- What now guys?! Mad Murdoch here with a brand new video style of mine, a 'Deep Analysis' for 'Thursday', one of The Weeknd's first mixtapes. The 10th anniversary of 'Thursday' was almost half a month ago now, I really wanted to upload this video then; but was not aware or prepared for the amount of work I had to put in to create the video I envisioned. The script alone took me a few weeks to think about, then actually writing the script took a few days, I ended up with about 3500 words, structured and punctuated in a way I was happy with. Video Editing was the truly tedious part, took me hours and days to slowly build up each part of the narrative, making sure that each transition was smooth, each video and picture was selected for a reason and that the music I used suited every moment. I'm straying from my comfort zone of reaction videos, in an attempt to pursue my goal or dream of directing video production, filled with thoughts, emotion and imagination. I'm incredibly eager to release my first video like this and am hoping to receive feedback from anyone, good or bad :) Hope you guys enjoy, have a good one and I'll catch ya's later!

You should do a deep analysis of Echoes Of Silence
I have assume before that Valerie actually died during the birds part two. At the beginning of the song you hear her crying then just before Abels vocals begin there is a somewhat gun shot and then her crying stops. (I think she may have shot herself) Fast forward to gone, Abel is talking about her being gone, possibly gone as if she died. Then the song Valerie is Abel recognising he actually loved Valerie but now its too late. Shes gone for good.
HOLY SHIT! I would consider myself to be a diehard fan and I had never considered that before. Listening to it right now THAT IS A GUNSHOT and the birds at the end are crows flying away as a result of it. Ive listened to thursday easily 100+ times and have never thought about that. THANK YOU so much. that add so much to one of my favorite songs on the album.

Sorry for replying so late, but this always confused me. I thought the same until I checked the genius page for Till Dawn from Echoes, and it says "Continuing the ambiguity of the previous song, Abel concludes the Trilogy on a rather triumphant note for both himself and Valerie.". This however is a discrepancy, since Echoes are the aftermath of House Of Balloons, but I believe Echoes takes place after Thursday as well. So what is going on there?

Gunshot was possibly/more logically Valerie shooting whoever Weeknd was sleeping with while seeing her. To me the lyrics of Gone sound like they’re being high.
Kinda wish he would’ve actually recorded The Birds interlude. IMO The Birds Pt.2 is the best song on this tape because of how deep it is, took me awhile to realize the beginning signified that Valerie killed herself (hence the gunshot before he starts singing)

You forgot to mention the genius producers who helped define the entire trilogy saga, illangelo and doc McKinney. They are largely responsible for Abel’s original sound and why all three mixtapes sound so amazing.

When I first heard What you Need and Thursday man this was back in 2013 the songs had an eerie musical form that was unexplainable… I absolutely ❤ it these types of albums need to be known and recognized for those listening to Dawn FM and After Hours …
This mixtape is my favorite of all time. Definitely gonna draw inspiration from it when I drop mine
I have heard that he was very much under the influence when he made gone & basically went into the studio and freestyled most of the song…you can tell when the beat switch comes in

Life of the party is actually extremely dark, especially the ending where he pretty much manipulates Valarie into doing things she wouldn’t normally do to him and he’s friends .
