      I'm an Aussie and we were in the UK in mid 2015. I loved the Globe theatre although there was a production on so I only saw the outside and the museum. The Tate Modern was one of my highlights from London. My husband didn't appreciate it as much as I did lol. We wanted to do the London Eye but it was sooo busy in August we skipped it. Hopefully next time.

    I loved London! All of the UK actually. So much history and natural beauty, more so as the weather warms up. The sound of church bells was something I really remember, they are everywhere. And beautiful gardens and architecture. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but pork pies are a favourite picnic food and usually eaten cold.

    We Brits think that tea in a bag is uncivilized. Toad In A Hole and Bangers And Mash are two British "delicacies". A full English breakfast includes toast, eggs, blood sausage, bacon, potatoes and tomatoes. Should be easy to find at any bistro.
    If you go back, visit Buckingham Palace, The Tower, Covent Garden. Go shopping in Knightsbridge. Get great food at Harrods. Ride the tube, go to Leister Square and get 1/2 price theater tickets. Visit the British Museum and the National Gallery. Have a traditional ploughmans lunch at a pub. Visit Westminster Abbey and climb to the dome of St. Paul's. Oh, and don't forget to ride the London Eye.

    • @apfelprincess45
      @apfelprincess45 Před 5 lety

      Prince Charles said recently that he never uses tea bags cause they're made with plastic beading or something. As an Australian I prefer tea over coffee and have several cups a day and don't mind being uncivilized by using a teabag but also use loose leaf too. Standard hotel tea/coffee making facilities @ 1.41 that's what you'd get in an Aussie hotel/motel too or a variation of it. Very rare in American ones to find a kettle. Tea bags were in the room with the kettle Kat! And any supermarket, grocery store, you will find tea bags, look on the box and if it doesn't say loose leaf then they're bags. Go into that Patridges you passed @ 8.41, they'll have tea bags galore!

    Intresting fact: in the UK church bells are often rung on a sunday by people in a special English bellringing style. If you want to see them ring just Google the church and you can come along to visit on a practice night.

    Pork pies can be eaten hot or cold, you can often buy them fresh out of the oven from the bakers, but the jelly inside runs out all over so I prefer them cold. That one you got looks to be a large family size one, around November time we warm them in the oven and eat them with mushy peas, bit of a Bonfire Night tradition in some parts of the UK. (I'm from the UK too).

    Kat, you’re so adorable! Isn’t London great!? What I love in London is The London Eye. It is great for seeing the lay of the land, both day or night. It’s super close to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. The museums are GREAT. And shopping anywhere new is fun, even if you don’t buy. Harrods is wonderful and if you go to the Egyptian elevator it takes you to a Princess Di memorial deep downstairs in a very Egyptian decor. Love your enthusiasm and wonder.

When you go back, walk to the other side of Hyde park and there is an amazing tribute to Price Albert and across the street is Royal Albert Hall which is beautiful. Also I went to the Victoria and Albert Museum and was amaaazed at everything. You definitely need to see Big Ben, Parliament and Westminster Abbey. If you can go to Harrods, the prices are outrageous, but there are some beautiful art pieces there. I love your channel, please keep up the excellent vids.

    Next time you’re in London, go to fortnum and mason for tea! The queen gets her tea there 💁🏼‍♀️👑 I loved London and I miss traveling rn so this old vlog gave me some life!
    Camden was really fun too, I loved the markets there. And next time for Indian food, go to Brick Lane! The BEST Indian food!!! Soho was really fun for going out and dancing.
    Oh and you’ll have to see Piccadilly next time too!

    Tipps for London is definitely the area and Covent Garden. Lots of little shops and apple market. If the weather is British I love the portrait gallery nearby. The tower with Big Ben is not really worth it at the moment as it’s a building side.
    For sightseeing the bus line 15 passes by same sights and ends at the tower and tower bridge.
    For food I always love a good pub (also for English breakfast) otherwise a good Sunday roast with Yorkshire puddings. Or pies in general. There are so many to choose from.

    Best food is street food you'd find on any corner or around underground stations - any of the pasties (filled meat pastries). So much to see in and around London - especially if you like big cities. Also, not only fish and chips but just about ANY Indian food will be delicious! If you ever get more than a day, get on the train and see Windsor. So Pretty! And they have a river going through FILLED with swans.

    London is my absolute favorite city. I'd recommend doing all the tourist things and then leave time for lots of exploring. My bf and I have stumbled upon some of the best places by just having open time to explore. Definitely check out London's many markets like Camden market (not on a weekend, it's INSANE), borough market, Greenwich is awesome. It's just such an incredible city. Happy exploring ♥️

    Late at commenting but my favorite thing was the spiral stairs in the tube at Leicester Square station (I think). The stairs are equivalent to 15 floors. Absolutely fun to go down but uh shouldn't take them up unless emergency 🤣

    I only recently came across your channel and I'm pleased that you got to come to London. The weather can be so changeable, one day it can be hot and the next day really cold, so for clothing layers are best and comfortable shoes are a must - preferably waterproof lol. I hope you got your Hot Cross Buns home - they are tasty, as is shortbread. If you want a full English breakfast a lot of pubs serve them all day long. The teabags in your hotel were Tetley, which is one of the most popular brands along with PG Tips and Yorkshire Tea. If you want some posh teabags go to Harrods or Fortnum & Mason in Piccadilly - they both sell lots of tea and chocolates etc as souvenirs. and they both stay open until 8 or 9pm, except on Sundays.I hope you get to come back again soon!

    • @KatNesbitt
      @KatNesbitt  Před 5 lety

      Yes!! Thank you for taking the time to comment all of this! I really appreciate it and glad to hear about the tea! I haven't made it yet but I will probably brew some in the morning! And I was able to bring both over. So yummy! The hot cross buns almost had a citrus taste to them! Is there any particular pub you'd recommend to eat at specifically? And you're the second person to mention the chocolates so next time I will be bringing some back!
