- This was a request sent a while back. Haven't heard too much Castlebeat til' recently. Very good stuff. Love the whole vibe Josh creates. The drums are really simple and didn't take much time to program. I dig the simplicity of this track and how it turned out. Fun to make. Let me know what you think in the comment section down below. You've totally replicated the sound man, good job! How did you record the guitars? is it a straight DI in? Any effects / plugins or pedals on it? I find if i record guitars straight into DI they end up sounding very 'boxy' and not clean like in Josh's recordings.

Thank you for watching!!! For this particular song, I over dubbed my vocals then added the following chain- Compression, EQ (boosting the mids and a little of the highs), saturation and then some reverb.

What is the setting you used for the guitars and bass ?
On my recording software I used the following effects for both- Compression, EQ, And saturation. But for the guitar I added some reverb and chorus. No pedals just whatever effects Ableton had available. I will be doing a detailed video on different ways to achieve the dream pop guitar sound! Stay posted.💪🏻
