This was a fantastic series set in the bleak landscape of 1980's Poland!. This film really makes you fee like you were back in that time period. Intricate plots and side stories with flashbacks that tie up all of the loose ends. A Film you need to pay attention to actually understand what has really happened and is happening. A five star screenplay which was authenticate and interesting, every step of the way. Polish Cinema at its best with edges of true Polish folklore taking place in the surrounding forest.
Niestety, ma premierę w środku tygodnia, bez promocji przez Netflixa, nawet głupiego oficjalnego trailera. Netflix potraktował ten serial jak zapchajdziurę. Sukcesu wielkiego nie wróże.

Only a Polish series could represent the Nazis in a better light than the Soviets. On the other hand, the series begins with a Nazi saying "you'll regret us", probably expressing the sentiment of the series creators. Despite this, an excellent series.
What exactly do you imply ? Poles fought however they could against the Nazis (I mean, the Polish government never collaborated, contrary to some other countries, and the polish army continued to fight underground - ever heard of Armia Krajowa ? or the Anders Army ? Zegota ?). Poles obviously suffered way more (in terms of casualty) and more intesenly (in terms of repression) because of the Nazis, which, besides the extermination of Jews, massively targeted non-Jewish civilians - mass executions, systematic bombing of refugees by the Luftwaffe, operation Tannenberg, AB-Aktion, the Warsaw uprising massacre... I'll remind you that 6 millions Polish civilian (among which 3M Polish Jews) were killed during WWII. But they also suffered greatly - and above all, LONGER - because of the Russians/Soviets (I mean, we're talking about 50 years of occupations, that started during WWII with the numerous massacres that they organised, notably the Katyn massacre - 20 000 dead... Plus, the deportation of hundres of thousands of people, the execution of opponents, etc.

Better watch it with English subtitle. Btw i just finished it and it was amazing. Poles are doing good job lately

I watched it and left puzzled did not understand a thing can you plz explain the story for me?
Actually it takes place in 1997 and the flashbacks go to 1944.
the translations may not be the best in terms of giving context to what was being said in terms of the state
