The Cleveland Cavaliers Make No Sense This Season

- The Cleveland Cavaliers Have Had The Wierdest Season Ever, From Being a Play in team just weeks ago, to losing both Darius Garland and Evan Mobley for an extending period of time, to them becoming the hottest team in the league and winning 14 out of there last 15 games, this cavs team can beat anyone and they really are starting to gel together at the right time, but how are they doing this, Well, let's go back to 2 months ago when this team was barely above .500 with a 16 and 13 record. They started off the year rather slow albeit now when i look at who they played, it was mostly contenders, but this team didn't look good at all, I thought with some of the moves they made over the offseason that they would be improved, but it almost looked like they regressed, and they had the same problem as the year before in that they couldn't figure out how to close out close games, they literally were up by 10 in the home opener against the Thunder with 90 seconds left and found a way to loss, it was so embarrassing.

Cavs won 50+ games last year with no 3 point shooting outside of Garland/Mitchell. Now you’ve added 3 snipers and a much deeper bench.
They're on pace to win 56 games
@@dearmas9068 Yeah! Okoro really worked on his shot and it's paying off. Wade is healthy and hitting shots helps as well. Plus they're still maintaining their defense as well. During this run, the Cavs are #1 in defense

@@HomeDefender30point is that this team is hitting it's stride after that slow start. The challenge is maintaining it as well as working Mobley and Garland back into rhythm. I told people as well as the Cavs are playing now, I don't think they've hit that 2nd gear, that next gear and that's scary.
I knew this team had this in them. They were already so close to this level last year. Just needed some better shooting and bench guys to get to this level. Now we finally have those two things, are getting healthy, and figuring out good rotations. Getting Mobley and Garland back are boosting this team like a trade even when their still on a minutes restrictions. I cant believe people thought they made us worse. This team has all we need to compete for a title and if the NBA doesn't know now their in for a rude awakening. Best defense and net rating in the league now paired with better shooting/spacing and a deep bench around Mitchell. They can play any style of ball they want now. Honestly though I like that their going under the radar because it makes the shock factor all the more satisfying. Craziest part is this team is still young so this is just the beginning of something great for years to come and I cant wait. GO CAVS!!!
The reason nobody saw this coming is that NOBODY thought that the Cavaliers were this crazy deep. Everyone improved from last year, their free agents were the perfect pick-ups and they stubbled across Merrill and CPJ. They are built to play big or small and because they are so deep. They don’t have the let downs that most teams deal with during back to back games.
I can’t say Koby stumbled upon anything. He knows what he’s doing.
@@avonbarksdale91 I didn’t mean that Koby had no idea/wishful thinking. The facts are that Sam Merrill was a pass around in the league and CJP was an undrafted Hail Mary. Then because of the injuries they were both called upon to give the Cavaliers major minutes and proved that they were up to the task.👍🏿

This team has an identity now
The team already had a defensive identity but they had no offensive identity except for DG and spida
Gotta love this team! Doesn’t matter what players are on the court they all seem so comfortable with each other and the pace of play is silky smooth
People are laughinh at Doc Rivers now but this is the example of letting the coach figure things out.
Once he's got it, The Bucks will make a comeback.
It takes 10+ games for a coach to tweak the team.
Adversity can breed innovation. The teams identity is solidifying

Cavs bench last year compared to this year. You had Lavert that can create, with Wade, Osman, almost retired Rubio. Now you've got Niang, Merrill, Lavert, Wade, Okoro, CPJ, and Thompson (while not suspended). Teams HAVE to rotate differently against the cavs, like the Cavs did because of their weak bench (Having one of their starting guards and big men overlapping for a lot of bench minutes to shore up off/def) Even on the days the starters are off, their bench can dominate on both sides of the ball.

Looking at the team as is, I do not want to see any trades. Maybe a contract buy out signing otherwise I feel the team is built really well. Strus and Niang signing have paid off and watching the game yesterday Strus does all the hustle plays that make opposing teams go crazy. Let us see how playoffs go, but I feel the team is much different from last year.
A. JB was forced to play more than 7 dudes.
B. Starters saw they were replaceable.
The “slow start” also has to take into account the fact that MVP candidate Donavan Mitchell, Defensive centerpiece Jarrett Allen, Garland, Mobley, Levert all missed time at the beginning of the year. They’re healthy now. And it’s all gelling together.

The title doesn't exactly jive with the content of the video. It does make sense, the added shooters were incorporated into the offense, and now they are comfortable.

Depth - JB is playing 10 in the normal rotation - he can turn up shooting or defense as needed - looking scary with Mobley and Garland back - hoping still play 10 when they are off mins restriction
I agree that the relationship between D and D is still to be proven...
A willing point guard for the 2nd unit is a great position; given, the great depth of this squad. Look at the effect of C. Lavert.

CAVS had 2 of 4 best plsyers innured when they were 13-12 and now they are 2nd in the east
yet we got no shot at the title
My only doubts for this team is garland being such a liability on defense and mobley being timid or slow to shoot.
Last year at this time they were hot...only to crash 2nd half and last month the lost 4 key games ....SO LETS SEE IT THEY HAVE MADE THE CHANGES FOR THE STRETCH...I THOUGHT LAST YR THEY WERE ON CHASE FOR #3 SPOT THEN FADED IN APRIL....
Don’t compare this team to last year. That’s been the problem all year. Not the same. Completely different.
That's because they didn't have the bench, floor spacing, rebounding and shooting to close it out for the stretch run. Some of you want to be prisoners of last year.

Yes this team is 12 deep, and Bates and Nance are in the G leagues playing well so it might even be 14 deep. However I have cautious optimism because they haven't won 1 playoff series yet. We'll see what happens in the playoffs.
