people! never pick up someone with dwarfism without their permission! ESPECIALLY if they're a stranger! they are people too, and it's disgustingly common for people to try and pick up and carry them without permission. imagine someone larger than you, maybe 9 feet tall, decided to come along and pick you up. you'd be terrified and confused, wondering if maybe someone's trying to kidnap you or hurt you. then the person puts you down, you ask why they did it, and they respond "well, you're just so small!" doesn't that seem ignorant? remember to be respectful to everyone no matter if they're different!
I'm forever and always the "ask them if they need help" type. One thing I learned working in 30 years in the medical field is that differently able people can and prefer to do it themselves, but if they look like they're struggling, ASK FIRST. And if they ask, never turn them down.
@@SpecialEdge I personally am fine with “disabled” but still, using different words doesn’t hurt anyone, so if op prefers to use differently able, then let them do that. I don’t understand which reason you have to “correct” words that some people perceive as more “inclusive” or “nicer” since it’s a literal net positive.
Maybe even better, "Can I help with that?" I worked in a hardware store, where the wisdom was that "manly men" might happily accept an offer of help, but would balk at the suggestion that they "needed" help.
About 9 times out of 10, they are very happy for the help. I always ask if i can grab stuff down off high shelves or from really low shelving(those carts are hard to reach down from, too) occasionally tho since im only 5'5" i have to enlist thevhelp of my giantvhubby for them. Lol. Hes so used to it. He is 6'2" and our son is 6'5" 😮 Only once has someone been absolutely nasty to me when i asked if i could help. All the other ladies shopping round us told me not to worry she was just that nasty to everyone.😢
@@Emeraldwitch30 That is just messed up! I would never be rude to someone with genuinely good intentions of helping me. I will often politely tell them that I got it, but thank them for offering. However, I have experienced where some "Good Samaritans" turn nasty on ME when I do that! 😂 🤦♀️
We have this issue with my friends with visual impairments. We've had people come up behind a person using a cane and grab them by the shoulders and push them in the direction they thought they wanted to go. Another former student who teaches other blind people ways to do things in a rehab situation had his cane grabbed and someone pointed him in a direction they thought he needed to go. I had a friend in a wheelchair who had people come push his chair without asking. The bottom line is ASK a person if they need help and wait for the answer to how that can be done.
Dope that this shines a light on one specific group, but "ask if they're in need of assistance" doesn't have to come from a degree or "years of experience," if someone isn't in peril and they seem to be struggling, just offer assistance. 🤷♀️
It’s not I think , I think they just re-did it because before in the just watch Pete was in the street and In this vid he was pulling up into a parking or som
This is just the polite response to anyone, not just little people. I come from a home with lots of tall but physically disabled people. Most of whom look totally fine. But they struggle with the little things like reaching up above their heads or walking long distances. Luckily we live where people have big hearts and have been raised properly and oftentimes they get asked, "hello! Sorry if I'm bothering you! But could I help you somehow?" I always love hearing from them how someone came and stopped in the parking lot to give them a hand with groceries or to help close the trunk or something else. It makes me happy. ❤❤❤❤
This applies for almost anything medical condition/disability wise as well! People with medical conditions/disabilities/accommodations know what they can do and when they need help!
Somewhat related but also off topic, but this reminded me of something. one of my neighbours is in a wheelchair (actually several of them are, but this was one in particular) and one day we ended up on the elevator together. I was taking trash out, she was getting something from her car. When we got off the elevator, I saw her carefully roll down the ramp into the garage. I offered to help, but laughed and she said it was fine. On the way back to the elevator, I waited for her to meet me at the ramp again (this ramp is so ridiculously steep, I've almost tripped going down it, it seriously makes me nervous) and I offered to push her up the ramp again. Again, she laughed and declined, stating she wanted to try it herself before asking for help, so I said "ok, I'm going to stand behind you, just in case you lose your grip on the railing and roll backwards" I've met so many people online and irl who don't stop to help people because they think they're going to be told "no". Being told "no" in response to offering help in one way is not a bad thing. Often people refuse help because they're so used to being independent, they get surprised, confused or embarrassed. That doesn't mean you should forcefully "help" them, or get angry with them. Sometimes saying "I'm going the same way as you, so I'll walk with you in case you need anything" is enough to help someone. Idk what I'm trying to accomplish with this ramble, but I hope it makes sense.
The sensors under the bumpers these days to open/close the boot are a revolution for situations like this. I had never thought about them in that way, until seeing this video!
Aww peet you are so grateful just to help your mom out on certain things you're the greatest son ever to your mother love your guyses videos they are so cute so adorable big huge fan of yours have been for quite some time

