It's almost poetic seeing a metalhead wearing a Goodnight Moon shirt.
It will always remind me of Dave Brockies rendition
Not in a hipster ironic way either. Chris is a good dude.
That book is ducking awesome lol no shame
Coming back to this interview after hearing the devastating news of Chris's departure from the band. I'm still in shock.
All up and coming bands take note. The reason for Lamb of God's success and really any other band's success, is having people like Chris Adler having a clear vision, combined with his incredible work ethic to succeed. To be successful in the music industry does take actual work.
Well said brotha!! Well said
Ohhh...and HammerJack's, Baltimore Md (Opened up there for this then sorta glam-metal looking texas band named "Pantera" due to winning a Battle O the Bands contest 1988, knew I'd remember some more,...The Mermaid, Venice Beach Cali RIP)
@@thecentralscrutinizer5105 I drive past where Hammerjacks used to be often, miss it! That’s an incredible story bro🤘🏼legendary band and legendary place
This channel is criminally under subscribed
Tell me about it, this is like one of the best metal channels on CZcams
Agreed, tell your friends! :D
Chris is such a nice guy and a beast of a drummer at the same time
Hey🌹all love and how are you doing today?
It's criminal these videos do not have more hits, but then again, we should be used to this as metal fans
I lived under a rock for the past ten years doing nothing but listening Lamb Of God
Adler is a beast! Being a guitarist he is probably the only drummer that makes me want to play drums.
lol
That shirt alone (I'm a dad) made me an even bigger Chris Adler fan lol.
May 2nd, in Florida, I saw Chris play drums for Lamb of God, and about 55 minutes later he played drums for Megadeth. Adler is such a talented and driven musician.
Hails for this dude.🤘🤘🤘
I really love chris, he was the heartbeat of LOG and without him they are just not the same.
The new drummer is fantastic please dont get me wrong, but I feel like chris was the business man of the group and a great visionary.
Look at the Chris' hands, damn, the man is always playing drums in his head
dude, 5 stars for you noticing, I've known these guys since mid 90's, our bands practiced in the same building, shit, their spot was next to ours, and let ya in a lil secret, those hands have been doing that non-stop since 1996.
There are & will be 4eva Mechanicsville hand Jokes!!!
I think if you notice all drummers have restless hands syndrome.
If Chris Adler started playing drums at age 21 and the band Burn The Priest became a band at 1999 and Chris was like 22 years old that time. So youre telling me that it only took him 1 year of drums to perform? Damn... and to think that the drums in the tracks from the album Burn The Priest and New American Gospel are not a walk in a park. 😲
what thats insane
Yes this is true....
It actually only took him about 3 months or so to start playing the way he does....
And how he is double bass drum heavy. But like Vinnie Paul he has allot of rhythm.
He played the bass guitar and was asked to play the drums because they had no one!
Amazing story all happening in college with John Mark and his brother will.
Take care! I figured I'd inform u a lil more:)
@@lucasstruna3962
Yes he was in college at the time in Richmond;)
lolz...they were Burn the Priest in 1997 too, but weren't quite ready to leave their practice nest yet, I know, we practiced in the spot next to them on Broad St, mid-90's ;)
Chris Adler is such a cool dude. His drumming is so fucking good and after all the success he's remained so "normal"! I'm still very sad (and shocked) that he left Lamb of God, but those old albums will always stay in my playlists! \m/
I love how someone who's in such a heavy band is wearing a Goodnight Moon shirt. That's metal as fuck! XD
Chris seems like such a sweetheart :)
I met him randomly at a hotel in Austin and he was a super nice guy
Chris Adler is not only a great drummer , he’s also a very lucky guy , he got to play , record an album and tour with one of his Idols.
Fantastic interview.
Thanks Sam - great work again. Also, thanks to Chris for coming on the show & being so accessible to us fans.
