2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L - OEM Mopar Running Board Installation (Mopar 82216145AE / 82216145AD)

  • Grouchy Mustache Man's step by step instructions for installing OEM running boards (Mopar part number 82216145AE) on a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L (3 seats). The video details which parts are included in the kit and tools used for the installation. Instructions for using Mopar's specialty Rivnut Installation tool (Mopar 82212003) are also covered. The Mopar name for the running boards is "Integrated Side Steps". Note that the kit's part number, 82216145AE, replaces part number 82216145AD.
    Although this video covers the three seat 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, it will also aid those installing running boards on 2022 and 2023 three seat and two seat models.

    The rivnut install is the hardest part. I had to file down several of the hexagonal insert holes.

      Don’t know if these are supposed to be loose when installing the boards but that’s what I did and it seems to work.

    As of 3/7/2023 the running boards installed in this video, Mopar part number 82216145AE, replace the following part numbers: 82216145AB, 82216145AC, 82216145AD.

    We have the bright running boards on our 2023 GC but my wife finds them more of a hindrance getting in and out such as not wide enough for her foot. Do you have the same issue? She now want me to remove and install the OEM panels.

      Neither my wife or I have issues. With the door open, the board is about 4" to 4.25" inches wide. Not the widest running board I've ever had, but wide enough. Plus, they look good and install with no drilling required.
