I bought a pair of the barefoot rangers and love them. I wore them on a 10 day bird hunt, where we walked 12 to 15 miles a day, and my feet loved them. I used a short gaiter and tied my pants legs low to keep out debris. However, like the post above I was considering special ordering an 8" barefoot boot. This is great news, and you will have sold a pair in advance when they come out. Two requests: 1) Consider a padded collar, which will aid in blousing pants and holding them in place. 2) Consider the Munson Army Last, which is allows for a completely straight big toe. All in all, your boots are fantastic. Thanks for all you do.

I'm really looking forward to those 8" barefoot boots, the shorter top was my only hesitation with the normal African Ranger Barefoots and those would pretty much solve them for what I'd like in a boot.

I got the barefoot African Ranger and love them very much! The barefoot AR 8" is beautiful! I can't wait to get Buffalo version of the AR 6" version coming...or a barefoot buffalo version of the Razorback. Also, in the Vegan vs video, you asked if folk would not mind leather that could help wildlife that might be scuffed up a bit. I'd be thrilled with that used as much as you can! Not so much for the story to tell, but for what it can do for what it can do for animals and humans to make the situation better. Thanks so much for what you are doing!
Black looks more versatile for other environments and occasions while the other colors look specifically for outdoors and casual activities. I’m buying black for sure !

You guys should consider making boots in a rough-out "Sage Green" style. The United States Air Force had used this style until 2021 when they changed uniforms. Out of any style of leather or other material, I found it to be most resilient against use & abuse throughout the years (for 3 years as an electrician). It's not the prettiest, but when the goal is absolute toughness, I'm certain it's the best style out there.
For the Houston Black boots with leather mid-soles, please consider keeping the leather mid-soles natural tan color (instead of coloring black). I think it gives a visual indication of the quality.
I just pre-ordered some Numzaans after buying a pair of shoellies. I thought to myself "Damn I really want a pair of moc toes someday. I'll wait until Jim Green comes out with a pair. I'm sure they'll make them eventually." And lo and behold haha
I have a custom pair of shoellies with the BF last/sole on order, and a friend has a pair of barefoot outbacks on order as well. Definitely seems like JG is the best equipped company to kick ass with high quality barefoot style shoes.
I would definitely love a barefoot 8 inch boot especially if it's in the natural veg re-tan leather option. Using some thick leather cream to make it more water resistant would make it the perfect boot for my specific use case.
So, I've been enjoying my African Rangers, but I'd prefer if they had a taller shaft that went over the ankle. It would keep debris out of the boot better. Honestly, it looks like the Numzaan kind of fills that niche, but I'd still like to see a tall African Ranger, with the single layer of leather (for hot environments) and padded collar. Happy to see all the new styles you guys are putting out.
Overall super proud to see the improvements to my hometown bootmaker. 'Best in Africa' is either already there or not far from reach. The uniforms and factory are looking amazing and I hope to visit one day. I think keeping one youtube channel is smarter, it gives a cohesive overview of how active and alive the company is in various areas. Users can always ignore what they don't want to see. The introduction of more heritage style, formal-ish boots from the north hemisphere are lovely to see. And of course, the JG identity shines through. Solid materials, honest construction and respect to the customer. The experimentation of custom boots must surely show how versatile the mainline boot silhouettes have become. The new leathers look lovely in the Numzaan shape. The optional Toecapless (?) forms are also nice, I'd probably choose one of these for a slimmer profile. I recommend considering black eyelets for the black leather, I think the current bare metal details can be a bit distracting.
Still wearing my original African Ranger Houston Browns every day. I can’t wait to wear them through this summer. they’ve been great this winter with just a coat of mink oil. I wouldn’t mind a little interview with your dad talking about the early days. And I am curious how some of those machines work.
All the houston colors are upgrades from the original brown and black. Veg tan walnut is absolutely awesome, and houston green looks so much better in person than expected. It's hard to believe that multiple sizes of walnut and houston black barefoots are already sold out! I honestly still love my outbacks and feel they need to make a comeback. The perfect setup to see those take-off would be the veg tan walnut with the frog grip sole. That is the combo to make the slip on chelsea boots gain more traction. Who agrees?

Practical leather hiking boots that look good, are made well, and are affordable. I think that’s your niche. There is a huge gap in the market that you could fill. I always feel like my Nicks boots are too heavy and expensive to take hiking. I want a boot that I can do everything in and not worry about it. I want to see the capless Numzaan made in the Houston Green with the black tire tread wedge sole. Also you should come out with a Houston Blue capless Numzaan on a white tire tread wedge sole. Your upcoming moc toes should come in a Houston Red on a white wedge, and khaki suede on black wedge. Also, make your moc toes wide, they are notoriously challenging to break in because of the extra stitching and toeliner. Lets Go!

I ordered my first ever Jim Green Numzaan in walnut (expecting delivery early March) and I already want those green without the toe cap. They are absolutely gorgeous. I hope at some point you start making a little less wide toe box for us with "normal" feet.

I have the Namzaan in natural. Been wearing them for about 3 weeks, every other day. The boot is great overall, but the best part is the sole. I have their lug sole on their chelsea Stockman boot and that one is way harder. Also a good boot, but it took a lot longer to break in that sole. The Namzaan has been great so far, may have to add the black if they go that route. That frog grip is super comfortable. I like the toe cap, I have a pair of Iron Rangers as well, these are definitely wider footprint, but the sole is more comfortable. Happy so far and looking for more innovation from this brand.
All the videos on one channel I think is more steamlined. I'm an american, and while I like american goods, I also really appreciate goods from other countries that are authentic to their country. I appreciate the mingled boot videos and videos about Africa.
