You have such a nice city i just think you need to densify north of downtown with a density bonus incentive and rezone south as warehouses. Good luck! Your city will keep growing!

Strongly considering a move to the Phoenix area this summer. I've always wanted the West coast experience 💯

Too bad Phoenix doesn't have good public transportation (no, folks, that choo-choo train called the light rail doesn't count) and a good walkable pedestrian-friendly downtown area full shops, restraurants, and cultural things to do. What there is costs a pretty penny. I think Phoenix might have had a chance at becoming a world-class city if it had evolved differently. Instead, things like night-life and museums tend to be flung out into the suburbs like planets in the solar system and the downtown area is left with a lot of office buildings, courts, some academic institutions, sports venues, and only a few places of general interest, I'm sure a lot of people will point out the exceptions, but generally Phoenix's downtown area ranks in the lower half of major city downtowns... certainly below what one would expect of the nation's fifth largest city. The streets are in good shape, though, and the more interesting places outside of the downtown area tend to have adequate parking - which is a big plus. Interestingly, Phoenix once had a pretty decent downtown area - but many of those buildings were knocked down decades ago and the resulting mid-rise buildings are descript only in their unimpressiveness (with the exception of the now empty Chase Building); as a friend visiting from a major (larger) city once said wearily, "Is there nowhere in this city that has any CHARM?" The city seems to be trying, though. Maybe one day it will succeed.

It's a heroin shit storm. With pampered cops. It's the exact opposite of whatever you consider tasteful. If you're visiting downtown, the Dbacks are the best thing going. Maybe try to catch a game.

Don't blame the Dbacks if you catch a whiff of human feces or lit heroin on your walk to the ballpark, though.
