Where's the sword...?
Wait...are we meant to be dancing AROUND a sword(s)? And not...incorporating it into the dance? What's the point of having a sword there, then?

There's a good series of both historical reasons with accompanying old wives tales as to why the swords are on the ground. If you want a sword dance from Scotland where the swords are in hand try the Dirk Dance.
