    I’ve been waiting for someone to speak about this! I whole heartedly believe that there are so many products if not about 75% of them out there that really do nothing. I have fallen victim to advertising and promotion of products by brands, influencers ect I’m just glad there are ppl like you that speak truthfully about products and ingredients and you don’t gain much from putting this info out. You simply do it because you genuinely care & love beauty products. Thank you Sarah for always staying true to yourself. 💗💗💗

      It really is crazy, but when I look at the average cosmetics package, about 90% on the box is purely marketing written by someone who gets pain A LOT to be good at marketing, communications, and PR. The only thing that matters is the ingredients list. 😀 I'm using the PTR Moisturizer in one more video, then after I record that I'll be able to send it to you. 😘😘😘

    Where is a good place to go to look up ingredients and see if they are harmful?
    Would love a video that breaks that down. Essential oils that are problematic, alcohol that is drying versus some that are not.
    Thanx for sharing your knowledge 👍

    Essential oils should never be referred to, or described as fragrances. They have medicinal properties and are natural. Fragrance oils and Essential oils do both carry a scent, but that is all they have in common. As a Clinical Aromatherapist who makes a natural skincare range, I had to bring this point up.

    Great video Sarah! 👏👍❤ I have 2:
    1. Most eye creams are a rip off. I feel like we're just paying wayyy more for a watered down face cream. One example is Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Anti Wrinkle Moisturizer ($32.00 CAD for 15 mls) and their STEM CELLULAR™ Anti-Wrinkle Eye Treatment ($65.00 CAD for 15 mls). The ingredients are almost identical, yet the eye cream is double the price.
    2. 'CLEAN BEAUTY' (at Sephora). To be frank, I just don't believe them, especially when they say their own skincare line is clean. I went over ingredients on the entire line, and there's a HUGE amount of fragrance in every product ... way too high up in the lists to be less than 1%, even the eye cream. I also found an that contains Retinyl Palmitate, which is guaranteed to NOT be used in clean brands.

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  Před 4 lety +2

      Oh yes, when Sephora first started that Clean Beauty campaign I actually believed that the products had zero fragrance, I ordered something and boom, LOTS of fragrance! I'm going to have to go through all my eye creams to see which companies are doing this "scam" selling the same formula as their moisturizer. I laughed today, in one of my beauty boxes I got "an eye cream that is meant for the whole face" by a kbeauty brand (AHC Skincare, which I am not familiar with.

    • @joannej_Youtube
      @joannej_Youtube Před 4 lety

      @@NOBSBeauty Ahh, sorry you wasted your money. I'm still shocked Sephora did that. I've never seen ANY skincare item with fragrance in the top half of the ingredients list! I meant to add I actually had a deluxe size of their moisturizer and was almost knocked over by the scent! I decided to stop wasting money on expensive eye creams after watching a video on them by Dr. David Lim (Dermatologist). He suggested adding a bland moisturizer to your face cream for around the eyes. I'll also search for some more eye creams that are nearly identical to the moisturizer in the line. Maybe you can do a video if there's enough?

    I gave up allot of looking at the packaging. Word of mouth has been okay. I have had terrible eczema and trying to find the right thing has been impossible. Almost everything on the packaging is marketing. Ignore all of it except the ingredients list. Have you tried anything from SkinFix or First Aid Beauty? I think those two brands have helped my eczema very much. Paula’s Choice also has several hidden gems.

    I recall learning during a philosophy class (waaaay back when haha), that just because a product (and sometimes yes, even theories) has been “doctor, expert, professional” approved doesn’t mean squat. Anyone with a degree can say something is good for you. What is important (as you stated in this video) is for each person to do their own research to form the most comprehensive opinion for _your_ needs - and that advice can be applied to EVERY area of your life. Thank you 💪🏼

    I held off watching this particular video until I knew I'd have some quiet time. This video is exactly why I no longer watch or listen to the big influencers (think about what that word means, tuh!) or fall for the hype. I prefer watching you and a couple of real dermatologists that I trust. The shilling on YT and the marketing machine in the US have gotten so our of hand. As I always say, reading is truly fundamental.

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  Před 4 lety

      I know, it's really out of control and it's not good for people to be conned into giving up their hard earned money for the lastest "it" product (which usually happens to be expensive and sub par). I'd really like to see more genuine CZcamsrs instead of those trying to get free stuff for a review.

Cruelty Free, I find a lot of self rihghteous people go on about going all cruelty free, as they buy their face cream on an app from Sephora, on a phone that was manufactured not so cruelty free,wearing fast fashion non cruelty free clothes. It is so insane.
