- A celebration of the Great Western Society's occupation of their site at Didcot. With most of the society's engines in operation and amid visits from Princess Elizabeth and King George V, this is an atmospheric look at the busy railway centre at Didcot.
The Great Western Society was started over 25 years ago by a group of schoolboys to preserve the spirit and style of the Great Western Railway and the once commonplace scenes you can see at the Didcot Railway Centre are the result of years of hard work by the countless unsung volunteers and members, without whom most of what you can see today would have all but disappeared forever.
Introduced and narrated by Mike Savage. Written and directed by David G. Rose and Mike Slee. Produced by Phillip Goodhand-Tait and Kathy Rose. With thanks to the Great Western Society and special thanks to Jeanette Howse.
