I like the under desk storage that you have developed
Glad you like it! I’m very happy with it as well! Well worth the effort:-)
You should tell how you make it! Nice set you have!
Forgot to mention/FAQ:
- The mounts I use are Monstertech table mounts(2x long and one standard) and MFD (swivel) mounts. Perfect for this kind of hybrid setup.
- Mouse pad is made from a piece of wood on a folding shelf bracket.
- Normal office chair with home made cut out. made with a hack saw, knife, needle&thread.
Let me know if you guys want an in depth walkthrough/review of anything.
Yes, I can't stand monstertech's default bolt based adjustment, I'm interested in the levers and if there's a low profile one for right side joysticks. I had to hammer out the black plastic out of mine so I could use an Allen key to get in there and adjust the "depth" of my stick after changing my desk setup.
Dude its amazing! Where did you get those brackets for holding it under the desk? Im using quite similar setup and want to do sometning just like that!
@@MarkanHT Thanks! I built the shelves myself. Using 2x4s, heavy duty shelf rails, aluminium brackets and a few pieces of wood for the shelf (needs to be the same thickness as the desk so you don’t have to adjust the MT mount).
Really luv how organized and tidy it is, well done!
Great set. I myself own a HOTAS throttle and rod kit . I also have VR goggles and I think there is nothing better than this combination for game immersion.
Congrats on an amazing setup ! I bet it feels lovely to fly around in it :)
Really great job! I’m starting a P51 simpit, loved the ideas to keep the modules under the desk!!
That is a beautiful, functional setup you have there. That stick with the force feedback, that is cherry. Jealous as hell dude. 10/10
Absolutely awesome man. Ive never been big on one to one simpits so I love the modularity you have in place
Appreciate it! Yeah, when space is limited I had to be a bit creative. Still a lot of possibilities to expand if I need it.
Love this setup I like the under desk storage. I like how u can transform your sim/office space
That slider under the table storage is so smart!
Is it though? It seems like it makes using the desk quite cramped most of the time.
Thank you Willdass, I have been building a full a Full Harrier simp I but was reticent on the fact that I could not really emulate anything else properly on it. You have now given me a solution.
Awesome! Good luck!
I'm liking the drawer/computer slides! Well done. And that wacom solution is pretty intriguing.
Thanks mate! Yeah, Wacom+ OpenKneeboard is a game changer in VR.
Great set up man 👍 thanks for letting us see and happy siming
Nice done, clean install with lots of thought put in design and usage.
This is one of the best flight sim setups I’ve ever seen!
Thank you so much!
the fact that it all folds back up under the desk is AMAZING!
Thank you mate!
Oh man this is the set up im going for. Have been using the Win Wing mounts for the Super Taurus and Libra for 2 years now. Just havent been able to get over how expensive the monster mounts are for basically something I could fab from McMasterCarr. Would also like to incorporate the takeoff panels, mfds and icp exactly like this although havent aquired them yet. Great job!
This setup is amazing! I will build this myself one day
Nice one of the best setups I have seen
uauu really functional i want that too😊 much expensive stuff but the joy comes already in first flight
enjoy👏👏👏
Super clean setup!
I wish I could visit you and sit there man that looks awesome
LOVE that setup buddy
I'm impressed. You should be in business building setups for people. This was inspiring and inspiration is definitely a prerequisite to what you introduce here. If a person is not willing to dream about how to make it work better, this hobby being presented I mean? Then this hobby is not for you. It takes a great deal of commitment and critical thinking to commit to this hobby, and money.. Some people become engineers, and that's great, while others whom demonstrate to possess the same skillsets, "fly with us". We're all engineers up here.
Great video, and great setup. I'm a tad jealous.
Appreciate the kind words! Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video :)
Dude you aren't an engineer because you cobbled together something for your hobby, get over yourself.
Really like your setup! Im also building a modular setup 😁
Well this is definitely a setup worth aiming for! Though I'll be happy to get some turtle beach gear soon hopefully for my xbox at least
It's weird the videos we choose to delete from our viewing history so our wives don't get concerned about potential spending decisions.
