- Here are all the intros for the popular cult sci-fi comedy series, Mystery Science Theater 3000, including the intro theme from "Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie". There are two versions of the Season 11 intro: the one from "Reptilicus" (the premiere episode) and the reenactment version which is featured throughout the rest of the season (this one is from "Avalanche").
BTW, I do not own MST3K--in fact, it's Joel Hodgson who owns MST3K. - Komedie
It took me too long to realize why Crow says "I'm different!" but I cracked up when I finally did
Evonne Eng Same thing happened to me, and I didn't know what was different about him until I found out that Bill Corbett took over after Trace Beaulieu left at the end of the seventh season of MST3K
Jasmyn Jay Britton It seems blatantly obvious now lol. Did you see the Netflix press release with Crow and Servo? It's on CZcams. I think it was ad-libbed. Hampton who voices Crow now sounded a bit like Bill for that interview but he reminds me of Trace in the actual episodes. I can't help but wonder if that was a conscious decision or a coincidence.
Evonne Eng Agreed. TBH, Crow's new voice is like a mixture of both Trace Beaulieu and Bill Corbett. I think it's a coincidence. 😆

I do like the plothole of Jonah having to re-enact his capture every single time due to Kingachrome being unable to record footage.
And if he doesn’t, he gets pricked with a cattle prod.

I kind of wished there was a season where Joel showed up to rescue the others and gets stuck temporarily by Pearl, but at the end, he ends up taking Mike and the bots with him to Earth. Would have been epic to see both Joel and Mike riff movies together.
I wish that happened, too.

The intro itself, maybe. The bots however, look really... grungy, though. Especially Gypsy.
Charm was their main appeal back in the day. They didn’t quite develop their unique brand of hilarity for a while.

I like how the lighting and cinematography started poorly, but then got progressively better in the classic introes. Not sure if their budget got better or they improved their artistic-talent, but it's a step up "almost" every time.

That's kinda the netflix section of the intro with the doors, they show the various utilities the sattelite has to keep the occupant alive.

Fun fact: during the Season 7 opening, the clip at 7:18 isn’t ACTUALLY from Season 7 - instead, it’s taken from the Season 6 finale during Dr. Forrester’s song "Who Will I Kill". The clip in question is the part in the lyrics where Dr. F says "Here’s my money, you can bank it."
He even did displayed them very early on mid-season 5 when nearly at the end of the Joel era, in the episode Mitchell when Joel escaped but did use Mike as a replacement for Joel.
7:55 - I hope I'm not the only one who realized that Pearl owns the same kind of spacecraft as Lone Starr and Barf.

I was watching a episode of the new mst3k and I saw pearl had two ash vases on pillars with dr foresters and tv’s frank face on them broke my heart😢
I love Netflix's Mst3k reboot because the music is great the moves are even cheesier

Both Joel & Mike are really good, but honestly, I think Mike was my favorite. He put so much emotion into the theme song and his character. Plus, his episodes are some of my favorites. 4:33 is my favorite of his openings though.
Joel is so funny and truly amazing- he created this completely original show that’s been consistently garnering new audiences for decades. With that said, Mike is my favorite…
To be fair, and I know this post is WAY old, just want to interject:
Mike was a writer for the entire run of the series (Prior to Netflix). He became Head Writer in 1991 I believe. So even when Joel was on the show, much of the riffing came from Mike.
I like Joel's deadpan performance. But I also like how Mike totally throws himself into whichever part he is playing.

My favorites out of all of them are the ones from the Mike Era.

Agreed. If I had to pick, Mike is my favorite. But some of my favorite episodes (such as The Day the Earth Froze, Mitchell, Catalina Caper) are Joel episodes.

Probably my two favorite intros are Season 5 and Season 10, but I admit that I have a fondness for the Jonah Netflix intro. It's just too bad Netflix screwed them over and didn't let them continue using it. the current one is...

The current one feels like a fan production trying to do a copyright safe version of the theme.
Kinda sad given it's the official MST3K, but not really their fault, like you said- it's Netflix that's the issue.

Michael Carter I never saw the movie or heard the opening before but it's really bad imo. Why did they make it country?? It doesn't fit ghf show at all. I don't even know if I want to see the movie. I never hear anything good about it.
Evonne Eng how is it country? It's a comedy series from Minnesota where they make fun of terrible movies. And it was made in the 90's. It was really popular on TV and had many awards
Michael Carter I'm strictly referring to the movie. I love the series and am well familiar with it. The opening to the movie (the last one in this video) sounds country to me, it seems out of place. From what I've heard/seen of the movie (that was in theaters) it doesn't seem that good. Even the cast didn't seem to have a positive experience with it, from what I heard.

No, it's not from Brain That Wouldn't Die. I remember the footage from 5:42 - 5:48 (the kinetic ball hat, Frank playing hopscotch, Mike and the bots working on the floor, and all of them with the crazy hats) are from that episode. Oh well, thanks anyway.

I discovered 24/7 MST3K station on sling in late 2022 and I watch it all day and leave it on all night as I sleep for some reason. I’m watching it now as a matter of fact. The new version of this show looks very very lame except the chick scientist looks hot. I don’t care for that gay troll Patton Oswalt who killed his wife and got married again right away lol. But anyway I prefer the Mike Nelson/pearl forrester intro song. Her singing really sounds good. I like the Mike Nelson years better after watching these shows 24/7 but back then I didn’t at all. Someone mentioned Joel’s face calling robot roll call in one of the 2nd intro. I like how he does that too!!!! lol. Btw I love beez!!!! I’m in love with beez
