Sometime in late ’96, the roots of disco and minimalist funk began to creep into Phish’s improvisational escapades. This DJ mix stitches together a selection of these endeavors: deep trance grooves, chunky rock beats, disco basslines, and of course, unabashed cowfunk ~~~ enjoy

Big thanks to phish.net's @the_Landlady for the album art! - Hudba
12:49 That twist is disco phunk fire right there
Phish are the goats... And even at 60 years old they are the supreme jam band still and tbh are playing better and tighter as a band than ever before
Beast
I listened to this mix while watching the eclipse, thanks
I tell ya what..that 2001> Gin will get you where you wanna go. Hell this whole mix is butter
When that cymbal hits in 2001
What time is the 2001 at? Should know by now, but it pops on randomly at work and my co-workers get stoked. I've converted so many of them to jam bands/jam grass/jam tropical, etc it awesome. Like that interview with Bob and Trey, and Trey is talking about his first dead experience and he compares to a baseball batt hitting him in the head, finally letting him know music out there exists and Bob just sits there with a white grin and goes "my pleasure" hahaha.
@@euphoricyeti10001 check in at the 22:30 mark somewhere between that and 23:30
The fact that the whole thing is a big, fat Tube sandwich put a BIG smile on my face
Exactly.
ur a tube sandwich...jk love you
Holy shit this is the first time I heard Catapult live, that was so dope.
My new sewing soundtrack. These very songs inspired my patchwork design sewn in VT back then. And they are just as inspirational today as I start a groovy Phish quilt today!
i need pants w squares down the seam
i want my style back, im goin old skool
The transitions are top notch. Slow clap.
Fin-Flippin-tastic. This makes workin' the overnight a joyful swim in a nourishing pond of superior tunage.
A+ !!! only complaint is it isn't longer lol I could listen to this for days
Funny how many of these shows I was at. Thank god.
Yeah man, I started noticing that too.

Jeff Cassell yes.
phish destroys america????
that twist jam is juicy in a good way
Tube from 6-24-04 is the best one
*your favorite and dont make fun of the your if I typed it wrong.
Mike's subtle creativity in the Tube opener is something to behold.
This is such a fire tape. Great job, keep them coming. I'll be spinning this for a long time.
Jah bless these country-fried hams.
That's what we call steamed clams!
A stellar selection. You, sir, are a master.
I literally thought the first 11 minutes were one jam until i realized theres a setlist. This twist jam tho
Me dancin w my sewing machine! Such good workey phishie vibey getting stuff done mixtape! Lols
This straight deep dark flippy floppy funk...Nicely mixed, thanks.
I don't listen to Phish as much as I used to but when I do I choose expertly crafted mixes like this.
Damn this is awesome! Yay Phish!
Super great for working.
You, sir. God bless ya!
Great job dude. I love all your mixes. Keep'em comin'. That Ventura cities is so in the pocket. Nice touch at the end too.
My first Phish show. Three drops of liquid and I was peaking at that cities bowie cities. Had heard the talking heads version of cities growing up but damn... Phish blew me away with that cover.
I've come back to this mix many times over. Thank you for the effort and smooth transitions!!!
More like this please
42:02 is some sick bassing
I was just about to say at the 42 min mark.... i mounted my pet unicorn and rode it bareback over the rainbow......into a sea of mermaids
I took my pet unicorn out into the back yard and threw it in the baby pool and had my way with him while listening to that jam. The dogs didn’t know what to think.
The catapult - boogie is so smooooth and everything after 42:00 is likewhoa
That's my favorite 10 minutes of phish right there
Always wish they'd turn up Mike for these moments.
That drum fill at 9:23
This is ddddddddope. 42:00 is just fire.
Thank you for your mixes. amazing to hear such original takes on these jams. And thank you, Phish!
They say lightning in a bottle. My great friend, you have just bottled up lightning!

Great job on the transitions, and a great choice of funky jams
Cavern at end is from 04/05/98 if you were wondering
nice surprise to discover this nugget in my feed
This is really, really good
Very Nice!!!
thanks brah!
The tube that starts this off is both one of my favorites and imo seriously underrated! 2.0 in general is somewhat underrated!😂😂 unpopular opinion…
I've been LOVING listening to '03 straight through. There is some serious heat.
damn, this is fucking tight bro.. thank you.
love the transition at 42:04
This is flame sir. Pretty seamless transitioning, SBD's ftw
Doubt the catapult from big Cyprus is SBD, but yes this mix is 🔥
this is.....just wow! ☺🙌👽👍
I put this on 1 night and 9 months later my wife had a baby!
I just impregnated myself.
Pretty sure it actually takes ten months for a pregnancy. Might wanna get a DNA test to make sure its your kid 😂
@@shanewnukowski6844 Maybe so maybe not....
want to like, but feel its necessary to leave the like count at 69 :)
@Chalkdust 69
Classic hidden track. Great mix(es)!
"For those of you who want to take off, take off..."
And not a soul left the building.
A+
nice picks
Dude! Well done, great mix, seamless
Yeah, sweet mix man....
very nice I like!
Thanks
Groovin’ mix brother. Masterful transitions, straight heat all the way through
thank you brother! I always thought it would be a good soundtrack to a neo-western film!
Dig the mix.
Nice mix, groovin
So much fun
Yo Curt this mix is fantastic. Well done and thanks for making this Friday morning in the office get "there" ;)
I wish I could see how many times I've listened to this front-to-back. Incredible!
@Curt Lyon
Dude. Thank you so much for this.
One of the reasons I love live music, and it's one of the main things hurting me during this thing right now, is what it does for my brain. It lets me shut off part of it. Which, if you'll note by this length and my other comments, is kinda nice. Haha.
The part of me that worries about all these little things (in the long run) is occupied and pacified by the rhythm. Every once in awhile, mid-long jam (like 20+ minutes in) live, I'll have a dramatic personal revelation, or consider something from an angle I'd never looked at before. Live music helps me figure out my life. It's a very specific, show-related thing. Hard to get without shows. Honestly one of the things keeping me sober. It's been rough, w the social distancing.
That all said, this is a mix made up almost perfectly of that mix of the parts at shows that help me out. It's hitting me in all the right spots, and. It's just so refreshing. I'm feeling better for a bit, and that's awesome. Thank you. (Phish is so baller.)
im relating to what you wrote so much
Dope ass Compilation... best one yet... props...
I do understand this is more 97 97 00s but i would love to have had the Greek Cities in this
Took me one year to realize the disco ball is the LivePhish icon
at 27 min is the 7/10/97 gin. so hot
That show needs a proper LivePhish release so badly. Both sets are fantastic, and the AUDs for that show have always been rubbish. Even when I got them in the spring of 98, it sounded awful.
I SAID RELEASE IT, DAMMIT!
deBebbler remaster up on phishtracks
Yeah, I've heard it. Nothing against the one who did the work, because they did the best they could with what they had, but now it is a garbage AUD recording without the tape hiss.
seamless
I cant take this...blow my mind why dont you?
slllliiiiiiick.
44 min chyeeah
I like.
I like a lots.
54:25 cannot be messed with, ultimate mike groove
Niiiiiiice
👋 nice death star mix

YES. Seriously would love to get a .rar of this one if you can swing it.
Yah buddy.
