!

Every time I think of this song, I remember being a teenager, calling my local rock statuon during request hour and saying "can you play Holy Diver?" The guy saying "what is it, 1987?" (This was in the 2000s) and then proceeding to hear it in the rotation for the next few months. Even that dude knew how hard this song rocks.
