To be honest, the S21 Ultra will last for years and years to come. Would definitely be a good choice in the market for about 5 years, I mean what's gonna top it so drastically that you'll need to switch? A better camera?

@@PrinceJes I'm still rocking a note 8 and just ordered this phone because my phone is just now have location issues and short battery life.
A device is still functional for years to come after it's date of purchase, it's usability is not invalidated by the release of newer models. The S21 Ultra should serve you for another good 4-5 years with proper usage, or 2-3 years if you want reselling previleges. But refreshing your phone every year is honestly just excessive and mostly a waste.
Why are some people telling me about my phone's lifespan like I don't already know it? Lol I'm gonna get a new phone whenever the fk I want to. Thanks.

@@ABoxIsMyHome how so, past couple years it's all been full screen slabs with a 3 camera array on the back, the main variation was in how they implemented the selfie camera. Stuff like the LG wing and these folding ones are actually finally breaking this pattern.
I really dig the idea of this kind of flip phone, more than the ones that open up to “tablet size”

The flip variant is more practical, but it also provides less benefits than a full tablet mode. Basically this flip phone is a tall Galaxy S21. The screen width is the same as the regular S21 and you get a few extra pixels on top.

okay i gotta say, the design is everything i could've wished for. the sides look so sleek and modern, while not being sharp like the iphone, the off-white is just, perfect, and the two tone and integration of the outside display is perfection. They really nailed this one.

At&T is offering $1000 for iPhone 8+ and newer on trade in. Prob same with other flagships but I didn’t check. You’d essentially be getting it for free.

Yeah, it looks really good. It’s not enough to move me from the ecosystem as that’s so useful, and I don’t want to lose those advantages. I wouldn’t say stuck as I’m really happy with the apple ecosystem and nothing comes close to it for me.
You can see Samsung are getting there with the folding phones though. It’s not completely there yet, but I feel like they are really close. I think another two versions to iron out the kinks, and it might start moving lots of units and other manufacturers will then jump on the bandwagon
It looks like something Apple will be taking as reference for their future fold phones, it looks slick and elegant, I can definitely see Apple following this route

Don't worry it took them 3 generations to get to the point where this is close to perfect...if flip 3 is a hit Apple might end up making their own foldable based on this one just slightly more refined and elegant...yes that'd be copying Samsung 😅but I'm all up for it if it's a better phone.
A flip phone with full display really makes sense! For men who dont carry “man bags” is small in pants pocket, and when out of pocket, is big enough for practical use and reading. I’m an iPhone user and am thinking to get an iPhone mini due to the “size in pocket” argument, but this from Samsung really makes sense.

Also a slim normal phone doesn't mean handy bc I got a new smartphone and sometimes it's just too big and slim and slips out of my hand. I could imagine that with a "fat square" you get more grip to it, which is fantastic for a clumsy person like me. Plus it just looks super cool haha

very nice phone. at first i felt really awkward when i tried to unfold my zflip 3. but after a month, i have got used to it and start to feel comfortable with the design. it is very light, very thin which i love very much. i can put into my shirt's pocket and it does not feel weighty. i love to use it without a case because i cannot feel the beauty of the phone that way.

Reminds me of the Motorola Razr from back in the day - a fantastic phone. Phones are getting bigger and bigger so can be uncomfortable to carry in a pocket, this is the modern Razr. Very nice.

The flip phone is a boss for any people who usually go out the house alot. 2 of my friends have the flips phone and honeslty when we go to the bars ,gym, etc its like they dont even have it on them and its very cool too see them use it.. i was converted from apple to the samsung a while back and honeslty im thinking of getting a flip for going out

I have my complete faith in this series now, hopefully can get one some day. And in the meantime hopefully it improves as well.
I actually want this phone. That folding feature would be amazing. Today's phones feel so big and tall, it feels impossible to keep them in your pocket without it feeling awkward. But if you can have a a Samsung 21 that folds into your pocket? That seems like heaven to me personally. AND the easy accessibility to your music, weather, time, and notifications, that's awesome. The only thing that may suck is if the screen cracks and prevents the phone to fold. Other than that, this phone seems really cool

@Mousii I relate so much. Even with my outdoor pants the phone is just so big it almost don't fit. Also I have a small purse and the phone just barley fits. I am really happy flip phones are making a comeback. I hope next Gen has better dust resistance then I am completely sold on it.
😍 Everything you said _resonates_ with me. The fact that BTS had an ad that was practically a music video for this phone is icing on the cake. I have never in my whole life wanted a phone this badly. I currently have the A20S and I thought I would be perfectly fine with this phone for another 10 years. This is still true, but I always find myself brooding over this phone 🤭

If this phone had the option to text on the front display like the razr 5g, then it would definitely be my next phone. I wish samsung would add that feature and increase the front display size as well. It's a starting point but not right for me just yet.

