Painting: The Lament for Icarus by Herbert James Draper
In Greek mythology, Icarus was the son of the master craftsman Daedalus, the creator of the Labyrinth for King Minos of Crete. Although originally built to imprison the Minotaur (a half-man, half-bull monster), the Labyrinth later became Daedalus's own prison when Minos had him confined there.
Icarus and Daedalus attempted to escape from Crete by means of wings that Daedalus constructed from feathers and wax. Icarus, however, ignored Daedalus’ instructions not to fly too close to the sun, causing the wax in his wings to melt. He fell out of the sky, plunged into the sea, and drowned. The myth gave rise to the idiom "don't fly too close to the sun".

Thank you for cataloguing!
Love it. Thank you for sharing these. God bless you!
Much work went into the above list. Perhaps AI can help in the future. I am a bit of an ignoramus in classical music so it helps to educate me. Thank you.
There are 2 kinds of people here at any given time:
1) People who enjoy classical music, doing ordinary stuff like writing in their diaries, etc.
2) Absolutely unhinged villains playing it in the background while doing their daily wicked unhinged stuff
Litvinovsky was obviously inspired after watching Pirates of the Caribbean!
It's understandable - that soundtrack changed lives!
Gaillard even more in my opinion!! It sounds just like the soundtrack
Or sweet home?!?
It's crazy how these songs aren't actually sad but in context it's heartbreaking.
Listening to this on December 31st feels like what's ending is the world, not the year...
I have no words to describe the feeling that listening to dramatic classical music gives me, it is simply wonderful ❤️
i have a word : Unexplainable. Lmao
I can only agree🙂
i have just 3 words to describe it:
There's an enchantment in the air when the first notes of dramatic classical music resound. It's as if a symphony of emotions unfolds within me, each crescendo and delicate piano key painting a vivid landscape of feelings. The melodies intertwine with my soul, evoking a sense of wonder and awe.
As the haunting strings or powerful brass instruments take center stage, I feel transported to another realm, where time stands still, and emotions reign supreme. The music weaves a tale of passion, triumph, and melancholy, resonating deeply within the chambers of my heart.
With every beat and every measure, I'm swept away on a journey through a myriad of emotions. There's an indescribable beauty in the way each note is meticulously crafted, stirring up a whirlwind of sensations that range from euphoria to introspection.
The grandeur and depth of classical compositions create an immersive experience, making me feel as though I'm part of a larger narrative, one that transcends the boundaries of reality. The intensity of the music is a reminder of the boundless capacity of human expression and creativity.
In those moments of listening to dramatical classical music, I feel an overwhelming sense of wonder and bliss. It's a mesmerizing feeling-an amalgamation of emotions that words can scarcely capture. It's a reminder of the extraordinary power of music to uplift the spirit and touch the soul in ways that are truly profound and wondrous.
It brings tears to my eyes. Simultaneously majestic and heartbreaking. A great cultural heritage that we must not let fade away.
The moment it started playing 39:45 i suddenly remembered the noot noot meme😂
Ikr XD
I listened to this while reading my Bible outside this morning... it was so perfect. Thank you, Halidon, for providing us with the finest in dramatic music that the world has to offer. I am inspired for my own art to reach this level. Best wishes, friends.
You're always incredibly generous and supportive to us and we appreciate it more than we can say. And as for your artistic endeavours, with your determination and passion we're sure you're going to do great things!
I feel you JT. I work at a Catholic cemetery and this objectively beautiful playlist couldn't fit in any better.
@@jordantome5598That is awesome. I have the feeling we would get along quite nicely if I knew you in real life.
Live action roleplayer lol
Peace be unto you brothers and sisters. Here is a scripture...
1 Corinthians 12:12-14
English Standard Version
One Body with Many Members
12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body-Jews or Greeks, slaves[a] or free-and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many.
I remember being a little girl, wondering why my father admired classical music so much. Now I am older... I feel so different when I hear this music. I had a dramatic classical masterpiece stuck in my head & I had a nagging feeling that I should know what it's called so that's why I am here. Now that I am here, this music is giving me indescribable feelings. They're kind of intense feelings! The music is absolutely beautiful. I haven't ever listened to classical music on my own for long periods of time, but I believe that's going to change. Regardless, I remember always knowing that going to a real life show with an orchestra filling the air in a massive auditorium must be nothing short of an impeccable experience.
Recovering from food poisoning which was awful so I definitely needed something energetic to listen to. Thank you 😊
We're so sorry to hear it Charlotte, food poisoning is terrible! We hope you feel better soon ❤
Damn
Don't eat poison yo
how do you feel comfortable sharing that?
@@ngamaukinyua3055 Obviously very comfortable.
Evil classical music, rain and thunder outside, the ticking of the water on the window and lastly, working on your Master's thesis.
Let's keep classical alive!!!! Now this is true music with power!
When I listen to dramatic music, my heart seems to be pounding. Classical music always excites me.
Adagio for strings will always have my heart after watching "Platoon" with my dad as a kid
Not only is this music incredible: your arrangements are also a work of great musical art. Thank You.
Obrigada, Halidon! 💛✨💖🌷
This playlist is also really good for thrillers. Current story is set in a town where the ghost of a murder victim returns for revenge on her killer, leading to betrayal, tragedy, revenge, and everyone being trapped in a web of lies and greed. I've fallen in love with classical music thanks to you, Halidon.
Ooh, this thriller sounds right up our street! May we ask what it's called? Our ears always perk up at the mention of a good book 👀 Also, your words mean the world to us! It's a pleasure and an honour to know that our collections have played a part in making you fall in love with classical music ❤
Halidon, thank you. Whether I am writing new course material, proofreading, marking exams, cooking or just want a bit of introspection you provide the background that helps me focus or just plain enjoy. Most of all, your music counters my procrastination and gets me doing what I should be doing. It seems to work for millions of others too.
I wrote my common app essay listening to this and safe to say, I better get into an Ivy with the amount of passion and soul I poured into it. KINDA IN LOVE WITH THE PLAYLIST.
Man, this compilation is quite possibly one of THE best compilations for classical music on YT! I’m currently working on a painting, which depicts a dramatically luxurious garden, as seen in royal buildings/ castles, and this perfectly captures the vibe of what I’m going for! Thank you for gathering and arranging all these lovely pieces into this video- so many of my favorite classical pieces are featured here!! XD❤
Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkil oii

I started studying History of Drama not long time ago. I had really hard time with concentrating on study because im imaginative and learning new informations (such as names, years, techical terms etc..) is slow for me because I need to make picture in my mind of something before I can learn a name of it. Somehow this tracklist helped me get in the right mood for studying, and made me even cry few times because of the beautiful combination of classical drama and classical music. Thank you.
Chills. LITERAL. CHILLS.
Jake Peralta is that you?

Thank you for your kind words Charles, they mean a lot to us. The Metamorphose String Orchestra is a Belarusian orchestra founded in 2015 by conductor Pavel Lyubomudrov.
There's a Korean expression that says, "취저","취향저격" It means that it suits your preference.
This video is my cup of tea(취저).
The painting is very beautiful.
We couldn't agree more Aurelio, it was love at first sight for us and we just had to use 'The Lament for Icarus' by Herbert James Draper as the thumbnail for our dramatic playlist... Icarus' tragic story perfectly encapsulates the idea of drama.
