My beloved Pave, I miss the smell of your leaking hydraulic fluid, stripped nutplates and safety wiring your spoon chip detector. Pave low leads! - Robo
I sure miss the United States Air Force Special Operations Command Sikorsky MH-53J Pave Low III and Sikorsky MH-53M Pave Low IV Helicopters of the 20th Special Operations Squadron "Green Hornets" when they where at Hulbert Field in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida! Also the 21st Special Operations Squadron "Dust Devils" from RAF Mildenhall, England in the United Kingdom! These where awesome helos and among my most favorites in the United States Air Force along with the older Sikorsky MH-53H Pave Low IIs, HH-53B/C/H Super Jolly Green Giants, Sikorsky HH-3E Jolly Green Giants, Sikorsky CH-3E Jolly Green Giants, Sikorsky MH-3E Jolly Green Giants, Sikorsky HH-60G and MH-60G Pavehawks, Sikorsky HH-60W Jolly Green IIs, Bell UH-1N/V and TH-1H Hueys. All great helos! Love this video! Also if another song was used, that song Bones by Alice In Chains would work!
X- Engine Troop for the Mighty MH-53 Pave Low-- 31st SOS, South Korea 98-2001. I could still remember riding the 53 from Osan AB to Guam- damn smooth ride, but cold as hell. RIP my ol friend-- :c(
Rest in Peace my ol friends.. You're ol Engine Troop lil Joe the Pro from Frisco-- -Most memoriable time on a fifty three- flying from South Korea all the way to Guam-- smooth ride my friends-smooth
hell yes! you are so right. its a shame she went into retirement. but, at least her cousin the ch-53 is still used frequently by the navy. so in a way, she still lives on! :D
Alright, thanks... I was just a little confused because my uncle is in the Army Rangers and he said he rode in a Pave low once, but the next month they decided to retire them... needless to say he was disappointed =)
@HoBoMoBob , from my understanding it's mission was replaced by several different aircraft, from several different branches. Including the CV-22's, What ever the 160th SOAR uses now and the HH-60 to take its secondary CSAR role.
well it apparently was replaced by a stronger heli, (which I don't believe) and a faster heli (I believe) but still I don't see why they can't use such a safe heli to transport troops instead of the awkward looking Chinook =)
is this the helicopter that one of the deciptiCONS are in transformers? it looks really similar.. my dad rode in one of these and my cousins been a pilot since he was 18 ( he's 25 now) he says hes gonna take me flying one day. God Bless the USA. (and other countries :)
Are you sure there being taken out of service? I find it hard to believe there not that old compared to a number of halos and aircraft still in service and there fantastic in the role.
I know all good thing's must come to an end sooner or later but the 53 was ''damn good thing'' that shoulda been kept around alot longer ! I mean come on how many choppers can brag about never officialy haveing entered some one's airspace and dropped off or picked up teams that officialy were never there ; )
I hate the people who think pave lows are bloody 9 kill streak and all this mw2 shit. I think mw2 is a great game and i use the pave low as a kill streak on it. but at the end of day pave lows are real helicopters!
@Dan007CT Don't come on this site and throw out some movie reference to what real people in the real world do and have done. That is a disrespect to those that shed some blood and sweat to get the job done in the world few know anything about that keeps us all free.

Yes this was "Blackout" in the first movie. The second movie had a different version of roughly the same type of helicopter "CH-53E"
My dad flew these for 20 years. Many memories of hearing them going over my house. Miss these beasts. God Speed.
I am fuckin honored to be part of this amazing community. 03-07 moldyhell!

I watched the last 53 fly out of Hurlburt, used to be stationed there. Kinda sad, kinda happy.
Worked on them at Depot (NAS Pensacola), if asked to do it again "Get me some Tools, a Job Guide, and let's get to WORK"...
"PAVELOW Leads"...
It was good to see that video again. I hadn't seen it in ten years since I left the USAF. It was always being shown at Commander's Call.
Alright, thanks... I was just a little confused because my uncle is in the Army Rangers and he said he rode in a Pave low once, but the next month they decided to retire them... needless to say he was disappointed =)
Truly an impressive machine. Can't imagine being an enemy combatant and seeing one fly overhead, shock and awe...
i never saw it that way, that's cool
jolly green giant!
BonJovi!
The Pave Lows are being replaced with the CV-22 Ospreys. The replacement rotation began in North Africa last October during Operation Flintlock
Actually the MH-53's were Replaced By the Sikorsky HH-60G Pavehawk's
That's the thing though. They Never Said ANYTHING. :D
Never Talk, Never Brag.
So this is what the Pave low looks like in real life :)
couldn't picture it in clancys book clear and present danger :)
boy is it HUGE!
Just put in your search engine "MH-53J, Images".
