We are thrilled to bring you an inspiring and emotional conversation with Steelers great Troy Polamalu. For over 75 minutes, Patrick Peterson, Bryant McFadden and Polamalu reminisce on their fondest football memories. First, BMac shares a letter that Troy wrote to him 12 years ago and describes how impactful it remains to him to this day. The bond and brotherhood is wholly apparent during this segment. The guys then discuss another emotion from the do-it-all safety: anger. The 2010 Defensive Player of the Year recalls when he lost his temper vs. the Chargers and Keenan McCardell. Next, our esteemed guest breaks down what it meant to hear praise from Pittsburgh legends and when he felt like he belonged as a real member of the organization. And don't let the appearance fool you, Troy was a prankster too and BMac tells an epic story of a preseason game in 2006. The trio goes on to chat about Troy's on-field fashion and his incredible football IQ before swapping stories about a DB coach they all shared, Ray Horton. Troy addresses a viral story from Pat McAfee as well as the end of his career with the Steelers and if he was tempted to join the Tennessee Titans. Finally, Superlatives and more flower-giving to finish the show.

ABOUT THE SHOW: Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden have made a living for their coverage skills on the football field, and while it's a different technique, they're now applying those traits on their new podcast 'All Things Covered'. Instead of wide receivers, tight ends and running backs, they'll be covering sports, entertainment, social issues, personal interests and more. Every week, the 8-time Pro Bowler Peterson and 2-time Super Bowl champion McFadden will discuss what's happening on the gridiron as well as what intrigues them off the field. Each week they'll welcome a star from the sports and entertainment world to have wide-ranging conversations about what interests them. Guests can include active or former football players but also athletes and influencers from other sports and walks of life. Football is how we know our hosts, but far from what defines Pat and BMac. The name says everything; expect all things to be covered! - Sport
What is your favorite Troy Polamalu moment with the Steelers?
It's literally impossible to narrow down one favorite moment, every time I saw Troy on the field it was a great moment!
AFC championship walk off pick 6 against Baltimore. It just has to be for anyone who has ever seen his entire career. Took us to super bowl 43
The day he was drafted! Nothing else happens, if that doesn't happen. Troy is the greatest safety of all time!
The C gap against Pat McAffee😂
You're all still Steelers. It was this video that now been my favorite moment. I loved watching Troy play and I missed seeing him play.
When you hear the guys underneath the helmet to hear what they have to say about their experiences, their life, their outlooks, their relationships, etc. is what I have come to really appreciate hearing from them.
Yes, each of these guys were/are football players and each had their own highlights on the field, but there is so much more just from that brotherhood of the field and how other aspects of everything in their life impacts everything. Awesome to hear the three of you to have this conversation, these shared memories, and seeing and hearing the appreciation of what has occurred in your lives.
That letter from Troy to BMac. I am tearing up. That's a beautiful friendship right there.
I got something in my eye myself ..
You're not alone!
Weird, lol!
That was raw and one the best episodes because of that emotion and respect
Very touching
Troy is my all time favorite Steeler! He spoke softly and carried a huge stick!
These are the Steelers I grew up watching. Some people will say it's just a game but these people have given me so many great memories that I shared with my family and will look back on forever. Seeing the relationships these guys have off the field just reaffirms why I love this organization and will forever be a fan! Here we go Steelers!!!
Here We Go!
Troy P is the BEST safety to EVER do it!
Who else is in the conversation?
@@AllThingsCoveredReed, Lott, Dawkins are all behind Troy but cases could be made for them by their fans. Troy will always be 1 though.
Shoutout to BMac for sharing that letter and even moreso for being so vulnerable with his emotions. That’s a real display of strength and masculinity.
Thanks for the comment, Joshua!
I got tears watching this for B Mac to be vulnerable like that in front of all us is amazing and for Troy to write that letter says so much about him as a person we need more people like Troy in this world he’s definitely a light in a dark world
Gives us hope!
