      There is one thing I left out, I usually put clear tape on the written addresses of the envelope to make sure that if it gets wet it doesn't smear and make it unreadable. Other than that, it is basically EXACTLY how I package!

    I want to say first of all thank you so much for explaining on national shipping that’s one of my biggest worries so I appreciate the info greatly! I also wanted to ask how would you go about shipping internationally for more than one photocard and how would you get tracked shipping and now pay a crazy amount? 😭

    • @TamaMushroom
      @TamaMushroom  Před 2 lety +2

      Depending on where you’re shipping from can differ the amount of postage needed or how heavy the envelope can be before additional postage is needed. If you’re shipping from the US I suggest looking at their international letter mail weight calculation run down. If you’re unsure of how much to put on the envelope for postage you could always have the postal workers at the post office assist you with putting the correct amount of postage on before sending it! I’d say that you could probably fit a few (maybe 3) photocards in a top loader and it be within the weight for a international stamp. I believe that the weight limit is 1 ounce, but double check the USPS website for the specifics on weight and postage.
      As for tracked shipping internationally, that would cost a lot more. For photocards it was around $14 or something last time to get it tracked, which is very expensive. There’s really no way around expensive international shipping if you’re shipping from the US. There are other shipping services but they may be even more expensive (DHL, UPS, etc). The best way to see if you’re paying the cheapest for postage is to go on their websites and see how much it’d cost by filling out the necessary info. I’m not as experienced in shipping packages in general, but I’ve done a few but all within the US.
      I’m sorry I couldn’t be much help. Thank you for your praise! I’m glad this video is helping people even if just a little 💕

    Hi!! Just wanted to clarify that if you were to ship the card internationally, you would only need the $1.20 global stamp, or to be safe, could you add a forever stamp in addition to the global stamp to be sure it covers the cost of the weight? Thank you for the video!

    • @TamaMushroom
      @TamaMushroom  Před 3 lety +4

      International shipping should cover the weight of 1 photocard, including the top loader and the envelope, etc.
      As long as the weight is under 3.5 ounces it'll be fine! If it is over that I believe you need another international stamp to cover the extra weight. You could try doing 1 international stamp and one forever stamp, the worst they can do is send back for insufficient postage.

  • @yanghven8939
    @yanghven8939 Před 3 lety +11

    How do you charge people for shipping if you already have the stamps? As well, as for tracking? Are there certain stamps for that or would you have to go to your post office?

    • @TamaMushroom
      @TamaMushroom  Před 3 lety +4

      Well most of the time it is a flat rate. If you are from the US shipping within the US are 0.55 cents and international shipping is $1.20 so it is pretty easy to send with stamps.
      I don’t really know what your first question is asking, depending on where you are selling you can include it in the price or say the item is X price and shipping Y price.
      For tracking I don’t know as I don’t have experience with that since the postal workers at my local post office are quite rude.
      I mean all stamps are obtainable from the post office. I am sure there are ways to purchase stamps through the USPS store, as well as international stamps. I am pretty sure you can send packages and things with tracked shipping through their website as well.

    • @TamaMushroom
      @TamaMushroom  Před 3 lety +5

      You put your address in the top left of the envelope, which is considered a return address (in case anything goes wrong with shipping it can be sent back to you). In the middle of the envelope, you put the person you are sending to their name and address. As long as you have the correct address there shouldn’t be an issue! Of course have proper postage paid for the envelope/package. You don’t have to have human interaction at all, you can put the envelope in the blue box and it’ll be just fine!

    • @TamaMushroom
      @TamaMushroom  Před 3 lety +4

      You can put it in either. The postal service should pick up mail from your mailbox and definitely will pick up from the blue box.
      I like to put it in the mail box that only the postal service workers have access to, as people with a mailbox that can open freely can have the mail stolen prior to being shipped.

    • @TamaMushroom
      @TamaMushroom  Před 3 lety +1

      It is, but you can use regular USA stamps for international mail, you just need to make sure there is enough money among the USA stamps for an international shipment. The international stamp is roughly $1.20 as of right now for 1 ounce.
      I honestly would try to get international stamps only because I have done it and I know it works, but I remember looking up if you can send international mail without an international stamp and I found that you could.
      I would say go to your local post office and ask, but because of the virus and postal workers not always being very helpful or nice...

    • @TamaMushroom

      The forever is more than fine! They should be able to fit 2 photocards within a top loader together. You can always weigh it to see if it’s over the weight and if so another forever should be sufficient. You can always ask the postal workers for a cheaper stamp if you don’t need 2 forever stamps.

      @TamaMushroom  Před 2 lety +3

      I’d start with Instagram or Twitter for a place to start selling. You can go through PayPal, cash app, Venmo, etc.
      Stamps can be bought at the post office and if you get the ‘forever stamp’ it should be good for sending one to a couple photocards in one go without needing additional postage. As for the address, put the return address in the top left and the person you’re sending to in the center (exactly how you said 👍🏻)
      Also be sure to add the hashtag of the artists name and Photocard. I’ll show you a few tags to try as examples!
      #TWICEPhotocard #TWICEWTS #TWICEWTT #TWICESALE
      (WTT - want to trade and WTS - want to sell) you could do general tags like #kpop #kpopphotocard #photocard but I think the majority of inquires will come from a specific tag of the artist.

      Short answer, but a sheet of stamps (make sure that one stamp is enough postage) and put it on the top right corner and it’ll be fine (as long as it’s within the weight limit for one stamp. Check the postal service website for weight/size limits.

    • @TamaMushroom

      If the envelope is thick it may get stuck in the machine sorter. So non machinable would be safest. I didn’t think it’s too much more than machinable stamped shipping. At the USPS it’s 0.99 cents per stamp so not too much more per stamp. If you have access to getting non machinable stamps it would be safer and you and the person you’re sending to can have peace of mind as well.

      You can get stamps at the post office. There are some grocery stores or other types of stores that may have them (such as ACE Hardware)

    hi! so im planning on selling photocards but with envelopes and not using shipping labels, i know u have to put return address on the top and the buyers address in the middle but i dont feel comfortable putting my address there for random buyers to see... also im planning on just sending the envelopes through the mailbox so do i put it in my mail box or in the big one with the little slit to put envelopes in that the mailman opens and takes it out to ship?

      Hey idk if it’s too late, but when mailing envelopes you actually don’t have to put a return address!!
