    Very impressive how quickly you got two completely new guys to squat with solid form.

      ***** As a newer lifter (18 months or so), it can be tough to find a good model to compare your form too. It is not realistic to expect to lift like someone who has been training for over ten years and is 40-60 pounds heavier on a good day. And while your methodology is exceptional, seeing you work with others is probably the best way to really understand it.

    Hi Chris, awesome video!
    I did some coaching myself and had trouble with people who weren't able to do a body squat or a barbell squat. They couldn't reach parallel and would fall backwards. What is your approach with these people?

  • @riveracarlos328

    looking forward to these. what kind of bar is that and what/when is it used vs. a straight bar?

  • @DefineStrength

    Chris. question? do u still have goals to break any of ur past records in any of the lifts?

  • @jordanriver6920
    @jordanriver6920 Před 9 lety

    My coach tells me I need to release my hips or something to that effect. Any tips on how to do this?

    • @jordanriver6920
      @jordanriver6920 Před 9 lety

      Yeah when he first told me to release my hips I was a little confused because we were doing full squats. Guess he should stick to football coaching lol

    Chris Duffin everytime when I've a butt wink(an inch below parallel) , I hear a cracking sound in my right knee! Do you think it's because of my flexibility? Or weak hamstrings or quads? I used a wide stance high bar squat! Thanks

    • @Hannes789
      @Hannes789 Před 9 lety

      I have that too. Thats probably a band or something like that jumping over a joint. Or the knee cap moving. As long as it doesnt hurt I wouldnt mind too much

      thanks! there's no pain at the moment! few of my friends suggested foam rolling the calves and hamstring...I'm hoping it would work.

      I'd also mess a bit around with stance width. If you stand pretty wide and you try push your knees out excessively that could be a cause. For me, when I find 'the right spot, the right groove' so to say, then I can get rid of the problem. Experiment a bit without a bar and listen to your body whether your knee keeps cracking ;) hope you'll do well

    • @adharshrajasekar1988
      @adharshrajasekar1988 Před 9 lety

      MidnightSTALKER979 thanks! I'm now using a little wider than shoulder width stance with toes aligned with my knees! I don't hear my knees cracking when I go below parallel :) but foam rolling and butt wink stretches are my main priority now :)
