Halford's non-Priest projects do not get NEARLY enough recognition. Even the missteps are BALLSY missteps from an artist who could have taken the easy road and chose not to. All props to Halford!
He didn't need to go Solo, he let the fans and his band mates down because of his ego. And what was accomplished? hardly anyone can mention any decent songs from his solo career.
Jack The Skipper You mean like this one you found yourself commenting on? Or Resurrection,Made in Hell,Locked and Loaded from the first Halford record. Handing Out Bullets or Heretic from Crucible. Ok you got me on Made of Metal except the title track.
I bought this cd almost 30 years ago and keep coming back to listen to it. The sound of the metal is raw and pure. Strong and heavy. A real gem. Love it forever
I saw Fight with my brother and 2 cousins at Coogee. Sydney Aust. , mid 90s. We're all Priest fans. Rob did an in store meet n greet . I went by myself and he autographed my British Steel CD. I met my musical idol. After the Fight concert, all 4 of us had sore necks for the next few days. It was brutal, bad ass Halford metal. Awesome albulm, awesome gig . Memories.
I learn of Rob Halford in 1993 thru Headbanger's Ball with his Traditional Groove Metal band Fight. I wish Rob Halford reformed Fight before he does retire.
This first fight record was just as good as the first vanhalen..or guns an roses first..great heavy metal!! It's my favorite stuff to cover by halford..I sing too..I've been rocking priest since sad wings..I'm 60💪🇺🇲🇺🇦
People dont understand just how FCUKING HEAVY Fight truly was! The very first time i heard any of Fight, I was like 😮😊. This is one group i wish i could've seen live. Only born in 87, I missed out on seeing Metal during its ABSOLUTE PEAK between 1980-1995 or so. SO MANY concerts and memorable times! Nothing i can do but just keep on supporting the dream, metal!
Escuché "War of Words " por primera vez haciendo fila para entrar a un concierto en el año 94. Desde entonces he seguido escuchando ese disco casi adictivamente muchísimas veces hasta el día de hoy, es sin duda uno de mis discos favoritos de la vida.

Listening to Freewheel Burning via bluetooth and just as I was cruising the newly paved Loop 303... As the lyrick "WE'RE SPITTING FLAMES" was sung...a Fucking shooting star ripped across the night desert sky! I knew right then and there that "METAL RULES THE WORLD"! Yeah! That was HEAVY DUTY!⚙🔥🤘⛓🎼🎧🎹🎙🥁🤪
Rob Halford... Fuck... absolute God in Metal, We've lost Dio, Kilmister, and a shit load of some real pioneers of Metal... Thank God for CZcams so all their material can live on!!! Judas Priest is one band... seriously.. the fans will never let them retire lol....
What a great band. The voice of Rob Halford combined with Jay Jay Brown on bass, Scott Travis on drums, Brian Tilse and Russ Parrish (Satchel) on guitars
I whent to see Fight in St Kilda back in the day and I have to say still the best concert I have ever seen they were on fire so cool I wish music was that good today #best time for music 90s
Long time Priest fan, just discovering Rob’s solo projects. Underrated is an understatement. He left and took a risk, allowing for a bit more freedom of expression. Such a talent, may you live forever Metal God \m/
I saw Fight at the lime light a place that used to be a church in new york city, they open for Anthrax, people went crazy when Fight played Breaking the law!!!
That was part of the inspiration for Fight Rob heard them and other groove metal bands that were out at the time . Fight=groove metal! and it was good! except maybe the remixes lol
I always felt that this band was very underrated, their 2 albums were great. Rob's solo career was amazing too and it's great that he returned to JP but this was great
Though I know every Rob's song, though I watched videos with him thousand times, but when I watch some Judas Priest video after this one (Johnny B. Goode, for example was only 5 years before that video) I'm always being shocked how dramatically he changed his style, look and Voice! What a change! Definitely, Rob Halford is The Master of Changes (and not the Victim like you could think =)
I go back to 'The Old Grey Whistle Test' for musical enlightenment as a kid and must say Mr. Halford...You have one of the best rock vocal ranges I've ever heard to this day. 25 years....! (pun)
I love the War of Words Album!!! Makes me remember two legendary nights with Fight and The Organisation (ex Death Angel) kicking ass live in Germany,October 1993!!!

