  • Today we're doing a thing! National Geographic rated Crypt Lake as one of the World's 20 Most Thrilling Trails, and we're hiking it!
Crypt Lake Trail is one of the premium hikes in Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, Canada. It is accessed by a dedicated ferry service operating from the Waterton Park Townsite.
Waterton Lakes National Park is in southern Alberta, Canada, bordering Montana’s Glacier National Park. It’s known for its chain of lakes, including the large Upper and Middle Waterton lakes, flanked by the Rocky Mountains. The Red Rock Parkway crosses the prairie to the small Red Rock Canyon. Bison graze near the Bison Paddock Loop Road. In Waterton village, a pathway offers close-up views of Cameron Falls.

Somehow the hike has gotten steeper since I did it in my 20s, you never forget it. Spent three Summers working there. Three other hikes that are spectacular Carthew/Alderson, Akimina Ridge and my personal favourite Avion Ridge.

I love seeing the country around there, it’s “right up my street”, although I’m not sure about that tunnel 😂😂😂

Yeah I can't say I enjoyed the cave section either, it's a bit tight

Nice video. What was the date of your hike? We'll be there in mid-September.