I think it's really cool that Chris Adler is aware of up and coming bands that are making waves in the metal community. Havok and exmortus are definitely game changers. Long live the titan that is Lamb Of God!!! 🔥 🔥
+DevonEwyMusic he may have gotten the name wrong. look up exmortus then tell me that he wasn't talking about a California based thrash band who is signed and doing work
+WARensemble67 oh I know who Exmortus is, seen them live and am friends with Jadran (singer) and David, they're awesome. I just thought I saw that name Exmorter somewhere but I guess I was wrong. I think I got it confused with Exhumed and Exhumer. just name wise atleast! \m/
+DevonEwyMusic it's all good dude. Exmortus is actually signed to Prosthetic. The first major label to sign Lamb of God. Lol Exmortus is also from my home town of Whittier, CA they're beasts for sure! Keep it metal, bro.\m/
+WARensemble67 that's sick!
Love the fact that after all the success he's still so humble! Makes me respect him more
Fantastic Interview. Grow the goat back Chris \m/
chris has got to be one of the most laid back and humble person there ever was, i sooo would love to hang out with him for a day
Love this channel and Chris is one of my favorite drummers on Earth!
1st time checking out this channel, glad I did! Subscribed! This guy Chris Adler is Humble, what a refreshing change from some of the cocky people in the music industry. Amazing drummer, and what a cool guy!
Thanks, man. Welcome!
Excellent interview. 5 stars! (or skulls if you prefer)
Do more current interviews like this! Awesome stuff.
Devin's album which Chris named is Ocean Machine, Im a huge of fan of him and love everything he does and did and will do xD and I was super happy when I saw him producing As The Palaces Burn and Chris seems so fucking cool and chill! Love Banger and I am kinda sad because your channel is criminally under subscribed and not talked about, there is so much good content here, love you Sam and everyone in Banger, keep it up! :D
Thanks Fran. Keep spreading the word!
keeping the faith ;) thanks for the reply! love you guys
Devil Townsend? xD Devy produced As The Palaces Burn if thats what you mean :D
Man. I would love to have a beer with Chris. Dude seems like the nicest of guys! Saw an interview with his brother Willie a while ago and he's as great!
this made me subscribe, what an absolutely amazing interview!!
both of you gave 110% in your questions/answers.
Will watch more of the channel now! hooked!
the first 10 to 15 mins sums up metal to me and i just love the honesty with questions. questions that most interviewers wouldn't really ask a bigger metal group. for instance, with the metallica question on if the vocals and the more guitar drive metal music is going to ever be on a metallica level. i honestly to don't think so. the reason why metallica is so big(my opinion)is that in the mid 90s, they did go to a more softer and alternative style and that brought in fans that don't really listen to heavier bands. simply put, most ppl that listen to rock and hard rock, don't have the patience to understand or want to understand what heavier metal is.
Great interview. When I saw LOG supporting Megadeth at Wembley Arena it obvious to me for the first time that they could easily play a stage like that themselves. They have the songs and the show. I really hope it's only a matter of time.
They really do! I saw them with Anthrax in February at a decent sized venue, but they could have easily filled an arena. The energy they put in the show was amazing!
Chris is amazing and unbelievably dedicated. I am so impressed he play with two bands like this.
Great band, great man, great shirt. Reminds me of the realism that some of us are men. Men with families and children. Some of us with love and deeper reasons. I've always been a fan and a lot of it was almost an anticipation of Lamb of God considering being a teen when they where teens and how metal, music was.
The feeling and the time in a way dictated the overwhelming release while the true intensity deep inside is of a love that few can or at least can admit they connect to and feel. Its Gen X as a response to satisfaction, brushing over, marketability of norm vs fringe, and a response of after so much how do you break the established response while maintaining and exploding responsiveness. There are those bands we true metal fans won't even openly discuss are severely important, there are those that are obvious, and then there are those that are so perfect at the time they appear and continue that there is no denying how amazing they are.
Talent, influence, conception, interpretation, technicality, pureness. the direction is real and that is why they matter, why they are good, and why they last. Lamb of God is one of my favorites.
Can't believe Adler is no longer in LOG. He is my all time drum idol. Local too. Kinda speechless.
Thank you for this bomb ass interview!
Gotta love the metalhead in a non ironic Goodnight Moon shirt.
Thought this was new. I was like 'great job getting the exclusive with Chris man!'. But it was three years ago
06:58 Honestly i heard Laid to rest on Metal A Headbangers Journey. I enjoyed metal at that time but that song and documentary kinda opend my eyes to the "extreme" part of Metal.
