- Hello all, and welcome to my channel! Thank you for checking out this video.
I am a passionate music fan as well as an actively performing mobile DJ. I grew up on the progressive rock movement of the 70s and decided it's finally time to check out some modern prog!! Please join me on this journey and enjoy/discover along with me.

You will appreciate the fantastic virtuosity of all of the members of the band if you watch the live video of this song, it is quite phenomenal. Keep the Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson reactions coming and you can't go wrong.
Bravo dude! 12 mins in and no pauses!!! Some reaction videos pause every few seconds, or play over the top. THIS is a reaction masterclass.👏👏👏
You absolutely need to check out the live version of this from "Get All You Deserve". Seeing it performed makes it considerably better, and they nail it!
Great listen, and great review!
This is a great album. Every song. The Watchmaker and Drive Home are favorites of mine.
If you want more of that jazzy style from Steven Wilson, The Holy Drinker or Remainder The Black Dog could interest you as well (or, if you're up for a longer track, Raider II seems right up your alley considering what you liked about this piece)
" Steven Wilson - lead vocals, mellotron, keyboards, guitars, bass guitar on "The Holy Drinker" "
This tune is such a vibe, the whole album is incredible. Amazing musicians playing on this record, Guthrie Govan's guitar work especially!
The bassist, Nick Beggs, is a fantastic musician!
React to the watchmaker from him ... What a masterpiece 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 and if u prefer, do the live version, to watch all the things with the great musicians they are. But also the magic studio version is equally good, not visually, but for the hear 😝✌🏻
This is a live must watch! To see the band members in action is awesome!
Theo Travis plays the flute, clarinet and saxophone. He’s very talented. The guy on keys has played with Miles Davis. But I cannot remember his name without research 😊 Did check his name anyway on my Cd and his name is Adam Holzman. By the way it’s Nick Beggs on bass 😊
do The Holy Drinker!!
If you feel like checking out a current prog band that very much draws on some old and modern classics (King Crimson and The Mars Volta, mostly) but also builds their own unique sound, check out the band Poly-Math. Either their song "Sensors in Everything" (which is almost 15 minutes long but worth it) or "Velociter" from their latest album should hit the spot for you.
I have a new band recommendation: Fates Warning. They are a criminally underrated progressive metal band. "The Longest Shadow of the Day" is a good intro to them. The song itself has such an incredible and progressive intro
heck yes!
Ancestral would be another track like this to try.. Off his Hand cannot erase album.2015 both of these tracks can be found performed live via youtube, Not to missed!
Apollo by Big Big Train live at The Boerderij, Zoetermeer, Netherlands, September 2022.
pos.ted on youtube a few hours ago.
This song is a love letter to 70s prog
believe it or not, the live version from mexico city on dvd (more than you deserve DVD) blows this studio edition away. Its so much better.
Not at all. The guitar solo is butchered at the end.
@@nikelodeon6852 Agreed, the live version can't compare with what Guthrie did in the studio.
