- We got absolutely mobbed while charging at Mesa, AZ! It was a lot of fun talking with other Tesla fans and answering their questions about the Cybertruck!
For those of you that have been following us from the beginning, you will know that we have been blurring out our children's faces. You might have noticed that their faces were not blurred in this video. We still do not want the focus of this channel to be on our kids, but we are finding it impractical to try to blur them out and not use their names. It adds a lot of time to our editing and its just not sustainable. Please be respectful of our children, we will aggressively be deleting any negative comments about them. Feel free to hate on us, but not our kids!

Absolutely correct nobody gets 4000 subscribers in one week lol that’s amazing. You will learn as you go and honestly the contents is pretty good especially for only a week of making.
as an editor, i disagree with this statement. i highly recommend you get a $99 gimbal for your cellphone so all these interactions are smooth like gravy. you dont have to do crazy editing, but something more watchable is important. this looks like my mom shot it. im not trying to sound critical. i think what you are doing is awesome. (i do disagree with the blurring of the kids). that takes too much time and if you are so concerned, then dont have them involved. blurring their face is just a distraction and makes me think you are voting for biden
@@TheStrangeKage I didn’t say anything about equipment. I specifically spoke to editing. They are a young couple, with two young kids on a family vacation to see family. People telling them they need to spend more time editing, need to get a bit of a grip. Their content is timely and relevant during this early phase of Cybertruck.

Every Tesla I’ve owned were within the first year of production and in places where Tesla had little to no presence other mine. So it was literally like this with many strangers more often than not at parking lots and charging stations. Once there’s enough of them on the roads, you’ll just get a random non EV owner once in awhile asking “how do you like it?”
It’s fantastic, naturally enthusiastic, friendly people videos like this that are proof Tesla are 100% right to never need to spend billions on advertising with vehicles so compelling like the Cybertruck.

I was the first person to take delivery of a Model Y in South Carolina, and remember chats at the chargers in the beginning when there were no others on the road. Now it's one in a million😂. Already configured my Foundation Series CT, and hoping to take delivery in first quarter some time.

@@OurCyberLife Yeah, I'm psyched. I did have a couple questions: It looks like the Foundation Series laser cut badging shows up through the wrap. That's cool. Is it just that particular wrap, or do you think it will show through on most wraps? Also, what is your thoughts on when FSD will be activated on the CT?
They used a plotter to cut out replica badging to place on top. As for FSD, no clue! Hopefully soon!
I have an idea. Make up a QR code that you can stick on the side windows that people can scan with their phones to take them to your CZcams channel.
Brand ambassador(s), this helped Tesla grow in the past. looks like people are excited about the fact it's NOT limited to -stainless- steel. Great choice on the color of the wrap!

Looks like you really enjoyed showing off your Cybertruck. Great to see. Gave you something to do while charging. I looked at that video also. That was also great showing a technical aspect. As I have said before, can't wait untill it arrives Downunder, as 4 out of 5 of the best selling vehicles in Australia are trucks or Utes as we call them. The other vehicle in the top 5 is the Model Y. Hopefully see it here within 5 years. Thanks for the video.

You are currently in an unusual space right now with your Cybertruck videos. You are one of the few people right now doing a running monolog or Blog with your Cybertruck. With Cybertruck just being released there is a tremendous amount on interest in the Cybertruck. So keep posting videos. Tesla has kept Cybertruck info tight to the vest till just recently. You are satisfying that itch that people have for more information on the Cybertruck.Keep it up.

I'm about 360k in the reservation list for a Trimotor + FSD. Thanks for being an early adopter. It must be a bummer for you that FSD won't be available for a while for the new HW4 in the CT.

Thought I finally subscribe as I’m enjoying your videos. It’s giving a “real world” view of a Cybertruck. I’m looking forward to Tesla releasing it here in Australia as I’m hoping to get one myself. I’ll be dubbing it the Cyber Ute.. lol😂 Might follow your lead and start a channel with an Aussie perspective.
What’s impressed me is all the praises of how it handles on the road. To me that’s one aspect of buying a car I find important, and I reckon the steer-by-wire system will one day become standard. Firstly in Tesla models, then every other manufacturer.

now when I tell some people that we've had our reservation down for the CyperTruck(like from 4years ago) and really want it asap, we get quite a few negative responses(like still that 'they will never build them', 'they are dangerous', or just 'EVs are all junk' etc. pretty silly comments really) so I was wondering if you ever get any "hate" now that you have one?
we do already have an EV(just a Nissan Leaf, that we got very early years ago, and still love even with it's limitations) and that eCar doesn't seem to bother anyone, because it is kinda lame and not threatening at all, I guess ...but the CyperTruck might really challenge people's beliefs on what an EV can be? or something? I'm sure you get a lot of admiration especially around other Tesla owners and fans, and many might not even know what it is; but just that some people seem 'worried' that EVs might change the world, oddly, so I'm assuming that not all the attention you would get might not be good?
So far almost all of our in person interactions have been positive. I've only had one experience so far where I was picking up some KFC from a drive thru and the guy was very much not a Elon fan, but even that conversation was amicable. Overall, I've been surprised at how positive people have been!
Now on the other hand, online is a whole different story 😂 I would still say 90% or so is positive, but I've been called fat, abusive, bald, and a slew of other things online 🤣 gotta love the internet!
Drag (air resistance) is non linear. The faster (velocity) you go drag increases much, much more.
The drag coefficient Cd is equal to the drag D divided by the quantity: density r times half the velocity V squared times the reference area A.
Cd = D / (A * .5 * r * V^2).
With the speed limits in Texas and AZ being so high you will definitely get a mileage penalty.
This applies to anything moving through a fluid (such as air). This is why aerodynamics are so important for vehicles that can travel faster than 60 mph.
Thanks for the vids! Recommend investing in some sort of stabilization device(gimbal) for your camera. Pretty difficult to watch without one.

