Nomi: You need to be concerned about your batteries freezing. Especially in the temperatures you are having back east, your batteries can freeze if they are not well insulated. Here’s a couple tips: 1. Do not park anywhere you have the battery compartment and the engine front pointed INTO the wind if at all possible. This is no different than living in the Midwest with a car in a blizzard. There are wind screens you can put on the front of your Thor to break excessive wind. If I can find one, I’ll post one for you later. 2. Remember that the cold will reduce the ability of your batteries to hold power, so don’t be afraid to run the engine so you keep your batteries as fully charged as possible. Charging actually warms up the battery. 3. Make darn sure your exhaust pipes for the engine and generator are not plugged with snow. Carbon monoxide is not a joke and can kill you. 4. You can use a scoop of inexpensive deodorizing kitty litter in your toilet to absorb your waste, it can eliminate the odors and stretch out your bag disposals. 5. Check with your dealer manufacturer to see if you need to run liquid heat of some type in the fuel of your engine and generator in the Extreme cold to keep your fuel lines from freezing Those liners get extremely expensive. And 6. I’m not happy with the lack of customer education you got with the purchase of your Thor. I’ve noticed there are a LOT of women living in Thor’s like yours and we run into them regularly at our local camping spots and parks. Many of them are having issues and got ZERO customer training/education. It’s frustrating for the price you paid for your rig, to get so little hands on training. We’ve helped several people at the campgrounds figure out how to their error codes and what to do. Might be a good time to come out to Southern California- yesterday 12/25 it was 84° and we BBQed our Christmas dinner outside next to the lake here at the campgrounds. I’d have been happy to have made an extra plate for you. We live full time in our Class A. If I can help you out, look me up on FB and message me. Merry belated Christmas.

I'm an 81-lady living a good life in coastal CA, thanks to my oldest daughter and a cozy little cottage we build. But since the pandemic started, I found You Tube and follow van lifers. I’m in Canada and it’s currently minus 30 Celsius. I’m 77 and do all my own snow clearing and look after my two German Shepherd Dogs. If I can do it I’m sure you’ll be able to make it through the winter. You’re strong and you’ll be fine!

Hi there, I am from Germany and living in my van, too! This Jan-Feb, I spend my first winter in a vehicle. I have build in a tiny stove so this was not a big problem. This allows me to stay off-grid even in winter for 5-7 days, until I need wood or freshwater... Stay safe and happy 😊👍

I live near Lansing, MI and I plow snow. This was a very crazy storm. 50 mile an hour winds and 6 inches of snow made for extreme conditions. I’m impressed with how calm you are in the midst of the storm.

I’ve had to adapt to a lot of things, but would it be better for me to pity myself and ‘woe is me’ or do little things I enjoy everyday. Make my environment nice. Make something lovely. Go for a walk with my dogs. Watch something on television for the belly laughs! It’s about mindset love. I know it’s hard, but we can do this. I know I’ll be fine, it’s just a matter of time. Xxx

Yes, you have come a long way in your voyage. So much more confident in the decisions you make and more decisive about your future plans. Do you ever feel doubtful about your future? Good luck in the snow storms. That's the main reason I live in Florida. I have had the snow experience many years ago as a young child. Do not miss having to jump out of windows to get to shed and find the shovels so we could dig the doorways out. Of course mom would reward me with wonderful homemade hot chocolate and a hot breakfast. I was oldest of 3 children and my place to help dad keep it cleared up.

My husband had suffered from dementia for 10 years and I was my husband's caregiver. I had a commode in his room near his hospital bed and I used the liners and they were awesome and easy to use.
Very pretty been along time since I saw snow 4 christmas I live in va and we got the cold and wind but no snow we got rain and ice it got down 2 -10 deg and lost power I got a wood stove at least I was warm

I live in the South and the outside temperature here was 1 degree Fahrenheit at 9:30 this morning and windy as well….it’s 6 degrees now. It’s quite unusual for the temperature here to be lower than it is in Michigan. Very unusual. I just happened to think of something: Is there a way you could look back over this year (2022), and tell us your “favorites” (restaurants, stealth spots, tourist spots, etc.). She just acted much more relaxed...not clock-watching & telling herself she only had so much time to complete her tasks! She's very hard on herself @ times & then relaxes & says, "Oh well! I'll have to do that another time!" I feel like she's breathing easier now.
I think because she works so many hours a day, so many other stuff go back and fortg she does etc and she eats like only one real meal in one day. Overwork her body and not enough food. She will be better now hopefully

I’m in Canada and it’s currently minus 30 Celsius. I’m 77 and do all my own snow clearing and look after my two German Shepherd Dogs. If I can do it I’m sure you’ll be able to make it through the winter. You’re strong and you’ll be fine!

Hi there, I am from Germany and living in my van, too! This Jan-Feb, I spend my first winter in a vehicle. I have build in a tiny stove so this was not a big problem. This allows me to stay off-grid even in winter for 5-7 days, until I need wood or freshwater... Stay safe and happy 😊👍

The next day was the "blizzard of the century in Buffalo NY!" I survived I shouldn't, I thought I was gone! Thank God, my daughter all the way from NC made it happen! I was rescued! Because of her! God is good!

I live near Lansing, MI and I plow snow. This was a very crazy storm. 50 mile an hour winds and 6 inches of snow made for extreme conditions. I’m impressed with how calm you are in the midst of the storm.

I'm in van in New Zealand.cant avoid cold weather. I use a $25 12v electric blanket with a cheap portable battery. .. very cozy...

I love your channel, and I am very much an introvert and empath too. I find it helps me look after my environment and therefore it’s like self care. I’ve had to adapt to a lot of things, but would it be better for me to pity myself and ‘woe is me’ or do little things I enjoy everyday. Make my environment nice. Make something lovely. Go for a walk with my dogs. Watch something on television for the belly laughs! It’s about mindset love. I know it’s hard, but we can do this. I know I’ll be fine, it’s just a matter of time. Xxx

Yes, you have come a long way in your voyage. So much more confident in the decisions you make and more decisive about your future plans. Do you ever feel doubtful about your future? Good luck in the snow storms. That's the main reason I live in Florida. I have had the snow experience many years ago as a young child. Do not miss having to jump out of windows to get to shed and find the shovels so we could dig the doorways out. Of course mom would reward me with wonderful homemade hot chocolate and a hot breakfast. I was oldest of 3 children and my place to help dad keep it cleared up.

My husband had suffered from dementia for 10 years and I was my husband's caregiver. I had a commode in his room near his hospital bed and I used the liners and they were awesome and easy to use.
I did the same for my mom.

I live in the South and the outside temperature here was 1 degree Fahrenheit at 9:30 this morning and windy as well….it’s 6 degrees now. It’s quite unusual for the temperature here to be lower than it is in Michigan. Very unusual. I just happened to think of something: Is there a way you could look back over this year (2022), and tell us your “favorites” (restaurants, stealth spots, tourist spots, etc.). That would be a very interesting video!! A recap of 2022: Things you learned along the way that, maybe, changed your perspective on Van life, for the better, or things you have changed before going full time on the road, etc. I love watching your videos, and keep looking for the most recent one!! 😊❤

There was such a noticeable difference...I feel as though I was watching a completely different person! She just acted much more relaxed...not clock-watching & telling herself she only had so much time to complete her tasks! She's very hard on herself @ times & then relaxes & says, "Oh well! I'll have to do that another time!"
I feel like she's breathing easier now.
I think because she works so many hours a day, so many other stuff go back and fortg she does etc and she eats like only one real meal in one day. Overwork her body and not enough food. She will be better now hopefully