Very nice setup, I'm stealing the Simgears f-16 Icp for sure!
Thanks!! You will be blown away how easy your life becomes in VR with an ICP. Very good quality as well!
Magnificent!! 👏👌🏆🥇
thats absolutely wicked
Thanks mate!!
I must say that this setup is AMAZING!!! I have the WW F18 Throttle and Stick and love them both. I use the Quest 2 with Airlink to i9 13500k and 4090. DCS runs great but I’m more into Warbirds so I spend most of my time in IL-2.
Happy Flying!
Thanks man! That’s a great setup you have there! Enjoy it!
Is the 4090 worth it?
@@Datttsnake for VR, definitely!
This is insane.
Great setup! I just finished a similar rig that I made tons of custom things with from my plethora of extra monstertech profiles and tons of Amazon bought hinges, brackets, etc, etc. I have lots of winwing, including their F16 force sensing stick. I love it for the side stick. Two virpils setups, two winwing sticks and bases and also the super Taurus as well as the F16ex. Boys and their toys :)
That's awesome dude, hope you enjoy it! If I were to upgrade more it would be a Hornet UFC and Viper throttle, not happening any time soon though as I need to figure out how it would fit into my storage solution.
I posted an unlisted video for a couple friends. I decided to buy two left and two right MTS Hotas setups so I could have them quick swappable. The keyboard and mouse tray swing under the MIP for when I mount it. Basically having so much requires me to store some things elsewhere, but still only a small amount of time to swap the MIP to my redbird Yoke. In this clip I have a lot mounted at once but am still waiting on my left virpil prime in this video. I'll be uploading a finished video when I get my monstertech seat. Still a few months out on that though. This video is my sim channel unlike the one I'm currently commenting from.

@@danhoven sick setup!!
The problem with this is what is known in the music world as Gear Acquisition Syndrome: Gas. What do you do when it comes to actually getting better at flying? I had the same issue with guitars, I learned how to install frets, and even modified a cheap guitar to be much nicer, instead of getting better at playing.
@@einarabelc5 Haha, I've heard of that (and other terms), but that comes down to the individual and their laziness. I have spoiled myself with my keyboards and music accessories (tons of them) and although some I changed my mind on that were compulsive buys, most I used to their limit and it pushed me to learn more in the process. I don't read music but play drums, guitar and piano and get better every day. If anything, this new rig has put a stop to my original music schedule while I learn everything (and I do mean everything). My ass is killing me because it's been planted on my temporary seat while I await my pilot seat all weekend and have learned MUCH more than I ever would have. Can't speak for most peops, but it's motivated me to get my moneys worth and in a few months it will be full motion also :) The key to it is to do all the spending between girlfriends so you can follow through without being crippled by an angry woman. or have her leave you when you put more into your passions than her.
THAT RAZER GAMEPAD USAGE IS FUCKING GENIUS! I am stealing that
I bought a whole Next level Racing Rig. Same kind of tubing as Monster Tech. Flight chair and not even going to say how many parepheral and the like. Seeing your setup makes me feel like I have wasted a TON of money. Not going to lie about this. You have done an amazing job. I am jealous for all the wrong reasons. Feel like a bit of a fool now. Your setup in my own opinion. Is much better than mine. You have the imagination and organization to create something great. Nice job for sure.
Thank you for the kind words! I would really love a rig like the one you have, but my space would not allow it so I had to get a bit creative!
What you have seems to work just fine. At least from what I could see. Not saying the NLR system is at all bad. Just that I could have spent that money on different things .@@Willdass
@@durazellpcgaming for now it is amazing! Major downside is the chair. Need to upgrade to one that doesn’t rotate or move. I’m also a bit limited when it comes to multiple throttles, but that is a problem for future me.. haha
Love the set up! I’m about to make the switch from console to VR because I’m so interested in DCS. I hate to ask but I’m clueless and was wondering what a set up like this would cost top to bottom. Just subscribed as well! Thanks man.
Thanks! You will not regret it, DCS in VR is an amazing experience!
