    Great job keeping the jet in frame like always! but don't know if you will see this comment but do you use a mono-pod or a tri-pod to keep the camera steady?

    I've got the f18E but I'm trying to figure out where the dark and light grey separation is. It's not easy. I'm making a model of it and trying to get it just right

    The "E" model (1 seat) and the "F" model (two seat) are much larger than the A thru D models. Bigger range, more payload.

    1:03 the lather is incorporated into the wing ,what a brilliant idea , but what a unnecessary weight adding in the same time

    Wait they said the pilot was with the Thunderbird's once and, i think that's AirForce but yet he's flying a Navy jet?

    How can I distinguish Block 1 and 2 from the outside ?

    It is called the "Rhino" because of the small bump on the nose, just ahead of the cockpit, named after the Rhinoceros,

    • @guillermodelcastillo2548
      @guillermodelcastillo2548 Před 5 lety

      Wrong guy.....that "bump" is referred to as the pizza box. The Rhino was originally "unofficially" given to the Marine Corps F-4.......mainly due to it's big bulky appearance. Same as the two seat variant of the Super Hornet. The F/A-18F........learn your aircraft before you write dumb shit on the internet.

  • @cott10r
    @cott10r Před 9 lety +1

    why does the announcer keep calling it a rhino?

    • @211engine
      @211engine Před 9 lety

      cott10r because the f/a-18 e/f model is known as the rhino.

    • @Pscans1234
      @Pscans1234 Před 9 lety

      the super hornet has the nickname rhino because of the small bump in front of the canopy on top of nose.

    • @trevorthomas1620
      @trevorthomas1620 Před 9 lety

      cott10r Plus its the sam as why the F-16 is nicknamed the viper.

    I know they look cool and there apparently the best strike fighter but it justs looks sluggish..

    • @r0naj30
      @r0naj30 Před 8 lety +1

      He was flying mostly at the 350-400 knots, and if by "sluggish" you mean smooth then the Super Hornet is definitely "sluggish"

    • @jasoar1563
      @jasoar1563 Před 8 lety

      Well i'm a hornet fan but honestly watch an F16 or mig29 demo and see them whip around and accelerate with ease out of a high G turn.

      @mbrazile1 Před 8 lety

      +Jaso AR15
      i would argue that this aircraft could outperform an f-16 in just about every single way. the only disadvantage it has is being far heavier than the 20 thousand or so pound F-16.

    • @jasoar1563
      @jasoar1563 Před 8 lety

      Yes well I hope so I have defended the hornet many times 😊 i believe with weapons on the hornet can pull up to 8 g but the lil 16 is limited to 6g and probe to depature with eeapons on.

    Super Hornet is a heavy piece of shit

    • @EFFYOUTWAAT
      @EFFYOUTWAAT Před 8 lety

      Well, it doesn't quite manage the slow manoeuvring as gracefully as Russian aircraft. I still think money could have been better spent on upgrading the Tomcat, especially if you're just going to make something as heavy as the Super Hornet anyway....

    • @EFFYOUTWAAT
      @EFFYOUTWAAT Před 8 lety

      Well whatever, the Super Hornet is still a heavy piece of crap, yes the F-14 was heavier, but its been replaced with something as heavy as the Tornado F3, I don't think that says much good.

    • @waterbug1221
      @waterbug1221 Před 8 lety

      the tomcat was a mechanical disaster compared to the super hornet. with a full super hornet fleet you can fit more planes on a carrier as well compared to a tomcat

    • @altosh7
      @altosh7 Před 8 lety +1

      Super hornet heavy piece of crap? Really dude? F-18 is the best multi-role fighter jet of USA so close your mouth

    • @robertmantell1700
      @robertmantell1700 Před 7 lety

      Douglas Smith - You mean the A-7 then? The Super Hornet was not intended as a Tomcat replacement, it was a follow on / update to the Bug that just happened to be the right plane at the right time.
      Logistically the Super B makes sense for the reasons mentioned, also airframe compatibility: if your Growler squadron needs a critical part then it's probably not going to be grounded as they can ask any Super squadron for a replacement provided it's not something exclusive to the Growler.
      More weaps carried on two added hardpoints, 41% greater range thanks to it's added fuel capacity, and it's a brand new airframe. Upgraded engines are more powerful and more efficient than those on her sister a/c and the Tomcat.
      Look, I miss seeing the Tomcat too, amd there are things the Cat can do that the Hornet never will be able to ( range and....well range is it I guess). And sure, the Super B is less manueverable than the Cat, but there was another plane in the USN and USAF inventory.....oh, and USMC, RAF, IAF, etc, that could do everything just good enough to make itself one of the most prolific fighters of all time: The F-4. While the Super Hornet might seem like a piece I bet you'll find 30 or 40 years down the road that it was a great aircraft after all.
