This gentleman here is why I love these videos. Real stories of a golden age of military service. Stories of advancing technology and tactics. I love it !
Im sorry to here this gentleman has passed away. Im glad his story is here for everybody
My Father was killed in 1970 in Vietnam when I was 3 years old and only have one Memory of him holding me up so i could see the Lions @ the Bronx Zoo that i did not remember until i was 12 years old.
Growing up watching other kids play with their fathers was really hard and kids making fun of me because i didn't have a father was harder. But the hardest part of it was when I found out my Father died based on a lie that our Government made to get us in that War. Also watching it happen again in the Iraq War and just thinking of all those kids that have to feel as I did because of a lie.
I have a lot of respect for the Men and Women who put their lives on the line everyday to protect our freedom even though everyday we lose a piece of it.
Sad, but be proud.

Army Forward Observers calling fire from the slow flying L119 and their pilots were indeed extremely brave and unfortunately had a very short life expantancy as shoulder fired AK 47's could reach them. Their primary missions were to call fire for artillery. I was an Army Artillery Officer '66 thru '73,
