  • Cleaning and caring for my cookware is something I take alot of pride in. I believe that if you want to cook with pots and pans, then you should clean your pots and pans. Cooking is something I love to do, and I do it daily, but sometimes just a regular dishwashing routine is not enough to keep grease and stains from building up into stubborn stains that can sometimes be so hard to remove. And nothing can take the joy out of cooking faster than a grimy stained pot or skillet. I have used this method of cleaning my pots and pans for years and find that it works great for me. I'm sharing this method of cleaning with you, and if you decide to use it it might work for you too.

Oh Rachel, please promise all of us that you won’t ever let Hollywood come calling and tarnish you! Stay Golden! You are such a wonderful joy to watch! And I learn something every time! God bless you, my friend! 💕

I have cooked for over 70 years and I have cleaned my equipment the same way you are teaching. My equipment is very old but looks really good because I properly care for it the way you do. My appliances are older also, especially my stove but everyone always thinks it’s much newer because I cared for it properly. And I cooked a lot.

Rachel, you are truly the best cook, teacher and just the most lovely person ever! I’m 64 years old, and you have taught me so much! I have always loved cooking, watching my grandmother on the farm cook beautiful, delicious meals. You are an excellent woman like her! Thank you and God bless you!❤️

Rachel, I want to take a moment and compliment you on how informative you are by taking the time to explain each and every step in your recipes. Some cooking channels rush through making it difficult to follow. I stumbled onto you a while back and have made many of your recipe's and love your channel and will be a faithful follower. Cinnamonrolls so far have been my favorite along with my grandsons. They don't last 24 hours at my house. I feel like part of your family and Please stay as informative on your cooking, May God bless and keep you safe.

My late husband was a cook and sous chef and he always cooked w cast iron pots, seasoning them exactly like this! But I like the idea of using the microfiber cloth to wipe off the oil - much better than terry towels or paper towels that leave lint behind. He also liked to use Bar Keeper's Friend on our stainless pots and pans. Thank you so much for sharing with everyone, Rachel!

I did not know about bleaching my ceramic Dutch oven. Thanks for demonstrating that. I always season my cast iron each time I wash them. I’m like you though, once in a while I will use a little Dawn dish liquid. Other times it’s just very hot water, scrape the bottom and sides with a plastic scraper, rinse, dry & season once with oil. Your neighbor is very fortunate to get a shiny skillet AND a new skillet.

That there are still folks left in the world that even give-a-darn about keeping their own cooking equipment clean and functional and used with care, is a testament to the genuineness Rachel brings with each of these videos. And, she will end up saving you money, from thinking you need to buy other items, since the stuff you own will look so good!

Finally, someone who actually respects and takes care of their pots and pans. I have always kept my stainless pans spotless. I never see other people putting any effort into maintaining them so that they look new.

It’s such a good thing for you to pass on the art of cooking and keeping the home. My sweet mama didn’t know these skills to teach me but I had Mrs Townsend (home ec teacher almost 30 years ago) and now I have you to thank for sharing your skills - most importantly with love to bless our family and neighbors. God bless you ❤️