Luck I met Rob out front of whiskey go go back when stained class album was released, will never forget that show it was amazing. The guitar riff is the fuckn truth.
My coworkers and I have a band. We stopped at a "big box" music store to pick up a few little things. Just as we were leaving a group of teen aged boys strutted in. Then one started playing the drums. The other guys started grabbing guitars off the wall. One of kids said "hey old man...this is how it's done". They started playing...God knows what...and proceeded to embarrass themselves. So...my buddies and I picked up the guitars and our band's drummer sat behind the drum kit. The kids started laughing at us. We are 5 guys in our 60's still in our business suits. We played one song "immortal sin" just like on the album. We put the guitars back on the wall and walked out. You could have heard pain drop. Love that song!
Not alot of people knows this - the guitarist (with a top hat) who plays the short solo is actually Russ Parish (before he became Satchel from Steel Panther). you're welcome.
Wasn't fortunate enough to see Judas Priest live but got to see Fight live during their war of words tour. And they especially Rob didn't disappoint. I liked the bass influenced slow tempo wailing vocals Fight produced. Long live Metal 🤘🤘❤
Halford-tera. Ha! Reminds me of living in Mesa, AZ in the early 90's - they would play Fight on the local rock station all the time, since most of the members were local, including Rob.
Two and Fight Rob living his truth, it's a shame he felt like he had to wait so long in his life to come out. Have so much respect and admiration for him🤘🤘 Best wishes from Phoenix♥️
All of the Metal God's projects were totally awesome!! How can you beat great musicians and the greatest metal voice!? Ya can't!! Totally underrated but Halfords fan's now!!
This is a TOTALLY underrated album! Killer metal, Halford style, every track is solid. My go-to with noise cancelling headphones when on a plane. Anyone who hates on Fight hates on Metal.
I'm glad I found this, this is what metal is supposed to be.
Halford's non-Priest projects do not get NEARLY enough recognition. Even the missteps are BALLSY missteps from an artist who could have taken the easy road and chose not to. All props to Halford!
Well said!

He should be in the hall of fame for Priest and his solo work.
He is bad ass
Hello yes! 2wo is so awesome and I wish Halford did more with John 5
It's incredible how much underrated is Halford's solo carrier.
I know, right? THE METAL GOD. 'nuff said.

This song is so simple yet so heavy. That's why i fuckin' love metal.
Exactly, some of the best jams are slow. That is true metal when it grabs you.
I'm 55, and this is one of the best metal albums of all time.
54 here, brother.
I'm 14 and Rob Halford is the fucking METAL GOD
15 here pal why does it feel like no good artists have come out since the 80s
Except for the few greats
ahem, not it's not)))
When Metal is this good, it cannot die.
Satchel on guitar!!! ✌🏻🤘🏻
Great memories, thank you Rob, been a fan of your work since I was 15.
This song screams "90's"
The guitar rhythm tone in this album is fucking stellar
Ken T One of the meanest, ballsyest, heavyest and full of testosterone guitar tones in History...
Reminds me of Painkiller
Yeah. Actually the overall production and tone sounds closer to "We Die Young" by Alice in Chains Facelift album

I don't know what's more 90"s; the guy wearing a Dr. Seuss hat or Halford's baggy pants.
The guy with the Dr Suess hat is Satchel from Steel Panther
@@apollojay1 you're a tool. At least hes working hard to keep good music alive
The kids look like they're from the 80s though.

Anyone read Halford’s book? What a life. What a talent. I also caught his interview on Jay Jay French’ s podcast. Great guy too.

Halford and Priest in the 90s, both just biding their time, waiting for the day grunge would get over with.

I still think even now that fights war of word was rob Halfords best album ever.
Loved fight! Love everything Rob's done. Amazing career, but his solo ventures were definitely under-rated .
It’s crazy how at any time this man with a deep voice could take it as high as he wanted
His voice is naturally high layed.

Torn by the wrath that burns like a buried flame
Crossed in the heart from this voice thats a nagging pain
Snared to the book of God with a twisted fear
Help me from being damned by a righteous spear
It's immortal sin
It's immortal sin
It's immortal sin
Chained with a crooked stare that conceals a lie
Choked on a love that's judged from an evil eye
Lost in a world of hurt through a sense of doubt
Take all the numbing grief let the poison out
It's immortal sin
It's immortal sin
It's immortal sin
It's immortal sin
