it's not just a voice actor :D motion capture, so she basicly plays the character at the same time as saying the dialogs...for me it's amazing how talented she is :D

This one of those games I love to watch someone play, but i wouldn’t enjoy playing it myself.
Yeah I would prob prefer watching someone else play this & not waste my money on it (unless Gamepass) since it seems to have no replayability and it's very predetermined.

Same. I didn't enjoy the 1st one. It looked good, but man, it was too slow paced for me. That is NOT me saying it was bad or boring. That is me saying it is NOT for me. Maybe this one will be though. It's on game pass so of coarse I'll try it out

Looks really good but all I've seen is a string of QTEs. Much simpler to go for higher fidelity when its a linear pathway. Most games these days go for openish worlds settings, i.e. you can't expect Elden Ring to have this texture fidelity. Also half the environments are "obscured" by fog/clouds.
I would rather bring up the artistic direction that greatly aids the visual look they went for, but the textures themselves are also amazing.
This is really nice looking game but so is Demons souls and Alan wake 2
@@Cyampagn there’s a review from IGN out now. It shows other scenes from the game. It has beautiful vistas, a lot of color and higher visibility than this slice from Jack.
Also, if it’s like the first game there’s a lot of manual combat. The first game had a bit of a problem with downtime and pacing, but if they can remedy this here I am very much excited.
I totally get why Hellblade isnt for everyone, but man the first game I thought was absolutely incredible. Audio, visuals and story were all great and this just looks like another step up again 👌🏻

Luke Stephen's is one of the worst reviewers on this platform, he plays both sides, doesn't do enough research or play the game enough, constantly makes errors in his reviews. I dont understand why I keep seeing people reccomend his videos as I thought it was pretty universally agreed he sucks.
I actually REALLY like the voice acting work during combat, the way she growls and screams in the fight really puts weight behind the attacks, it SOUNDS like she's putting her all into it which I like because usually the playable character kind of suffers from main character syndrome and feels like you're the limiting factor rather than feeling like they're trying just as hard as you are lol.
Exactly! The designers actually said that they want the player to feel that senua isn't a super hero and wanted the player to feel that she's barely surviving

They really are pushing to make games fully interactive movies aren't they, and the transition between cut scenes and gameplay is pretty seamless.
The water/waves looked a bit janky though... Not sure why because everything else is mind-blowing.
For my taste, it's too cinematic, too many cut scenes and a predetermined route through the gameplay (based on this evidence) but it looks amazing.
Yeah, it's barely a game at this point and all it has going for it are graphics, which aren't that amazing either if you look at the stiff animations and especially the hilariously bad water for example. I guess if someone is easily impressed by superficial things like graphics and buys games purely based on visuals then that's cool, but personally I'm getting real tired of these types of interactive movies. Might as well watch it on CZcams and basically miss nothing.

The flame part was a bit weird for me but might just be my TV tbf I'm still rocking 2013 ish TV and my Xbox one s. So I sometimes can't tell if I'm just not getting the highest quality visually or what
The graphics are whatever the gameplay and cutscenes just blend together it feels like a evolution to me never seen anything like it
The first one was the best experience I've had playing a game with headphones. This one seems and sounds like as great, if not a step up from the first.

I hope Melina Juergens wins an award for her performance here, she was phenomenal. I loved the first Hellblade and I found HB2 quite enjoyable.

To summarize, it is the most beautiful game of this generation across all platforms, with an unparalleled visual and auditory immersion, brutal combat, and epic scenes. Personally, it’s everything I was hoping for. Regarding the lack of exploration and linearity, it seems logical; I don't see how one could expect both in this type of game. The day we can play an open-world or semi-open-world game with this level of quality might come with the next generation, but that's not what I was expecting from Hellblade 2 anyway.

People think once you get a game with this quality graphics, game at the same lavel will follow magicly.
Best graphics ever by far, but your movement in the scenario is very limited and no part of the scenario interacts with you (flowers, plants...).
To get this quality in a normal gameplay game we'll wait to next gen.

Apart from that wave section everything looks flawless. Water/waves is so hard to get right. When i played the first Hellblade, i was absolutely blown away. Really cool experience and so unique.
In my mind black flag still has the best waves / sea lol

I remember the original had terrific sound design as one of it's stand out features and I can tell this one follows along. I highly recommend watching the video with 3D headphones to get some of that experience!
That was really neat. Good job on showing us! I liked the part where she had to run to the rings to hang on to them to keep the tidewater from pushing her out.

Well it's because UE < 5.4 have poor threat optimizication. So theoreticaly if they make update to 5.4 we could have automatic 25% better performance.
It's because he's doing native 4K without DLSS. I have everything maxed out on a 4080 super with DLSS on and get 90 fps.

These graphics look like true next generation graphics. It feels like I am watching a pre-rendered cinematic that is of high CGI movie quality and I have to convince myself repeatedly that this is all rendered in real-time because my mind finds it hard to even comprehend that video game graphics can truly be this good. I truly miss the days when newer games made me feel this way

Sadly I have to watch this at 360p because of my current Internet speeds. The animations at the beginning looked good. Seen some animations repeated but it was a cool fight scene none the less. How long do you think this game will take before it comes out to PlayStation 5?

Went into hellblade 2 without playing the first one. Wasn't expecting much but let me tell you, I was blown away.

for much of this is was difficult to tell what was a cutscene and what was you playing, this is what we all dreamed of when we went to the arcade to play games like dragons lair. so cool!
is your difficulty on easy? i didnt experience enemies standing still with their backs turned for too long when i played
graphics look insane but without a hud its a little hard to tell whats cinematics and whats actuall gameplay. wish you would have kept it on.
That's how the game is by default, there is no hud.
Not really it’s very easy to tell when a camera is fixed behind which means it’s a player controlled scene

Yeah, the water looks hilariously bad for a game that tries to push graphics so hard. I also find the animations in general rather stiff and jarring if you compare them to the game's overall visuals. Like at around 1:25 directly in the beginning, where the enemy attacks and suddenly snaps into the blocking animation before he gets turned around, patiently waiting to get executed. Or when she hands the guy the axe at 2:50, when it briefly jitters into place. Don't know, but it feels off and kind of jarring honestly.

This is the future of gaming. The audio, the visuals: incredible. It's nice to finally see something of value developed using Unreal Engine 5.
That being said the one thing I'm gonna nit-pick at, and I'm not the only one, is the water visuals. The water looks really bad in this game. I wonder if they had to sacrifice that to build other features. That one scene starting at 18:20 where she sprints from rock to rock with the waves crashing down is what I'm talking about.
Anyone else find her groans and screams are a bit to much ? It sounds like if she’s screaming and grunting way too loud every time she swings. I get it, it’s hand to hand combat, but maybe if the volume was toned down a bit it would be less jarring

@@lockekappa500 doesn't look like it interacts a lot with the rocks. It looks to me like it just goes through the rock, then partially disappears into the ground. But it's hard to tell how much water physics they implemented

Downloaded tonight. It’s absolutely incredible. The story and atmosphere is impeccable so far as well. Why has not everything moved to UE5 and Nanite? Seriously bugs me because this is exactly what people are looking for in visuals 🤷🏻♂️ Give the next major COD shift in UE5 and nanite and you have gold.
