    Can't believe they charge 13 € for ice skating! I mean at least in Finland (2h from Tallinn) you can go to any school yard and skate for free. My childhood neighbourhood had an ice rink in almost every yard in the winter. So I had like 10 m to ice skating. Hated it though!

    • @LaurenCotter
      @LaurenCotter  Před rokem

      I think coming from London we thought that was really good value. I thought €13 was a bargain 😂. Next time we visit, we'll have to find a free one instead. Thanks for the tip 🙌😁.

    Hey Lauren, another great video. We are planning our first trip to Estonia for April. It looks like a really cool destination. Scouting it for our RTW Drive. What is your favorite thing to see and eat? Thanks for subscribing to our channel BTW. love supporting each other.

    • @LaurenCotter
      @LaurenCotter  Před rokem +1

      RTW Drive sounds EPIC!!! Can't wait to watch it all on your channel. Trust me when I say you're gonna fall in love with Tallinn! In my opinion it's the most beautiful fairytale city that I've visited in Europe. It's just a dream to walk around the old town.
      For my recommendations I would say you have to have a traditional medieval meal as it's the oldest & best preserved medieval city in Europe. If you're feeling brave there's all sorts of wild animals to try. I heard that Olde Hansa (another medieval restaurant but it's WAYYY more expensive than the one we went to) serves bear!
      🐻
      Safe travels 😁✈️

    The last "santa" was no santa at all. He is the russian version of santa. We call him in Finland "pakkasukko"/(ded moroz, russian name) = the frozen old guy (free translation). Pakkasukko has often a blue coat while santa has a red one.

      @@LaurenCotter Under the Soviet occupation the Christmas was not officially allowed, so we had to celebrate the Russian style new year (Christmas was still celebrated at homes). But the man who gives presents was never in blue in Estonian tradition. We had Näärivana (Näärid is an old word for new year and vana means just an old (man), but the original old guy - the Santa - is Jõuluvana - Yule Old Man.