@@AllThingsCovered I agree 1,000%
Amen
Nothing wrong with loving each other
I did also
The heart and soul of those teams man. LOVE seeing troy around. First few minutes of this was deep man.
Here We Go! Such a special moment those guys shared.
Props to Bmac for being brave enough to show vulnerability and embracing emotions. Need more of that in the world.
Such a special moment.
The absolute 🐐 , this show is amazing, shotout to BMac for being a real ass man and being able to be emotional to something or about something someone who you love and loves you on a public platform tells me BMac one of the most solid dudes alive.
Appreciate the support and words John M!

Bmac!
Pat P
Troy 43 Polamalu
Here we go Steelers!!!
Yessir Steelers Nation Australia!
As a retired mailman with with injuries and a disabled veteran and not being able to be with my peers, this was comforting. Thanks Bmac and Troy. PatP, welcome to the family. "HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!"
Wow, very emotional show. Kudos to Mac for sharing his vulnerability and for Troy being Troy. You guys are great role models for young men! Please keep doing what you do.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Paul!
Troy is my favorite athlete for so many reasons. He is a special person who can turn it on and play football with a calculated recklessness that truly embodies the game. On top of the absolutely amazing things he was able to do on the field, he is truly an amazing person. He is a true role model.
Well said!
I totally agree with you, I feel the same way.
5:43 Steelers fans don’t know that stuff like this happens until we hear about it, but we know. The Steelers name is so much more than just a football organization to the fans, so I can’t fathom what kind of family it is to the players. Praying that our team can continue this community of brotherhood and love for Jesus and each other.
Here We Go!
Anyone who has ever met Troy knows he’s a giant of a man. And I’m not referencing his physical stature.
Great way to put it.
Man this is my whole childhood right here. Named my son after Troy. Had me tearing up as well. Y’all are so special and please keep doing what yinz are doing. Much love❤️
Listening to Troy, I’d be willing to go to war with this man. He is a true friend, player, and man! Troy should have been recognized for more of his play then he was.
Thanks for watching Justin!
This is why Troy is the greatest ever. The baddest and scariest man on the field while also being the kindest and showing the best sportsmanship. Love this show!!!!
Crazy how he fits both so well!
I’m not crying, you are 😢
We ALL were crying during that moment.
Troy:Hmmm
I was crying while Bryant was reading the letter because of the Godly perspective he witnessed. All Glory and Praise to God. Amen.
Thanks for watching, Dan!
Troy is such a legend dude 😢 great on field, and off field.. exceptional personality, truly a 1 of 1 player
The best!
@@AllThingsCovered thanks for reply, means alot more than you’d think.. lots of channels dont give the time to respond, I respect that
A Polamalu appearance is very rare so im excited as hell to watch this.
EXCLUSIVE!
@@AllThingsCovered I'd put Bmac up there with the best of the TV personalities. In the next couple years yall will be getting that same deal Mcafee and the boys got. Thanks for the great content. 👍
All three of these men are cut from the same cloth. Humble, intelligent, loving and lifting up their brothers when they need it. God bless all of you. You are loved by the Steelers Nation in so many ways, and looked up to by so many because you are men of integrity!!
God bless!
I'm not crying, you're crying !! 😭😭 Didn't think I could respect TP more than I already did
And somehow we love him more now.
There has never been a more exciting player to watch than TP43. Such a great character in every sense.
Thank you so much for sharing that emotional experience with us BMAC!! WOW!! Amazing!!
We really think it was a special episode!
I don’t have heroes, but Troy is the closest thing I can even think of. The best Football Player ever!
These are the bonds that last forever. Like TROY said. Real Men ish!!! Nothing wrong with it! I applaud BMAC for his honesty and his love for his friend and being able to show the REAL emotion that goes with that. I felt this interview in my core man. Thank you to all of these guys. Baby Jesus......I'm dead! Lol
Thank you for that Alister!