And i love you for it Sam!
So after i saw that documentary i bought and played the album Ashes of the wake in my car for atleast 4weeks
great interview with a superior drummer in modern heavy metal!
Sam can you PLEASE upload a full resolution of that heavy metal periodic table ?
I'm not a huge Lamb of God fan but respect to Chris Adler.
+the artist formally known as craig lastname oh good....i'm not the only one
+the artist formally known as craig lastname
same here, great drummer
Pssss lamb of God is the best pure metal band to date ... There sitting on top of the world at the moment
lmfaao no bro its pure AS PISS
***** gojira? ministry?
It's funny how the look or uniform came into play. When I was a kid, it was the thrash days, Exodus, Slayer, Metallica, Maiden, a.m. Z-Rock...etc. when they wore the leather, Priest, Maiden, then the Tweety-Bird from Dan Spitz...etc. I would find my own attire, because as inspirations go, we mimic what we like and want to be. And I was not accepted . I got addicted to metal when my older brother played Piece Of Mind. Those fucking drums at the start of Where Eagles Dare drove me wild! This was it, this is what I want to be doing. I got my first drum kit at 16. Things were going good until I got pulled off my path and went into construction (hind-sight now). Fast forward 30 years now at 49, with all of the new metal that has been evolving over the years, I am even more in love with metal. And still shunned. Probably others, significantly younger than me thinking I'm a wanna be. Well I am a wanna be. I play drums and guitar, at an amateur level, but do to life circumstances, yes it happens, things haven't transpired as I hoped. It's always been the music for me from the beginning. I draw and paint and have achieved Gnosis, transcended through the practice of Shamanism. I have to gloat a little bit because it's great to celebrate personal success on any level. But at the same time, it's hard to accept the non-acceptance of those that are in the arts for the same reasons, love for life, rebellion, be yourself, creativity etc. I don't mean to come across the wrong way, but it sure is funny to me that I have been true-blue, stick-to my-guns love metal, and everyone I grew up with went with the changing fads and lost themselves. Anyhow...HAIL METAL ETERNALLY !!!
This was awesome guys! You should do more of these interview/LOCKHORNS hybrids in the future.
Thnks Sam once again for this awesome interview.... U definitely deserve more subscribers 👍👌
CA was already in my top 3 drummers, but his ability to join a mega band and pull double duty has put him in rare air.
Chris Adlers hair looks fantastic!
Chris Adler is a fucking beast. Kickass.
Awesome. Thank you, Sam. Long Live Banger TV.
Chris kinda looks like brad pitt.. especially when he smiles
Im not the only one
I was thinking Jeff Bridges in the Big Lebowski
Def can see Chris&Willie are brothers
Its his cheeks!
the first thing I have watched from you guys! Fucking Awesome!!! You definitely have gained a new fan of banger tv!!! I have Jared Dines to thank for your channel's plug! I have been a metal head since my dad let me listen to Megadeth when i was a kid and still have much to learn because i am not deep into the community yet. I am the only one in my circle of friends that listens to metal so I am still finding all these sweet youtube shows and and local concerts that have been around for a while. I love this shit! keep it up!
So awseome to hear that Chris Adler listens to Despised Icon
Yesterday, I went to FYE and I finally bought their album Sacrament.
thanks for answering my question
Brann Dailor, Tomas Haake and this fuckin guy. Top 3 metal drummers of all time for me ♥
I am in love with his double kick sound.
omg. Chris would like to work with Devin again ?.. you know how epic that would be!? something beyond extremely! ATPB is amazing! I love DTP and LoG
Everything he says from 12:00 on about new local bands... spot on. EXTREMELY difficult for us growing bands nowadays.
THANK YOU Chris Adler!
What he says about "Wrathchild (America)" is why they are on my personal Top 20 Thrash bands :D
They may not have influenced any other band, but no one sounded like them (as well as Realm, Powermad, Sabbat (U.K.), Anacrusis, Depressive Age, Forbidden, Believer and more).
