tv stuff. the left side (groups a to d) had 2 german teams (bayern & frankfurt) while the right side (groups e to h) only had 1 german team (leipzig). by the time leverkusen were drawn, it was 2 teams on each side, so this rule didn't apply. this happens because, when one side plays on tuesday, the other plays on wednesday.