One of the most genuine loving humans, and greatest football players ever ✊🏽 #HereWeGoSteelers 🖤💛
These 3 men are really special special people.... ❤❤❤
Joey Jr! Thank you!
Troy Polamalu #43 will ALWAYS be my favorite steeler 👊🖤💛
Troy has to be one of the kindest most caring people ive ever seen. What a powerful letter to someone that was struggling at the time! Really exemplifies the man Troy is off the field.
Facts!
It's good to see these 'alpha' males showing emotion and love like that.
Yes, need more of it!!
Wow 12 mins in and you guys are pulling on the heart strings. That's why football is one of the best sports on the planet.
Bigger than sports!
Great show guys. We’re lucky the Steelers have such high character guys like yourselves to lean on and lead the way for the next generation.😢
Thanks! Here We Go!
The one I was hoping for!!! Love the raw emotion.
Thanks for the support!
Damn man I'm crying now
sameee
That was emotional, Troy has always been the best, thanks for this insight into Steeler 'behind the scenes'. True Steeler fans are not surprised. Thinking Pat P is going to fit right into our culture (as he was talking about Steeler culture in this clip).
Again I really appreciate this.
#steelernation
We appreciate you, Chuck! Thanks for that!
Thanks for being vulnerable BMac. This is what this walk called life is about. Deeper spiritual relationships. We are here to elevate and love our brother. It’s an honor to be a Steelers fan because of players and men like y’all
Well said, Montrel!
Amen B Mac! What an incredible testimony between three great faith based men. Incredible interview. Here we go Steelers, here we go to the Steelers way!
Here We Go! Thanks for the note, Vincent!
BMac , Ike Taylor, Deshea Townson , Ryan Clark & Troy Polumalu! What A Great Secondary !
They are not given enough respect tbh
Bmac got me over here crying
We got some tissues.
MAN! WHAT AN EP! Troy was and has always been my favorite player. Love the pod you two do. HERE WE GO! Steelers gotta get 43 OFFICIALLY retired soon! 🐐
This is beautiful. Grown men being masculine being vulnerable being mature. This is what the wold needs more of. God bless you Troy and anyone reading this.
Thank you Cory!
That’s awesome men. You really showed me the human side of this game!
Love hearing Troy talk about being validated as an all time Steeler by Mel Blount and Mean Joe. Now HE'S the legend who has that same power on modern Steelers
Imagine what it would be like to hear that from those guys.
I remember Troy coming to Allegheny County Office Building to handle some personal business and him spending time with everyone. A particular young man was a huge Troy fan and had a disability, Troy took so many pictures, signed everything. A true gentlemen and blessing to the city. Thanks for the great memories bro. BMac & Pat P great show. Looking forward to Pat P becoming the next great Steeler. HERE WE GO STEELERS!!
Troy !!! Is my favorite Steelers for LIFE
🐐🐐
I held back from watching this cause Troy always make me emotional! And I was right again!
Hard not to be emotional watching this.
BMac the pain you showed today brought tears to my eyes. The world needs more Troy's. Unfortunately, hes a rarity! Love Troy❤❤❤❤
Definitely need more like him.
Troy’s vision on the field was second to none. His vision off the field was more exceptional. To be mindful and aware to write such a card proves it. Thanks BMac & TP.
My mom passed in 08 from cancer. I was 14 and raised a Steelers fan, these guys helped my mental health so much. They don’t even know
I watched Kevin Greenes HOF fame acceptance speech yesterday and he spoke about the Steelers so different to every other organisation he played for. It's just different in Blitzburgh, The standard is the Standard
It's just different!