The content is great. I would suggest a few upgrades to your capture process. Use wireless lapel microphones for when you and your wife are talking. Add a gimble to help with image stabilization. If you have an iPhone turn on action mode, or purchase a camera with good image stabilization. You could of course do image stabilization in post but I think it makes better sense to do it during capture to save time and processing. Anyway, keep up the great work.

Great video! I would just say get a nice gimbal for this filming. No editing is needed really but a gimbal would help. Later you can edit a 'featured interactions' video but you want good stable footage.

Your guess is as good as mine! The only thing I can think of is to show the silhouette of the cybertruck in the window 🤣 but dunno
I have a guess. I think they do that to ensure the window has more support when you slam the door shut. In a car with a normal curved silhouette, more of the top edge of the window is still in contact with the edge of the door frame when it is rolled all the way down. Because the Cybertruck window comes to that small point, it doesn't have that same support if it stays all the way down when closing the door.

You will still get the email to configure when it's your turn, since the original choice you made at reservation doesn't matter. However, if you choose to order the RWD you will be waiting a while.

Can you shut off the Air Flow on the front passenger vent while simultaneously maintaining AC/airflow on the Driver’s side?
Can you guys talk about the charging speed curve etc? I have a 2022 plaid that charges pretty quickly is the speed comparable? I've seen a few post saying the 4680's charge alot slower. What's your experience been like?
They have a video already that shows the charging prices. They are new owners and don't have experience with Supercharging other Teslas to be able to compare. However, right now the Cybertruck charges at a slower rate compared to the other Teslas. Hopefully that is due to Tesla still learning about the new battery cells before unlocking a higher charge rate with a software update.

One of his first videos he said he is a software engineer at the Austin factory, working with the production robots.
Internal software, I used to do controls, which works directly with the robots, but now I'm doing web dev for internal tooling

@@OurCyberLife I'm admiring you guys. Watched a couple of Joe Justice's videos who talks a lot how great and unique the Tesla internal software is.
The faster you go in any vehicle the less range you’ll have. My Chevy 2500 HD gets 20+ mpg on the highway, punch it all the time it’s ten. Where EVs excel is they get better range in town or traffic. That’s not the case for ICE.

Range is not 340 miles with 35in tires its 318
Watched every single CT footage. After doing all math and looking at various screens. I guess fully charged CT at 70mph will do around 270 miles. So on road trips required 40 minutes charging stops every 2 hours of driving 150 miles I between chargers. Keep in mind on a road trip you only have 70% usable battery.
@@8bajwa8 you have 100% but keep it betweeb 20-80% battery for battery health…once in a while road trips using 100% wont hurt it
@@TravisONiPhone I guess I didn't explain well. On a road trip once you deplete initial 100 % charge that you left with from over night charging. Next stop would be at least at 10% state of charge (SOC). you would be charging all they way to 80% that would take at least 40 minutes to gain 10 to 80.if you charge further 80 to 100 will take another 40 minutes or so. It is not worth charging post 80%. So next leg you only got 70%. Owned 5 EVs in last 6 years. Still got 2 ev as daily driver but replaced my rivian with gmc sierra for road trips. Ev road trip not worth all the hassle and cost same if not more.

I am a Tesla employee, yes. I'm not sure if regular customers have or not. DennisCW recently took delivery, don't know if he is an employee or not

In a way, I feel that both you and me are a sort of Tesla "leeches" - you're hoping that your CT might get paid off by your recording related stuff on youtube, and I'm hoping that my Tesla invested retirement money will multiply one day to justify buying the CT when it becomes available here in Czechia (Central Europe).
But I don't know of any leeches which help by popularising and defending Tesla products, so we don't need to be too negative about it. 🤣

Is the range rating 340 with your tires? I thought these early releases had mud and snow tires with AT tires to come later?
Tesla's mileage ratings change on the configurator based on what wheels and tires you select. The 340 Mike rating will be based on the wheels and tires that the Cybertruck sells with, and right now there's only one option. The tires it comes with are special hybrid tires that are designed to be quiet, efficient, and have good traction in multiple types of terrain.
AS tires were not available in 2023. I

We do have a gimbal! I didn't have it out for this recording though. I know the footage is pretty subpar 🤣 still trying to figure out the whole having natural conversations while recording 😁
