60 Minutes of Binaural Woodland Ambiance (Nature Sounds Series #6) Trickling Stream & Birds Sounds

- Enjoy the relaxing, calming sights and sounds of this HD nature scene recorded at sunrise in the Pennsylvania Woodlands during Spring. The audio was recorded with Binaural microphones which create a true 3D sound. So headphones are recommended for the full immersive effect of the sounds of this natural woodland environment as it should sound as if you are right in the heart of the woods, with the trickling stream at your feet and the sounds of birds all around you while the sun shines and moves through the trees over time during sunrise. You will hear various calls and songs of birds such as Blue Jays, Crows, Eastern Towhees, Red-bellied Woodpeckers and more.
I hope this brings you peace of mind, relaxation, stress relief, sleep and possibly even used for meditation and as a study aid.
Note: Because of my Acoustic Neuroma in my left ear, I don't hear in stereo anymore, so I don't know what this sounds like in stereo or how good the binaural audio is. I had to do some magic in post production to remove unwanted noise, mostly being airplanes flying overhead. So any audiophiles out there who have sensitive ears and pick up any inconsistencies with the audio because of my editing, you'll have to forgive me. Hopefully it is not too bad.

I really love that this is legit in-the-woods sound recorded at the same time the video was captured. The binaural mics combined with earbuds and the proper volume setting really transport me to the scene. Thanks so much for putting this together. Wish there were many more of these! I've always loved the sound of wind through pine trees, so if you get bored and wanna make another video, I'd listen to that!

I hear an Ovenbird. Actually, two. They sing to one another while they feed, sometimes synchronizing it. Also hear a Pileated Woodpecker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Wood Thrush, and others. Thanks for posting.

I grew up, and revisit often, a stream such as this to photograph and just sit quietly and relax. My stream is just over Sharp Mountain from Middleport, Pa. and down the road a piece from Heisler's Dairy store. Most recent trip 9/14. Thanks for the reminder.

Do you use a wind shield on your mic? Cause that’s how you prevent wind and noise!

I like it - though it would be nice if it faded out at the end rather than abruptly stopping.
What kind of camera did you use? I would like to get back into photography and also make some nature videos myself. But I'm on limited funds, so if you could even point me in the right direction, that'd be great. Thanks
David Petronovich Olympus OMD-EM5. It's weather proof. There are modern iterations of the camera. It's micro four thirds format. Almost dslr.

Unfortunately sound localization in the median plane (front, above, back, below) in binaural recording is specific for every listener. That means only you can localize the sound on the median plane because the microphones were in your ears (that should work even if you cannot hear on one ear). In contrast, the left/right localization is unspecific and works for everyone (except if you cannot hear with both ears :( ).

I can never sense the real "3d" part of the sound. The sound of water is coming as if someone is pouring water right next to my ears. The birds, on the other hand, do really feel as if they are far away.