B-Mac, I genuinely feel you. Mad you made me tear up like many of your audience. But, it is true. When life tears you away from the things you love, it is the hardest thing to come back from. I was just 14 years old when I was a victim of an assault. I was left paralyzed and have not walked ever since. The assault took much more than my ability to walk. It took away my dreams and aspirations. Everything I loved and everything I looked forward to achieving as an athletic youth. I was looking forward to playing baseball and football in high school and one day playing for the New York Yankees. My favorite teams are the Yankees and the Steelers. I found resolution in watching those 2 teams play and win. Football and baseball is so therapeutic to me. Man, if you only knew how much I love and enjoy watching the games. I appreciate you for sharing that letter, and I appreciate Troy for writing you that letter because it not only benefited you but it also benefited me, and hopefully many other who are watching and listening to your podcast. Thank you for playing football on my favorite team, but more importantly, thank you for sharing a part of your life with us.
Thank you so much for sharing your own journey. That means a lot to us as well.
Troy has such a calming voice that when he speaks you feel a sense of relief and happiness. He truly is the epitome of what a person should strive to be.
Troy is A1 with his words
Damn, that letter got me teared up before BMac got choked up! Much love and respect to all 3 of you men! Inspiring for sure!
Thanks for the support and comment Thomas!
Absolutely amazing podcast. Being a Steelers fan and seeing Bmac and Troy is like my childhood come to life. Can’t wait to see Pat P in black and gold this year!
Thanks for the kind words. Hope you check out more of our upcoming Steelers content!
I was in 8th grade during the 2005 season and I’ll never forget the going nuts watching your stops in the divisional round against the colts in the final possession. I remember someone in my family going that’s a rookie and I couldn’t believe it. You were great man. Going into superbowl week my school played the Pola-Malloo song on repeat lol these were the good old days
Good ole days!
Troy Polamalu was the perfect example of how the Pittsburgh Steelers football should be played!!! We Love you Troy!!!
The truest of leaders. Forever proud to be a fan 🖤💛
Here We Go!
Guys, this is an incredible episode with Troy Polamalu. This is one of my favorite pod casts. Thank you for doing this. You have to get Hines Ward on.
Thank you Charles! We definitely want to get Hines on!
@@AllThingsCoveredLove Hines Ward. This episode is special….Well done gentlemen…
This interview with Troy, Patrick and Bryant makes me remember a Maya Angelou quote that a host on the FM jazz station in Toronto makes everyday as his closing remarks which so much pertains to Troy Polamalu: "people will forget what you said or what you did, but they will never forget how you make them feel."
Thank you for sharing that!
Quality dudes!
Yessir!
Man when you Read that letter from Troy. I broke down, just goes to show you that Troy was kind hearted Human Being. BMAC thanks too You and your Play in the Playoffs and the Superbowl XL. GOD Bless you and Patrick and Troy. Great Show
God bless!
That got real. Quick. Thanks for sharing that. 🤙🏾🤙🏾.
Our pleasure!
This is such a beautiful episode; it encapsulates what Steelers football is, which is far more than just a game. This team brought our city together at a point when it felt like it was falling apart (as all three of our teams have, in their own time). The Steelers are special to us and men like Troy keep that spirit alive. These athletes give us hope because they bring their uniqueness to, and share their lives with, our city and our people. In doing so, they have made themselves world-wide representatives of Pittsburgh. You all know who they are: the adopted Yinzers. On the field, Troy was a JOY to watch; off the field, a JOY to listen to. He was my Mom's second favorite Steeler (preceeded only by Franco, fittingly so) and I have both of her Polamalu jerseys. I'm telling you that there is a special energy...and pride...when I wear either one of them, and it has made my appreciation for the man grow, even to this day. Thank you, Troy! Pittsburgh is fortunate to have had you be one of us! We are forever greatfull to you for your time, efforts, and love while wearing our beloved Black and Gold.
🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛
#TroyPolamalu #YinzerForever
This era of the Steelers is what made me fall in love with the game. Troy is my all time favorite player.
I've loved the Steelers my entire life but this podcast takes the love to another level. Keep up the great work delivering amazing stories with emotion and personality like no others.
Gweek! That means a lot!
Unsheathe the Sword! There is a special message sealed in this All Things Covered conversation. Let those who have ears hear and your life will be turned right side up! Thank you BMAC, Pat and Troy!