It's a difficult question to answer. I have a pretty beefy system and all of it is by no means necessary to have a good experience in VR. I have slowly upgraded my pit over 4 years and bought most of the items on sale. Prices have gone up on most of the parts since then ( all parts are listed in the description if you want to check current prices). I probably spent 10-15k USD in total over the 4 years (for the whole setup). But I have also helped friends start their DCS VR journey with 2.5-3k budgets (for PC, VR headset and Hotas).
Thanks for watching and subscribing, I'm in the middle of a move now but content will resume soon :)
Sieht echt geil aus
Dude, wow.
Very very nice.
If you want to be able to quick release certain aspects of your setup you might want to look at QR4Rigs. I have two, one for a Virpil CM3 throttle, the other for a Virpil CM3 base with an Alpha Prime on a 200 mm extension. I built a couple of custom Monstertech clones as I wanted longer than they offered. Only had the quick release for a week but rock solid. They also accommodate force feedback wheels and pedals so should be fairly heavy duty. Can’t comment on that yet though.
Cool, will check it out! Thanks!
interesting about that f-16 stick base
Sieht echt coool aus
"Oh, and I've got this Varjo Aero. And it's nice, too."
Lol! I’m pretty lucky to own it for sure! Thanks for watching:-)
Really nice...and seemingly really expensive but well done. Would you mine sharing the "notepad" you use. I have been stuck in Apple's ecosystem for 30+ yrs and only purchased a PC for DCS ~1 yr ago...I have numerous old iOS devices---iPads including iPad Pro...also have an app called duet that allows integration into the PC or use as mini monitor but your writing pad seems more applicable. With your SimGear flip up/down directly in front of you it appeared at 1st you used what appeared to be Go-Pro attachments but you stated was from Monstertech...Very clean and ergonomically planned...Cable management is outstanding....curious how many Hubs or ancillary devices either for power or the peripherals you need...Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much!
The notepad is a Wacom Intuos S Bluetooth.
The mounting for the ICP is actually Monstertech mounts for the WinWing panels (center version). Since I mounted the WinWing panels directly on the table mount I had some spare parts.
I have two usb hubs under the desk, one for each of the sliding rails. Think they have 8 ports each.
A review of the simshaker jetpad would be good.
Cool!
Nice
wow, just wow
That's an awesome setup. There's just one thing I don't get, and that's the rolling, swiveling chair. I have to have a sturdy chair that does not move, especially for dogfighting.
Thanks man! Yeah I agree, would be better to have a chair which can be locked in place. When my chair is worn out I plan on getting the Monstertech chair with rotation stopper and wheel brakes. But for now I’m good:)
@@Willdass I'm using a patio chair (doesn't look very fancy) on tile with rubber stoppers, with the same seat pad as you, with a bass-shaker hooked up to it, straight from a speaker jack with no software. It picks up what a subwoofer would, as opposed to events in the game. It's surprisingly more immersive. I think you'll find that when you're seat is really firmly in place, your flying is much more precise. AAR is a lot easier.
Ok I didn't want to say this because I might be wrong but with that sort of setup, you must have lots of spare income. Literally the most expensive of everything but also the best use possible. I love the custom monstertech setup and what you did with the warbird base. You must be single.
Very fortunate to have some spare income for my hobby. But it’s not like this whole setup was built in a day, I have upgraded over three years and saved a lot on sales:-)
That is a really nice setup and mounting system and exactly what I need only without the center stick but still using the center mount for the F16 ICP and MFD. Ive looked on MonsterTech's site but didn't see it and maybe I over looked it, Is the black L shaped bracket attached to the acrylic ICP panel a MonsterTech item or did you fabricate it? Thanks and again that is really nice setup!
Thanks! It is a Monstertech item, the L shape bracket is for a Winwing panel, center option. Since this video I have upgraded the ICP mounting solution and bought the Simgears box, and mounted that to a Monstertech center mfd bracket.
A bit bulkier, much much nicer and stores away the same way. imgur.com/a/Hg7061v
I like the storage and rail system under the desk seems like a good idea. How did you get a strap fitted to the Razer keypad I don't think that is standard?