Correctly
I always ask first. If a person asks, then I help them.
Don’t call them “differently abled”, disabled isn’t a bad word.

Also true for people with disabilities, (wheelchair users, etc)

“See what happens” had me in stitches 😂

Not me being the "just sotting and seeing whatever happens next" 😂
I think im the last one BUT THE THROW LADDER WAS SO FUNNY
As a grocery worker, the most common questions I get asked by customers are "where is this?" and "Can you reach something for me?"
Her reactions makes me wonder if he told her what he was gona do each time 😂 she seems legit flabbergasted lol
Ask the short person if they need help
Hope she gets a car with the sensor at the bumper. Save her shoulders and back!!
Peet has his mother's face exactly. Glad you're feeling better Mom.
The way he was looking in ‘see what happens’ 🤣
I might not be an OG but once I found Peet's channel I watched everything. Multiple times. By the way Peet when's the music video coming out. ❤❤

I'd just ask- honestly its worth the time feeling good about helping them too 😭❤️

I'm 4'9". I snapped at a coworker for rooting for me, and instead of helping me, everyone who heard that altercation laughed at me 😕
Me: thinking which one would I be
Also me: thinking I couldn't help cause I'm also short
I love how you can hear him booking it after the “yeah i got it”
when hes just sitting in the car staring🤣🤣
Aww peet you are so grateful just to help your mom out on certain things you're the greatest son ever to your mother love your guyses videos they are so cute so adorable big huge fan of yours have been for quite some time
I kinda laughed my ass off when he picked her up im evil 😂😂
I always ask first. Sometimes they say "no thank you, i'm fine".
the short person, the shortie, the goblin, the dwarf, the ant, the dust, the atom... you get it
The make them tall is so funny and the time she is shouting put me down 😂
I love the "see what happens"
😅😂❤😅😂❤😅😂❤
The first one got me laughing 😂
"yeah i got it" so sassy, I just love you guys ❤️
As an introvert who hates to talk to any stranger, I'll just help them without saying anything.
“Which are you?”
I’m the short one
Tbf with the the "ignore them" one, alot of people feel offended if you ask them to help.
The "root for them"😂😂😂😂
The lart one 😂❤ your mom is so cool 😎😂❤
Imagine a normal civilian walking by seeing Pete stare lol
I would ask but-
I could see people just watching and randomly having a ladder 😭😂
"Ur lucky your my kid" after the cheering part lol
Your moms eye make up is always on point
I'm definitely a "want some help" person.
I'm the short person who needs the help😂😂
Is the , “You can do it for me” 🤣
Me being a short person that watches other short people struggle because theres nothing i can do to help 😂
I do neither: I just either never see in the first place or just ask "you need help?" and then say "TOO BAD" and run away if they say yes.
Bro was a menace to society at the start
Just rooting for them as you walk by is crazy
"Just Ask" words that have the potential to solve just about any problem or explain any scenario
Bro nearly smashed her head in the door😂
The "make them tall" one is me picking up Penelope
All great options 😂, cant wait till she gets you back with how to help a string bean
He is so handsome and his mini mom complements him to make him a better catch .
Normally I'd be like number 2 but after watching this Video I'll change myself to be like the Last One, Lesson Learned😊.
I think a better handle on the lead could work wonders. But I'm fairly certain they would have thought of that already, so there has to be a reason.
Nah, ask them. If they say yes, just say OK and walk away🤣🤣🤣
Your face I. Almost every scenario is hilarious
