my strat for surviving the first nights without a bed is starting mining under the ground since you can wait for morning while getting better materials.
To get lots of wool without killing the sheep you can make shears out of two iron ingots.
Cows and sheep eat wheat and you can make a hoe to create soil next to water to grow it. if you break grass you get seeds and they will grow into wheat with time. then you can lure sheep towards your house and you can make a very simple farm out of fences and a fence gate.
i think Jiji would be a cute name because of Kiki’s delivery service and this is a witchy play through :)

Since you mentioned you're new to minecraft and want to learn, heres a couple random tips...
- Pressing and holding down the the ` key (the one under esc) will allow you to Vein Mine, this means you can break up to 64 similar blocks in one go. This makes chopping down trees SUPER quick and so much easier. (or when you build someone one block off and have to tear it all down - haha)
- Early game Animal Farms would just be creating a pen for them to get them trapped, breeding them up, and then murdering them off when you get a good amount of them. Cows & Sheep like Wheat & Pigs like Carrots.
- When attacking mobs (or even wandering traders / llamas) its best to not spam attack, you'll notice a little sword in the middle of your screen after you attack, when it charges back up all the way, you'll do more damage.
The way I never knew about the ` key or the sword thing!! Thank you it’ll make my crafting life easier 🥰😭

Litteraly 3 minutes in and in love with all of the packs, I usually turn on these kinds of vids for the background for my writing but I'm actually excited to see what happens in the vid, I'll post a second comment when I've finished the video. Also, I think it would be adorable if your followers were called loot bugs, I'm just imagening little ladybugs stealing trinkets and other loot

Loot bugs is so cute for a name! I love studio ghibli and howls moving castle so clawcifer is definitely a name I’ll give to my cat. Just gotta find either a smol kitty or find my mount back 😭 im glad you’re enjoying the series so far!!!