So cool to hear Wrathchild mentioned, thanks Chris. \m/

Chris Adler is a true metal guy and a fuckin amazing drummer
Yes!!!! Thanks for the answer! you can all thank me later for getting Chris to reveal some breaking news. and btw I'm from upstate NY, not Canada. I just wanted a random name. Lol
I think the interviewer meant that he, and Banger, hails from the mighty north :P
So cool to hear Chris mention wrathchild America. Shannon Larkin. Godsmack.
Informative interview. I like the way Chris is. Sam doing a great work. Keep on! \m/
More bands on a simmer than a few bands on boiling - love the metaphor
Lamb of God! Great music, awesome guys. Just gotta love these guys. A lot good times jamming them.
Oh shit. This interview got past me. So good. Lamb Of God are fucking great,I've seen them twice (mostly once, the other was mostly away a little listening at the beer tent) and also Chris with Megadeth.
Was a bit devistated about his departure, over time it's easier to deal with. I heard him saying he just wasn't happy with all the negativity.
Best to be your own instead of the next anything. Be true to yourselves.
I love that i have the same bass in another color, and i never knew about megadeth, im excited to see some new megadeth withmy favorite drummer
Great interview, Great band.
Great Interview.
Wrathchild America...watched Pantera open 4 them @ Hammerjacks...Baltimore...\m/
I’m sad we lost vs the bills..FIRE GREG ROMAN
I love what Kerry had to say about Lamb of God basically being awesome
Kicking ass as always
I miss Chris Adler playing for Lamb of God.
He's wearing a good night moon shirt. I was thinking about that book a few days ago. Serendipity.
Ha! I still regularly listen to Wrathchild America! larkin's drumming on Climbin' The Walls has motivated me to practice on my drums. I do so, knowing that Ill never reach his level.
That shirt is a winner
Being at rock on the range this year and being in the crowd for Lamb Of God I can defiantly say that a guitar lead band can be a stadium filler. Keep it loud keep it heavy dudes!
Just seen lamb of god an I do miss this dude being the drummer.. I 1st seen them in 2003 an now in 2022 the drums where tighter in 03
Hilariously, as a dad, that good night moon t-shirt is just so random..
What he really thought at that "metallica" statement "Oh shit. I dont wanna be compared to Lars" XD
I agree with Havok but what about Holy Grail from Pasadena? They are kick ass. I've seen them 2 times just this year and they were awesome.
Chris is a very cool guy. And a great drummer on top.
Really a Goodnight Moon T-shirt.... that was my favorite book when I was little. Just another reason to like these guys.
Angie Ketch I like you
Hey🌹all love and how are you doing today?
I don't want Lamb of God to be the next Metallica, I want Lamb of God to be Lamb of God! Keep rocking and doing your thing...Peace!
Amen to that!
I love his goodnight moon shirt
Hey🌹all love and how are you doing today?
You do need to get Townsend in though. He is practically the Zappa of our generation.
Your comment might be lost on a lot of the banger audience. As a long time metal and Zappa fan, Frank doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves.
You're right, Zappa doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves.
YEP! I love Slipknot used to be big fan. I love chris adler and LAMB OF GOD!! ROARHHH!!!!! LOG+SLIPKNOT RULE
They should do a death metal lock horns. I know they did melodic death but I mean proper death metal
Hey🌹all love and how are you doing today?

Beautiful shirt, Chris.
Great interview Sam!! HAIL LAMB OF GOD!!
Sam and the team need more subs. Cool interview!
Great interview with Chris there Sam... Now how about a Alt Metal episode?
Gorguts ! Yeah you rock Sam ! Their latest 1 track EP Pleiades' Dust is amazing
Brad Pitt of metal.
Chris is a cool guy and a great drummer
My favorite band. They passed Pantera for me... 🇺🇸😎
Dirk Verbeuren drumming for megadeth. what an age we live in hahahaha
If it helps him pay the bills, live comfortably, then all the power to him. Megadeth is my favorite band. But obviously he's over qualified lol. But like I said, I'm sure it helps pay the bills
I feel we have never got a clear answer on why he left the band, it’s like something is going unsaid and I’m wondering what was the straw that broke the camel’s back
What kind of bracelet is that on Adler's left wrist?
I want that Venom poster!
Goodnight moon!
seriously being a drummer in a touring band myself for chris to leave lamb of god and join megadeath ive lost all respect for him good luck dude