@@sahimahfrahman3726 Technology today isnt that impressive for me, we're still using battery. CPU still runs hot. Components inside still cant touch water. Even folding screen, its a thick screen.
I think the most important piece of info was omitted: whether or not shutting the phone physically hangs up the call.
It does on the 2018 Razr, and opening it up while recieving a call accepts the call... I'm sure there are some settings to mess with to make this work on the z flip as well... it is after all a flip phone and that's one of the key features of a flip phone.

Samsung was showing off the capability of rolling displays like 10 years ago. Instead the give folding folds, lg was working on rollable displays, i wonder why they stopped working on phones all together. Now rollable thats innovation

@@urIIez I don’t see how a rollable phone would be practical, sounds like a guaranteed gimmick. I can see rollable screens being useful in larger applications like the aforementioned TV, but the law of diminishing returns would make it a complete waste of time in a phone. Don’t even really see the use for the Flip 3, why? Protection? Maybe while it’s in you pocket, but what about dust? My phone already prints, why would I want one double the thickness? Why? Apple would have released a foldable by now (been rumoredto have been working on it since like 2014) if there was a practical reason for one. Instead it seems their intention is skip right over it to to something better in Apple Glass.
I love this concept of flipping instead of folding. To me it looks cool when flipped and becomes more compact to carry 😀

@@mteokay1246 I am using my brain and thinking. Apparently you forgot that there were these things called clamshell phones that were around when cell phones started getting popular. Some people like a smaller, compact phone instead of a phablet. That's why things like the iPhone mini exist. The Flip allows people to have a "normal" sized phone while also giving them the ability to reduce it's size for pocketablitiy. Just because you don't think outside the box or like the design doesn't mean it's a gimmick.
@@pearodox there's a reason why we call a normal size phone a normal size phone. It fits in one hand and in one's pocket fine. There is ZERO point in folding that up AT ALL. BUT the very fact that it folds presents 3 disadvantages from the get go ... 1. Hinge will fail at some point 2. Screen will be less durable as it has to fold 3. Is there even a special case to protect the whole thing.
Just coz we started with clamshells it don't mean we go back to clamshells.
So em disadvantages I pointed out plus zero form-function and a lame ode to the past SIMPLY MEANS 1 THING ...... GIMMICK !

Very nice flip phone. I bought my daughter one and almost bought one for myself but went the Pixel 6 pro instead. The OS is silky smooth and the camera is excellent

Damnnnn apple better step up… this is the first time in about 8 years where I thought I might rather get a Samsung phone than an apple one. Currently have the iPhone X which was also 999. Edit: pre ordered it with the 21 day trial option

Preordered with the 21 days also, upgrading from a beat up Pixel 3. Would have waited for the Pixel 6 and it'd probably be a better investment, but even the smaller size will be huge and I'm really interested in trying one of these folding phones for the portability aspect.

@@Gamerdude753 normally I would agree with you but on a vertically folding phone that probably would cause more inconvenience than it would solve. Risk of the cable being caught between the screens and what not
Just get usb-c headphones, basically nearly everyone these days has some type of wireless headset. It’s not much of a big deal anymore.

I like the idea of the cover screen cos it can help you avoid distractions. I might get my phone out to do something like see if I have a new email, check what's playing, or even just check the time, and end up getting sidetracked by some other app or notification. If I can do the former without opening the phone at all, I won't get distracted with the latter.
I love it for the exact same reason that's also why I'm excited for the next Motorola flip as well since they put more emphasis on the outer screen

Many say about the crease in the middle, but , as an actual Z Flip user, it never was an issue to me. You get reminded of its existence from time to time when the light happens to be at a certain angle, but such angle does not occur when you use the phone actually. Rather the stiff size of the regular smart phone that never compromised with my pockets was a big issue for me that made me go back to the the flip form, the original mainstream physical of cell phone that they had to give up coming over to the smart some ten years ago.
I just got this phone today and Maan I'm impressed with the camera and the ghz on the ohone...phone... memory, smooth, 128gb and not paying $1300 for a phone....love it...

I saw it today and looks like a great new phone to get, and was excited to get but, I don't know if I can get over the crease, seems no one talks about it, you can see it all the time when you open the phone.