Thx mate!
Made the strap using some elastic bands and velcro tape. Same with the other kneeboard.
Great setup. If you haven’t already, look into how to PointCTRL… and the VP Force Rhino FFB stick. It’s amazing. I can’t go back to non feed back sticks… except for the Realsim stick which I also have. Pairs nicely with the WW Viper throttle
Wow! Really impressed, any guide or info on how you realized everything under the desk?
Thanks man! Per shelf: 2x telescopic slide rails (600mm, 45kg) mounted on a 2x4. The shelves are then attached by a aluminium angled bracket found in a hardware store (not sure about the type), cut those to length and made the shelves the same thickness as the desk (so I don't need to adjust the monstertech clamps).
@@Willdass awesome thanks
Great setup buddy. Got similar gear with winwing annd TM f18 flightstick. Question though: How did you attach the velcro to the keypad for your left leg??
I have a G13 keypad, but can't find a way to make it attach to my leg.
Seems very useful for vr.
Thanks mate! I sewed some velcro to an elastic band. So the band is just velcroed to the pad and secured with some extra tape. Same solution for my Wacom tablet.
Yeah it is really nice to have in VR, so I don’t need to reach for the keyboard for the f10 menu/camera views.
@@Willdassvery smart solution. Ill get sewing!
Awesome setup, what kind of strap are you using for the razor keypad on your leg? Thanks
Thanks mate! It's just some elastics straps which I sewed some velcro onto. The strap is also attached to the pad with velcro. Nothing fancy :) Same solution for the tablet on my right leg.
Impressive setup, do you ever not flying in VR? I'd imagine it would feel like a long way from the monitor (for me anyway, old eyes)
Thanks man! I've not flown in 2D in over two years. My monitors are on movable arms, so I can pull the ultrawide monitor pretty close to me if ever my VR headset fails. It would be right behind the ICP.
interesting setup, what are you doing for keyboard stuff though?
like what if you need to type in the chat?
Thx! I very rarely type in chat, I always use voice chat. But If I have to, the keyboard is easily reachable behind the ICP. I just rotate the MFDs and have full access.
Hey @wildass, I have been looking for a desk that has got that stained look to it, but i donmt want a del that slides i want something that can withstand all the push and pulling. What desk do you have?
Thanks
The desk is a IKEA KARLBY countertop. Mounted on some IKEA shelves, also have some extra support legs at the back. Thanks for watching!
Great setup. My only question is how do you access your keyboard during flight?
Thx! I don’t, have everything I need bound. If I really have to use it I can flip the MFDs and access the keyboard behind it.
Impressive....most impressive....@@Willdass
when you combined the VPC warbird with Thrustmaster F18 grip, do you run the Thrustmaster software? or any configuration involved to get it working in DCS? or does it just work together natively without special configurations.
I used the VPC software to calibrate, mostly since I changed springs, cams and added a extension.
Think it works natively, but I followed a short CZcams tutorial to make sure.
The stick will show up as VPC Warbrd on the PC so the TM software won’t work anymore.
I don’t run any of the software regularly.
I've seen you changed from the Jet Seat to the HF8, what do you think of the HF8? is it worth it? I've just recently got into VR and bought the NLR Boeing Military cockpit, very tempted to buy a seat shaker but I've heard if they dont have transducers (like the much more expensive Ushake-6) then theres a noticeable delay between what happens in game and the seat shaker
Yeah, the Jet Seat died on me. The HF8 was easier to get a hold of and cheaper, a slight downgrade in terms of vibration and comfort.
For me there is not a noticable delay.
Hello I don't know much about VR but were are the sensor for the vr i don't see them in your desk i only know about the Oculus Rift a little bit
I have one base station mounted on the wall above my main monitor. Good enough for seated used.
Thank you
Hi I was just wondering are those pfd working or not if they are could you drop me a link to where you got them?
I have a sim room now
Did you cut the notch in the seat pan of your office chair or did you buy it that way? I’m looking at attaching my joystick detachable mount on the seat itself.
Yeah, I went to work with a hack saw, knife, needle and thread.