Man…that letter was so freakin cool. Troy is such a good man. Got me all teared up man.
All of you are good men and I freakin love this show!
God bless my dudes! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

Troy is just a good role model above all else
Precisely
Troy, what a great human being!
The best
That’s why he’s the greatest safety of all time 🙌 still have my Reebok jersey #43
Never get rid of that jersey!
I heard B Mac talk about this letter before, and I was crying, then… I’m so happy I found this channel on CZcams… Even though I’m crying listening to B Mac talk about his gratitude to Troy for writing the letter. This is the thing I always love most about Troy… He’s never ending faith in our Savior. Jesus Christ.. I am wishing these three gentlemen and everyone the love of Jesus Christ.. peace.
One of the best players to have ever to put on a Steelers Jersey and such a great human being off the field!!! Thanks U Troy for representing Pittsburgh Football 🏈 💯☝️
Here We Go!
Didn't see this coming from excitement that Troy was on the show to getting emotional about the letter. AWESOME JOB
Thank you Luis!
Unlike many Steelers fans, I own very few Steelers jerseys and will only buy a jersey of legendary defensive players. Troy's jersey is on of those.
No brainer to buy #43!
What a man of God!
you are a steeler forever troy
FOREVER
Wow. This is a special episode. Need more of this love in the world.
Exactly right.
The last yeariv started watching the NFL
And in the last week have almost watched every Troy Polamalu available
What a man
My fav Steeler. Troy Polamalu.
Seems like B-Mac came up big in a PO game vs Colts as a rookie !!! Just to name a couple. In the end zone, HUGE plays tbh
Good memory
Really big pass break up and came at a critical time. BMac could ball.
I remember the first time I saw Troy Polamalu played; I was truly amazed with the amount of effort, passion and fun he exuded on the field; I immediately fell in love with his game and used to look for him every year until I stopped seeing him. It's so nice to know that he's also such an equally nice human being off the field.
Great memories
❤😢🙏🏼 that was beautiful thank you for Sharing your letter and thoughts ❤️ I love you All ❤life is rough ❤Ty ♥️
This episode was soooo dope!!! Troy is my favorite Steeler of all time and I definitely feel blessed to have been old enough to appreciate really how good he was his whole career. I was lucky enough to meet him one time. I was a manager of a clothing store down at The Waterfront and Troy came in once with his wife and kids. He was the nicest person, just like you would expect from how he has always carried himself. I got to meet multiple Steelers cuz our store used to supply some of the clothes for the Steelers fashion show each year back in the day. And I'll be honest, some of the players were not very nice. I'm not gonna name any names, but a couple just treated us like they were so much better than us and they couldn't be bothered to even say hi. And I was the manager so it wasn't like I was bothering them, I had to speak with them to make sure the sizes were correct and their clothing choices were what they wanted. But specifically Troy, Ike Taylor and some may not remember but running back Verron Haynes were the coolest, nicest and most down to earth people when they didnt have to be. I know things with Troy and the Steelers were a little rocky after his career initially ended but I'm glad they seem to have patched things up. Troy needs to be part of the Steelers family forever and I'm glad that he is. Such a dope human. ✌️❤️ to Steelers Nation!!!
Respect.
Thanks for watching Rob!
💣💥 " Unbelievable podcast. I hope Pat P helps the current Steelers become a family just like B-Mac and Troy...‼️" 🔥💯
THAT"S THE PLAN!
Love what they said about making sure we say nice things about the people we care about while they're still here and healthy instead of waiting until something bad happens. As a life long Steelers Fan who has been watching the Steelers since 1972, I really enjoy these stories but observing the love and respect these guys have for each other makes me so proud and happy to be part of Steelers Nation as a fan.
Dude I just started crying and thats not like me. Im soul felt this on such a level I cant explain. I grew up watching Tp, and Bryant Mcfadden but to get to see the actually person behind the jerseys is something ill hold close forever. Thank you Mr.Mcfadden for sharing this story ❤