@@Willdass glad I’m not the only crazy one! Great setup! Mine looks a McGyver’d shambles in comparison but is functional.
@@johnprinos 😂 thanks!!
90 second to deploy? Far too long haha! Really nice set up.
how have you setup the razor keypad? i have the same one doing noting somewhere.
I mapped it through Razor Synapse, mostly F-keys and Esc, screenshot, start/stop record etc.
If you don't mind me asking, how much was this? I'm trying to get a good setup for MSFS I have a yoke but I want all the toggle buttons and switch panels as well but I can't find something that isn't outrageously priced.
Hard to estimate now, as I bought it over 3 years and mostly on sale. Prices have gone up a bit since… The whole setup is listed in the description if you want to calculate todays price…
It’s an expensive hobby for sure, but you get what you pay for:-)
Can you please send the link on where you got that realistic F-16 Joystick and Base?
realsimulator.com/fssb-r3-ultra/
realsimulator.com/f-16-side-grips/ I use the normal stick with a castle cup:
realsimulator.com/castle-cup/
Can you link those toggle switch extensions for the panels please? I searched but can’t find any? Thank you!
Sure, added the link in the description. Thanks for watching :)
Have you used the Virpil CM3 base ? If so, how does the warbird compare?
I have not. The CM3 would be the recommended choice for my setup, but when I bought the warbird I used a stick without the extension. Still it does the job and does it very well, a bit wobbly but I can live with it. Had to buy the extra heavy springs though. Thanks for watching!
What kind of seat is that? I've been looking for options with the center stick notch but I'm not sure I want to drop $700+ on it.
It’s a normal office chair. Went to work with a hack saw, knife and needle&thread.
Dette var heftig! 😍 jeg er i ferd med å bygge min egen sim. Har foreløpig bare quest 3. vil benyttes til både helikopter og f-16. budsjett 70-80.000,- NOK. Har du noen gode tips ? 🙏

@@pxneaple Check pinned comment. Thanks for watching!
Does your the keypad you use for radios have a leg strap?
Yeah, a homemade one. It’s just some elastic bands that I sewed some Velcro to. Same for the kneeboard
Can you give me an idea for total cost??
How do you know what you're pressing with the VR headset on
Muscle memory, just as I don’t look at my keyboard while typing or playing other games. Also a lot of the switches are in the same place as the virtual cockpit so it’s very intuitive.
How do you connect so many things to a pc? Are there enough usb ports?
Two usb hubs under the desk with 8 ports each. One hub per shelf, which makes the cable management easier.
how much time did it take for everything to build and set up ?
Difficult to say as I aquired the items over 2 years. But if I got it all in one day, I guess it would take 3-4 hours. A bit more if you include the storage shelf and cable management.
what is the seat pad you have for the chair ?
Simshaker Jet Pad
. Imagine if simulating having 1000’s of dollars worth of equipment through Virtual reality and having the ability to use it as if it was right in front of you was possible.
SMH, people say the dumbest things.
that setup is insane! How much does it cost though?
Thanks mate!
It’s not the cheap, but I gradually upgraded over three years as my DCS hobby got more serious. Whole setup list is in the description, not sure about total retail price, as I got most of it on sale and prices have gone up over the years.
Nice ...does DCS support triple displays?
Yes it does. Never tried it my self, but den many pits with multiple screens/projectors
Where did you get that desk?
I made it. It’s just an IKEA KARLBY countertop on top of some IKEA EKET drawers.
Nice job, but it's the worst when you have to assemble and disassemble your gear... You end up flying a lot less as a result
Thx! Very true, that’s why I’ve set it up like this. If I start DCS first: by the time the game is running, everything is set up and ready to go.
@@Willdass Yes, i mean, assemble EVEN if you have a smooth setup like that... Protip, if possible, try and mount it on the short side of your desk. Static...

Have you had any issues with the WinWing stuff?
Not really, have been very happy with their products! Except one time the gear lever stopped working due to a loose screw. Was very easy to fix though:)
@@Willdass Thanks! Thinking between WinWing and Virpil right now.
